Worst shopping experience of my life. I went there on Sunday 5/11/2014 and spent a good amount of time shopping for the write bike for me. I finally made my decision and proceeded to go and pay for my new GT mountain bike. I get to the register take my check book out and they do not accept checks. At this point I found the bike I wanted and was disappointed but asked for them to set the bike aside so that when my new debit card came in the mail I would come and buy it. My new debit card arrived and I went back to buy the bike and asked if he could find it and said it was gone. I ask gone? He said yeah I dont know where it is at... WHAT?!?! I ask if there are any other XL GTs like the one I was looking at and he started showing me bikes that were double in price! I was dumb founded. I was going to wait and speak with a manager and express my frustration but there was not one available. At most there were 3 people working there with roughly 15 customers in the store. I am a manager at a car dealership and this is just unacceptable. I will not do business with you ever. There is no excuse to the bad customer service and policy of not taking a check. Good luck if you decide to do business with this company, you will need it!

I am reading an awful lot of bad reviews here, but most of them are fairly old, or sound like they may be written by people with little experience and/or unfair expectations. If you DID have a problem, you may consider giving them another chance. They have excellent prices, IF you take advantage of their frequent sales and occasional doorbusters. I got a great deal on a chain and cassette and they installed it for free, which most shops do. WhIle he was installing them, I mentioned the gears shifted sloppily, so he did a quick adjustment, which he didnt charge me for and solved the problem perfectly. While the entire staff has been friendly and helpful, EJ really does stand out as extremely knowledgeable and passionate about riding, so I always seek him out. This shop is 15+ miles from my house, and I am so impressed, they have taken much of my business from Ferndale bike shop, which is also a fantastic bike shop, and is only 3 miles from my home! I would definitely recommend this place!

I get a tune up before heading to copper harbor last year i told them i need my derailleur adjusted and to tighten everything up the gave me my bike with everything looser than when i brought it in to the point that im going dow the trail reach for my breaks and my lever isnt where it should be because it was soo loose. Then my buddy takes his bike in to get a new chain they end up breaking his derailleur and and coming up with excuses on why it still isnt fixed!!! Worst service shop i have ever been to i know why they had to down size because of buisness like this!!

We were sold a bike without kickstand and the salesman ordered a kickstand for us for which we paid in advance. Three weeks later the kickstand is still not in and will be three more weeks before it comes in we are told. I could probably get the kickstand from Amazon in two days. They were not even sorry for the delay. Its not easy using a bike without kickstand. They need to be more customer driven at this place and have such essential parts in stock which they want us to pay "extra" though should be "standard".

I bought a bike here a week ago. Love it. Im super impressed with how much you get for the prices. On top of that their rewards program saved me tons of money. Im writing this review because the service is awesome. When I walked in today I overheard the manager say they were short staffed. The guys that helped me were so helpful and didnt rush me. They spent a ton of time making sure I got what I needed. I looked at all kinda of bike shops and this is my home. Great store. Great employees! I will be back.

While the bikes here are a little pricey and their "performance member" program seems like a gimmick, the customer service here is excellent(which is rare nowadays)! I brought my bike in for a repair to the gear shifter and the mechanic fixed it free of charge.. the wheel also was slightly bent as he pointed out and he fixed that too by messing with the spokes. 5 star job.. they "have your back" when it comes to bikes. I would reccomend/support this business in the future!

broke my rear derailer hanger at pontiac lake 10/1 called performance they said come up with the part we may have it. they had a lot of hangers but not mine. They proceded to take it off a showroom bike and hand it to me!!! I did not ask they just thought it was the right thing to do. I will pop it back on and be riding in no time. Thanks performance and you have a loud new customer for life.

I was impressive with the service of the young man in the bicycle repair departmant. He not only quickly repaired my padel but also helped me to bring my bike from my car to the store and then back to my car. He also briefly introduced what bycycle they have and the feature of each bicycle. I strongly recommend you to go to there if you need to repaire your bike or need to buy the bike.

The WORST customer service. Being a first time bike purchaser I felt like I was talk down to by management and the staff. I was 100% lied to about my purchases agreement, and everything the say about cycle clubs, points, or discounts are complete BS so they can make another sale. I will never step foot in that store again.

EJ is really fantastic and helpful. Full of knowledge. When I walked my bike in with a problem a different guy was quick to say Id have to drop it for a few weeks. EJ looked at it for a moment and knew exactly what was wrong. Took 5 minutes to fix. He gave great advice too to myself as a newer rider.

Great customer service, well stocked store, reasonable prices. They have a great selection of shoes! Probably the most comprehensive in the metro area.
