DONT TAKE YOUR DOG THERE...... my new adopted small poodle mix had so much hair when I adopted her. I went to the groomer at petSmart in overland Park and told the groomer her hair is too long and I needed it short so I can comb it without hurting her she had curly hair. the Groomer said not to worry and I told her I will shop around the store and be back in 30 minutes to look at her throughout the window. I came back assuming they gave her a bath with a blow dry and will start cutting the hair. to my surprise my dog was almost done and she looked like a 13 pound RAT........ I almost fainted but her hair was already shaved nothing I can do I took my dog and cried for an hour in the car before I took her home. My husband could not believe that was a hair cut the body was almost bald and left little hair on the tail. I plan on writing my story on every media possible starting with my 1,459.00 friends on Facebook then twitter with pictures we took of my poor dog. I paid $70.00 dollars for my dog to look like a RAT. and I was charged extra for conditioning my dog. she shaved her before she gave her a bathe and a blow dry to soften her hair so the cut is not painful. How could a big company like PetSmart hire just anyone to cut dogs hair. LOOK AT YELP they have 2.5 RATING Shame on you....... I plan on calling their upper management in their headquarters....

I would not recommend this PetSmart for grooming they like to insist on unnecessary services and then not give you all that you pay for. I booked my 10 year old dog for a bath. I arrived and was told that she was so matted that they would have to do a furminator treatment so she would be dry in time. I brush my dog weekly and had just brushed her the night before so she was not matted. But they refused to do the bath without the furminator. I finally agreed and asked if they could grind her nails as they were getting long and she was chewing on them. They agreed and I left. When I returned to pick her (after they called and said she was ready, almost 40 minutes before the time that they were originally to be done) they said her nails were already short but they had trimmed those that were long. I paid and went home, stupidly not checking her paws for myself before we left. At home I noticed her paws had not been trimmed which is part of their bathing service her nails had not been cut, especially the longest ones, and her fur under her ears was still so wet it smells like wet dog and their shampoo. I had to finish drying her ears and ended up trimming some of the hair because it was still so wet as well as trimming her paws myself. I will have to take her someplace else to have her nails trimmed.

Update: The managers at the store were textbook ideal in handling the situation. I could not have asked them to be more understanding or cordial. While I still hurt for the pup who is healing, I feel better about the whole ordeal, especially knowing the grooming manger planned to address the situation with the employee who did not do the job they expect. The original situation: I knew better than to trust the girl with the attitude as I handed over my sweet morkie. But she faked me out that she might actually treat him kindly after she was a jerk to me. She took him, petting and calling him sweetheart. He came home with severe razor burn in two places. One on the folds of skin under his face and the other on his private part. And several cuts others places. How could someone hurt a dog like that? Im going back tomorrow to address the manager and demand not only my money back, but that they will have the veterinarian see him for medicine at their expense. Im more than mad. Hell hath no wrath like a scorned dog lover.

I have been taking my dog to get groomed for a year ay PetsMart. This time I got a call after I dropped off my dog to let me know they would not be cutting my dogs hair. The groomer Miranda said she pooped on the table and would not stand for her that well. My dog is 16 years old and yes she does have a difficult time standing the whole time, but it is no different than the other times she has been there to get a hair cut. When I spoke with the manger Ambria she was no help and just stated that is the policy the dog must stand. When I picked up my dog she was walking and standing just fine. The groomer choose not to take the time to cut my dogs hair and the manger offered poor customer service. I will not be taking my dog back here and I would not recommend this place to anyone else. I was told that day that I was not the only one that got a call to come pick up their dog that day without a hair cut.

I shop there for food and pet supplies, so thats nice. My main reason for writing the review is the Pet Hotel. I have never taken a dog to a daycare where the staff is so interested in getting to know you and actually befriending you. There are two managers there that I talk to the most, and they are A-Class. My dog had a legion on her paw rupture at day care and they called me immediately and knew exactly what to do. They took her to the vet and had her checked out. When I came to pick her up everything was under control, and my pup was still happy as a clam (Totally bummed that she had to leave daycare, though.) I cant say enough good things about them and the fact that they made me feel completely at ease. They care so much about the pups there and I love it. I wont take my German Shepherd anywhere else.

The store has a lot of options, it is pretty clean and the staff has been friendly. There have been two trips there where it has been hard to get someone to help, perhaps understaffed because we werent being ignored, there just wasnt anyone available. My main issue with Petsmart is the prices! My husband went and got all of our stuff for out guinea pigs. I looked on Amazon at the cage we got and it was $40, at Petsmart it was on sale for $70. Also, we need a second food bowl for them so I looked while I was at Walmart-the exact bowl was $1.29 at Walmart and $2.69 at Petsmart. Everything I have compared now is close to 1/2 the price at other stores. I think we will get our food here still, but only because I havent found it somewhere else yet.

Bought some pet grooming supplies. Clerk asked if I needed a receipt. Didnt see why I need one because I planned to use them soon. However, got home and found I already had a certain comb. Went to return it the next day and gave them my credit card to find yesterdays purchase. There was no record of the transaction on either the credit card or the rewards card. Somehow their system screwed up and did not record it. So, store credit only. There was ONE cashier open and a very long line so I didnt argue and just took the card with the credit. Problem is that Ill probably not want to shop there again. This is the 2nd very poor incident at this store. Very understaffed and those who are there just dont care about helping a customer.
