Ill never step foot in this store again. We put down a down payment on a Townie Electra bike on Saturday. They were getting one transferred from another store. I didnt want the white seat that came with it, and I asked if they could swap out the seat with a black one. "No problem," they said. They said I would have it by Monday or Tuesday. Well, by Wednesday, it finally came in, and when my husband went to pick it up, they had a white and black seat on it. He asked for a black seat, and they said it would take a few weeks to get one in. He asked if they could swap out the black seat that was on ANOTHER Townie bike in the store, and he was told, "No, we cant do that." So, he said, "Forget it, I want my deposit back." We went across the street to the other bike store, and we bought one there -- with a black seat. They swap them out all the time.

I am a casual biker. Had fine service from the same guy the first time I came in. This time was very different. The two older guys working were very agitated and impatient with me. They didnt fix the tuning of my gears properly until I brought it back in 5 min later, and requested the other guy fix it. I asked the first guy what he would do if it were his bike (after he gave up after 10 minutes) and he responded "well I wouldnt buy an entry level bike with entry level components." Hah! Sorry my $400+ bike isnt good enough to receive a proper tune up. Needless to say I wont come back here even though I am less than a minute walk away. These guys are ready to fire off arrogant remarks if you arent a hard core biker- sounds unbelievable for customer service- but its true.

My bike was jumping gears last Sunday, a beautiful morning, and I thought I was just not going to ride on the best weather day of the year. I Googled bike shops and found out that these guys were open on Sundays. I figured there was no way to get them to look at it right away but I put it on the back of the car and headed to Northville. I asked if they might be able to take a quick look at it to see if it was an easy fix and they dropped what they were doing, rolled it right in, fixed it, and even adjusted the gears and now it shifts better than when it was new! They only charged me a few bucks for all that and I am grateful. I didnt buy my bike there but they still helped me out in a jam, I WILL BUY MY NEXT BIKE THERE.

Anytime I can buy local I can. I live in Livonia and the Westland location is closest to me but I always go to D&D Northville and deal with their manager, Mike. What a knowledgeable guy and just all around good person. Hes helped me out in every way I couldve asked for when making a purchase there. He has gone above and beyond what I would expect out of excellent customer service and surpassed those expectations every time. You cant beat their prices, their warranties, their service plans, and most importantly the exeperience you have with any given staff member there. My family and I are D&D Northville customers for life! Thanks for everything Mike!

What a bike shop!! Just picked up a new Trek hybrid this week and had the best experience there at D&D. First of all the price was $100 less than the Trek dealer in West Bloomfield, second they do 3 years of tune ups and flat repairs for free just for buying a bike there, but the best thing probably is the customer service, I showed up right at closing, was unfortunately delayed getting there because of the recent construction on I275. The manager/bike mechanic had plans after work but after learning I came up from New Boston he insisted on stayed later to install a different set of tires for me. Great bike shop!

The bike mechanic at D & D Bicycle & Fitness insisted on putting air in my tire even after I indicated that the tire needed no more air. I rode the bike away, and within 1/4 mile of the store, my rear tire blew. The tire was so full of air that it actually blew out the metal side of the rim. I immediately carried my bike back to the store, and the mechanic seemed more concerned with minimizing his liability than making things right. The result? A $70 bill to pay for the mechanics negligence.

This used to be my bike shop of choice. After having a few repairs done with no problems, I came in about a gear shifting problem. They told me I needed a new derailleur for almost $100. I decided to take it across the street to another shop just to be sure & they said oh its obviously just the cables are bad. They replaced them & 5 minutes & $8 later my bike was shifting like new. After something like that I wouldnt chance walking into D&D again.

They fixed my bike on a Sunday morning while I waited. Both the manger and/or owner and the bike mechanic were extremely knowledgeable, even about my old-school 1999 Specialized FSR. The price for the inspection and repair was quite reasonable. They also had an Adult XL bike helmet in stock that was big enough to fit my gigantic grape.

D&D seems to be run by kids with sporadic adult supervision. I had a good experience there with a new bike purchase but a recent service experience left me exasperated as it seems like no one is really in charge . My advice is to ask for the manager right away and save yourself some aggravation.

I called once and stopped in the store twice and all times the customer service was great. They greeted me soon as I walked in and answered all my questions. I service my new bike there and I will be back

These people are fantastic! Their service was extremely busy the day I took my sons bike in. Realizing my son wanted to ride it that day, they stopped what they were doing to fix it.
