I went in to buy a metric screw, an M6. I bought some earlier in the day at Rwinams True Value for 23 cents each. I was short one on a project and in the neighborhood so I pulled to purchase one more. The employee tells me its a $1.60 apiece for a common screw! I couldnt believe how badly they were gouging me on this. She erroneously claimed, "Thats the price everywhere because its metric!" Metrics been in use in this country since its creation iced hundred years ago - theres nothing special about it! But I it needed it so I went to checkout. And then I thought about the price chart on the box she pulled it from and I realized she had misread it. When I pointed out that she made an error, and I was about to get overcharged, the employee insisted I was wrong. We went over to double check the prices and she insisted that was the price, which it wasnt. Eventually after explaining how to read Aces pricing chart, as she was reading it backwards, she agreed with me. It was now 60 cents, but thats still 3x times higher than the competition. I dont care about her making a mistake. Everyone makes mistakes. What I do care about are Aces outrageous prices. I wonder how many other people are overcharged for simple things too. And the fact I had to somewhat argue a little bit to prevent from getting overcharged was a drag. Ill just will chose to buy elsewhere in the future.

DO NOT take your precious SEWING SCISSORS to this Ace Hardware to get sharpened! My All Metal sewing/tailoring scissors were damaged beyond repair and then replaced with a cheaper plastic handled kind! Want your scissors sharpened?...I would try Sew and Save in Racine, wi.
