Well, what can be said about the "industry" that is car sales other than what it is; a fiefdom of theiving the public blind. Forget the fact that when you buy a new car it deprciates the second you roll off the lot, its the "service" part where they really screw you. I recently came into possession of a vechicle first purchased at Koons and like any good responsible car owner of a premium vehicle, I decided Id leave my mechanic and proceed to have all work for my car done there. Upon my first prevenative maintenance appointment, a routine oil change turned into a tire rotation an alignment. When I had the car just recently inspected, my mechanic made no indication whatsoever that anything of the kind needed to be done. Adding to this, I was also given an estimate that my brakes and rotors needed to be replaced which were going to cost me more than a grand and this is not for the full replacement or all parts involved; two rotors and four brake pads. This should also have come up during a state inspection but mysteriously it didnt. I left with the estimate feeling dejected, thinking to myself, maybe buying this car was a mistake. Its a Volvo and although I understand that issues come up with any vehicle, the truth of the matter is that my good nature was being taken for granted. Whats worse, after my brake light came on, I called the Volvo service supervisor Bruce telling him that the brake light came on and asking if it had anything to do with the proposed work to be done on the brakes. He said it was and with that I feld there was no sense of urgency. Turns out after seeing my old mechanic as my funny bone felt something was wrong, the brake light indicator had NOTHING to do with pads or rotors in need of being replaced. The car was actually leaking brake fluid from one of the calipers. Essentially, had I not not gone with my gut and made a B line back to my old mechanic in time, I probably would have killed someone. So my old mechanic fixes my brakes (all pads and rotors, the caliper plus labor) for around $800. I saved my self a few hundred and supported an honest local blue collar fella whos reputation is on the line based on the quality of his work, not some brand that operates like moths to a flame. Youd think the story ends there but it doesnt! Turns out that a few years ago while the car was under warranty, the middle seat belt jammed while it was folded forward making space to place large items in the trunk but would not return to its default position. Fast forward years later, the exact same problem occurs only this time with the car no longer under warranty, they wanted to charge me a several hundred dollars for something that cost less than $100. The bottom line is that its really, really hard to expect fair pricing and good service from a dealer unless you have money to burn. If youre not a walking sack of change, or show the slightest sense that something is amiss, youre basically treated with a sublte yet sinister form of passive aggression so if you have a good mechanic in your life, use him. *Note to dealer: Please do not respond. In going over your less than favorable reviews it would seem all you do is regurgitate the same BS over and over as seen here: "We are very sorry about your experience with Koons. We take customer satisfaction very seriously so we do thank you for bringing this to our attention. If there is anything else we can do for you, please do not hesitate to reach out directly." Its fairly obvious that you dont take customer satifacton seriously becuase the same lame lines are seen over and over so why would anyone want to reach out to you directly if at all? What you can do is start listening to your clients, take owership of your issues, be open, fair and held accountable!

I was in need of a car and I just went to look. I told the dealer what price range I wanted to stay in and the type of car I would accept. He looked one up in the computer and said I will be back. He drove the car around and it was very nice. I liked the price just under 20000. I test drove it and it was very nice. We walked inside to discuss my options and I soon called my husband about the car. My husband said walk away it cost to much. I told the dealer that my husband said the price needed to come down 2000. He said no the prices were set and they did not negotiate. They also sold me a prepaid maintenance plan. I kept asking hm questions about the plan like what did it include he kind of brushed me off. He said I will give you the paper work on it. He asked me to go outside and meet with the attendant about my tags and he would give me the brochure. So I did. Once I went outside he gave me the brochure which explained nothing. I took it home and realized it only paid for 2 oil changes and 1 tuneup. They sold it to me for 2500.00 I returned the next week to cancel the plan ( I was within my time frame to cancel it. The finance man tried to talk me out of it but I understood well that it was not worth it.I signed the paper to be refunded the money but it has now been 3 months and they have still not returned the money. They are now ignoring my calls. Second Problem with this dealer. About 4 weeks after I had the car I get a phone call on my job explaining a problem with the title. Apparently the car I was driving was not the car I brought on paper. The car I brought on paper was still in the lot. The temporary tags and registration was for that car that was still on the lot. I had no idea. I took the car back and accepted the car that was on the lot. They did give me the option to keep the car I had. It would just mean doing all kinds of paper work over again. I accepted the car and drove off. I called about my hard tags and they said they were not in but I already received my title. DONT USE THIS DEALER. Disorganized mess.

My wife and I had been on a search for a specific set of options on a 2016 XC60 for a couple weeks. We finally found one at Koons at a great price, so I started talking to one of their sales associates. We live 6 hours away, so it was going to be a week or so until we could make it up to pick the car up, so we confirmed with our sales associate, the sales manager, and then the finance manager that the car would be held for us and that all of the deals would remain in place without us driving up to get it that day. We filled out the online finance application, sent information on our trade-in, and made plans to make the trip up there the next weekend. Two days later we found out that they had sold the car we had already confirmed we had wanted to buy with two different managers at the dealership and had already submitted a finance application for. This after telling us that we would not have to drive up that day and that they sell to out-of-state customers all the time. Then - not surprisingly to us - they couldnt find a replacement car that matched the specs we were looking for - which we knew because I had already searched the inventory of basically every Volvo dealership in the Mid-Atlantic and the car they sold out from under us was the only one that matched what we were looking for. If youre able to buy in person, Im sure its probably a fine experience; however, if youre looking to buy from out of town, AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP.
