I wasnt necessarily looking to buy a bike right before i moved to FL, but wanted to look around a what was available before i did. I was greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff and we discussed what i was looking for in a bike, my expectations and how i would be riding. We then looked at bikes within my price range, looking at features and getting candid advice about the bikes and accessories. Throughout the hour and a half long conversation i didnt feel rushed or pressured to buy - Mike honestly wanted to see another customer who was going to be happy with their bike, and he was willing to take the time and explain different components and their pros/cons. The staff is obviously in this business for the right reasons. They love bikes and they want their customers to be happy. These are the guys I want to buy a bike from - so i did. I purchased the bike and they installed all of my accessories and showed me tips/tricks for keeping the bike in great condition. They even took time to help me practice taking the front wheel on/off. I was new to bikes with disk brakes, so this was helpful - no one wants took look dumb trying to fumble with a wheel for the first couple of times. Next, i needed a way to get my ride down to FL - time for a bike rack. They didnt have it in stock so they discounted it nicely. Then, there was a chance it wouldnt be here by my departure - no problem. They had it airmailed with no additional charge and offered to install it the day it arrived. These guys are great! The only down side is that i spent too much money than i told my wife i would. But hey thats my fault - not theirs! Bottom line: Buy your bike from this shop.

*****UPDATE 2: Received my package today. I had order out of stock should not have read "Order Cancelled, Out of Stock"; it should have read "We could not fulfill your entire order, but will send you what we have." As I did receive at least one item, I am bumping my rating up to three stars. I am still very disappointed in this company/sites ability to clearly communicate. Therefore, I will not be purchasing from here again. Theyre just not worth the confusion and headache. *****UPDATE: After receiving an e-mail that my items were "Out of Stock" and that my card would not be charged, I received an e-mail with a tracking number that said my items shipped. Well how nice of you, Tree Fort Bikes, for making things much more complicated than necessary. I will update to confirm if I actually receive the items I ordered. *****ORIGINAL REVIEW: A friend recommended this store to me, stating she ordered from their online site many times and was always pleased. Purchased a few items on their site this morning, then received an e-mail saying its "Out of Stock", when the website lists them having the item available in two sizes. Obviously there are some issues with their online stock count system. Not very professional, and makes me hesitant to want to try ordering other items from them I had considered purchasing. Oh well, on to another store I go.

Online Store: I purchased a pair of cycling shoes online and--as I do with all of my online purchases--had them shipped to my residential address, which is different from my billing address. A day later, I received an email that my shipping address couldnt be verified, so I called customer service, waited, and gave them my billing phone number. This is where I should have just cancelled my order and ordered from Universal Cycles, which had the same cycling shoe at the same price; same shipping; same excellent reviews on Yelp. I received the same email an hour and a half later and called again, giving another billing number (either of them should have been correct). This wasnt worth my time. At this point I certainly should have cancelled my order and gone elsewhere. The customer service representative even had the nerve to lie to me about why my time was being wasted. He said that they verify this information for the protection of their customers. When you pay with a credit card, youre already protected from fraud. The verification was for their protection, so my time was wasted for their benefit; not mine. An hour later I received the same email a third time. I quickly emailed them back to cancel my order and ordered from Universal Cycles. My advice: Buy from Universal Cycles in the first place.

My friend purchased a bike from Tree Fort Bikes and after having a bad experience at a shop in Ann Arbor I was nervous about coming into a shop not knowing exactly what I was looking. (A bike shop closer to where I live told me they couldnt help me find a bike if I didnt know what bike I wanted and made me feel like I was wasting their time by walking in the store )I decided it was worth the short drive out there. Patrick helped me find a bike within my price range that is perfect for my needs. Everyone in the shop was really kind and helpful and made sure I had all the information I needed about purchasing the right bike for me. I checked out their website before coming in and really appreciate how easy it is to navigate.

I stumbled on Tree Fort almost by accident. I was shopping in the Ann Arbor area for a year end model bike. In November, they still had a large selection in their inventory and the sales staff were very helpful. I told them basically what I wanted and they had some great suggestions that they could show me in their racks. Im really glad that I found them. My sales person, Jesse was great and so were their year end prices. I bought a Giant Escape RX-O and so far, I love the bike.

Waited quite a while for service, despite their having three employees and two customers, store is difficult to find with no sign on the street and no addresses marked on Whittaker Rd. (its 100yd south of Huron R. Dr.), and I had to email THEM in order to find out if my in-store pickup was ready. I cannot comment on repair services, but if only shopping for parts, you might find it more convenient to order parts from your favorite online retailer and have them shipped to your door.

I have been going to, and shopping at Treefort bikes for many, many years. The selection of bikes they sell is just right for my needs. The service is as good as it gets. When it comes to repair, they are always very prompt and trained at what they do. I love my bike and I have great trust in their expertise. They know, I know what is what for parts when it comes to quality, and so far so good. They have never let me down when it comes to ordering and installation of what I need.

Good place to find older or more obscure parts and "open box" deals. I accidentally ordered the wrong version of a product late at night. Sent them an email through their contact form, which is not the most intuitive process (wrote this review to point this out to others). Long story short, they are on top of their communications so no need to play phone tag. I got an email that morning; they fixed my order and everything arrived as it should. Very efficient service: thanks!
