They have everything at decent prices. Want to redo your master bath... they got you covered. Need a cook book? ... they got it. Underwear? They got it. Forgot Fidos Frontline? No worries? Aching to watch all 3 Smokey and the Bandit movies? Ohhh YES! They have that too! Top it off with some paint to touch up your classic car and you are off to a great weekend. Another awesome feature is the great cardio you get, in the air conditioning with a great sound track that reminds how much BIG money you are gonna save, as you traverse the GINORMOUS store. If you are really lucky your shopping list will take you tall four corners. Then it is up to what workout you will get. Beginners, I suggest the perimeter route. But, for the more advanced, you are limited only by your physical conditon and imagination. My favorite visits are the ones when I make it to all four corners as well as the woodyard. AND the garden center. If you are faint of heart or lacking in time and rich...go to ACE Hardware. But my money is at Menards!

Bought a chainsaw there; it cut one branch off a tree and then died. turns out, this brand new chainsaw had a bad spark plug. Also bought a brand new ceiling fan there; it came with a bad capacitor. Menards...despite their official company policy...initially told me I could just return it within seven days, no problem. Upon arrival, they told me since it was gas-powered (despite it not being noted on the receipt, as per their policy), there was nothing they could (or would) do. The two biggest problems weve had with Menards: Arbitrary enforcement of policies, and not carrying items they advertise. Seriously, this place is the Big Lots of home improvement - one week theyll carry an item, and the next week, theyll tell you they havent carried that item in months. Lowes and Home Depot are on the same road. Either of those places is a far better option than Menards. Dont waste your time or money with these people. These people should all be unemployed, and this excuse for a store burned to the ground.

We ordered a door and a safe, both of which took about 4 weeks to get to the store. I received an email stating they were in, ready for pick up. We drove the 65ish miles to the store only to be told the safe hadnt arrived yet. After some "looking around", it was located. When we loaded the door into the truck (mind you no one offered to help with the loading, nor the safe), we noticed the door had several scuff marks, a huge blob of dried something which we finally guessed was putty and one of the corners were damaged. Beyond ticked off doesnt describe my feelings when all of this was discovered. We will not be returning to that store and will do our business elsewhere where we are appreciated as customers and our business is wanted.

My kids and I enjoy going to Menards in Topeka KS. We all enjoy the friendliness from the staff and their willingness to help. I was going to Westlake for sandpaper, but when they found out they asked to go to Menards. There is a pile of stuff to see and the kids (13,16) played 70s music on their iPhones (I may have been a contributor in their selection. ) We walked out having having looked at lighting all the way through to fountains. They suggested our theme music was to be Bakers Street. We ended up buying sanpaper, flood lights, a rotating disco light bulb, candy and meat snacks.

A huge selection and good employees make great stores and Menards has both. Ive been remodeling my house and this store has nearly everything I have needed, however there are a small handful of things I did not find and did find at Lowes. Also in comparison, Lowes seems to have more knowledgeable employees. Both are great stores and better then The Home Depot, in my opinion, but Id end with Menards has a better selection and Lowes has a more knowledgeable staff. Also, Lowes gives a lot to local charities here in Topeka, so that is something to consider as well.

Getting someone to help you is impossible. Too many employees talking to each other or just chitchatting with friends/customers - even when you are obviously waiting. Home Depot or Lowes will be getting my business from now on. I drove over 2 hours to pick up one thing our plumber was going to need and stood listening to an employee talk to a couple about "Dan" a contractor for WAY to long. Finally dropped everything I had gotten and headed to Lowes. Got what I needed and was heading home in less time than I had waited on ANYONE to wait on me at Menards.

Never had any issues here. Not sure how Bruce didnt get help, I generally have at least two people ask me if I need help finding something and their employees are everywhere if you need to ask. Anytime Ive had issues with an item theyve never hesitated to work with me on a refund or exchange. We will continue shopping here, they have anything home related we need.

Menards give lots to charity as well :-D So the charity thing isnt really a factor when compared between the two. Since Menards is new here Im assuming a lot of the employees are still in training, but over all when Ive gone there I always find people who know their stuff and are very knowledgeable about their department. Big thumbs up! Awesome store!

I have to say this is the worst home store I have ever been too. Several times I have went to Menards to buy items for home improvement only to get no one to help me. Needless to say I lever Menards and went to Lowes and buy what I needed. I can say the prices may be a little better buy customer service on a scale of 1-10 is a - 1

I will never take my business to this store, they made my mentally handicapped son cry because they accused him of stealing a stuffed toy when we took him to the customer service desk to inquire about a gift card we had. Ive never been so insulted and angry in my life. How dare they pick on a child like that

In a hurry asked for assistance to get out quickly. Two employees said they didnt have gate hardware. Found it myself. Paid $5.77 for cedartone studs, went to pick up in the yard: bin was marked $ 4.67. after ten minutes worker still could not confirm the correct price. Twenty minutes turned into 45.

Its so HUGE. I always have to ask for help to find stuff. Fortunately, there are almost always friendly and helpful staff around. This is kinda like the mall -- I only go there when I know what Im after. They do have nice things.

Its a great place to buy house items. Good prices convenience and helpful workers. That dont specialize in a lot though they do a lot of things very well. Great selection lighting and trim.
