I moved to Poolesville in 1988 as a young whipper snapper. I went to Poolesville Hardware and met John. I told him I was looking for a stud finder to hang pictures in my brand new home (to me anyway). He tossed me one from behind the counter and said bring it back by five. I felt like I was in the Waltons (tv show) Hardware store. There is no better small town shop. They have endured because they have adapted to change and always have superb customer service. Fast forward to today, 2013 and I need a gear puller to get a fan off an ac compressor motor...John said, bring it up and well get it off

Every small town should have a good hardware store, and this one fills the bill for Poolesville. The staff always seems to be happy and friendly, and eager to help with advice when you ask about something. Like pretty much all of the small hardware stores, youre going to pay a dollar or two more than the "big box" places like Lowes or Home Depot. But you could spend the difference in gas, alone, driving to one from the Poolesville area.

An absolutely incredible place. The store is filled with all those little parts and tools you didnt realize you needed when you started a project. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, ready to help you figure out what you need to get the job done. When you picture all the best aspects of a classic small-town hardware store, this is it.
