My husband and I went in last month to get matching ring tattoos since my husband cannot wear his ring at work. We just moved to Eglin AFB and had no idea about which shops were good or bad. We listened to google reviews and chose Custom Concepts, and had our tattoos done by Terry. Initially, they looked pretty good. We followed exact directions - wash and air dry, cover with a Band-Aid for a few days, do not soak/scrub/scratch/tan..etc. We both have other tattoos so we were experienced with the healing process. We were told that finger tattoos fade quickly, and were completely aware that keeping it for years to come would be a constant investment. But a week after getting our tattoos done, they started looking uneven. We had infinity tattoos done and they look blotchy. Very light in some spots, very dark in others. Infinity - one continuous line. Our tattoos look like separate lines. Not faded, but completely uneven. When I called in regards to getting them retouched, Chris said that he would have to talk to Terry and call us back, but told us that if it were him who tattooed us, he would warranty finger tattoos because they are hard to keep. So of course we got our hopes up that we wouldnt have to pay to have them redone. The next day Chris called back and said that we would infact have to pay to have them redone. Priced at $50/each, and we originally paid $60/each. We walked into this knowing they would be a constant investment to upkeep when they faded over time, but I never expected we would have to pay to have them redone due to unevenness. Our normal tattoo artists we go to back home in Michigan/Ohio insure their tattoos 100%. If there are ever any problems during or after healing, you come right in and they take care of you no problem. In the end, we cannot justify paying another $100 to have two one-line tattoos redone. This really bums us out because we actually enjoyed our experience with Terry and my husband was planning on coming back to him to have further work done. Now, I believe we will be waiting until we go on leave for Christmas to have our normal tattoo artists redo our tattoos and to have further work done. Unfortunately my husband now gets to walk around his shop everyday with his uneven tattoo on his finger and every single time one of the guys asks where he got his tattoo done, he gets to tell them "Custom Concept Tattoo and Design in Destin, by Terry". Do you think they will be going to Custom Concepts for any of their future tattoos? Most definitely not.

My career requires me to perform extensive research prior to each careful, well-planned decision. I carry this almost obsessive attention to even the most obscure detail over to my personal life, as well. Obviously, my search for a tattoo artist was no exception. I extensively researched each local tattoo parlor and learned everything I could about tattoo artists in the local area. I looked through portfolios and I spoke with customers of all types. After taking in all the available data, I would have to say it is almost impossible to declare a specific artist as "the best" as each artist has strengths and weaknesses in different areas. What I can say with very little doubt, Terry is a true master of his craft. I have on many occasions seen his work and have been rendered utterly speeches when confronted with the intricate detail, dumbfounding creativity, and incomparable execution of each design. When viewing one of Terrys masterful creations, I often have to remind myself that I am looking at a tattoo and not a framed canvas or photograph in a high-end art gallery. It is true that there are other highly-skilled tattoo artists on the Emerald Coast; however, Terry has set himself apart from almost every tattoo artist I have ever met with his down-to-earth attitude, his confidence balanced with humility, and his respectful treatment of his customers. Terrys fees are also quite reasonable and his shop is clean. The right choice of artists was pretty obvious to me. I am not only satisfied with the artwork Terry did for me, but I am proud of my tattoos. I just cant help but show them off. I will, and have, gone back to Terry since my first tattoo he designed for me. All in all, selecting this shop for tattoo work was a very wise decision, a decision that I do not regret and I dont think any potential customers would regret either.

I was in Destin on vacation and looking to get some work done on my arm. I needed to have a tattoo covered, and was not sure how or what would work best for covering. I visited other shops in the area, and they were telling me that it would be difficult to cover. I searched on the internet to see if anyone recommended a certain shop that had an artist that would be willing to work with me. My girlfriend and I found Custom Concept and decided to go in and see what there shop was like. Terry has a very CLEAN shop, which was inportant to both of us. I told Terry that I was looking for a tattoo to be able to cover the one I had on my arm, and his first response was he could do anything to cover it. He asked me what my budget was for the tattoo, and then asked if I had anything in mind of what I wanted. I gave him a rough idea and he told him to give him a few minutes to draw something up. While we were looking through the portfolios he had, my girlfriend said she wanted to get her tattoo done as well. Terry had her work with D and she gave him a idea of what she was looking for. They both drew up tattoos for us and were happy to make the changes that we wanted. The entire time that we were in their shop they never made us feel like we were being to picky, and made it seem like they were happy to work with us. The tattoos came out great and you could tell that they both are masters at their craft. They took their time to make sure that the tattoos were done right. The prices for their work is great, and worth every penny of it. In a town where there are several tattoo shops to choose from, I would suggest using this shop as they are very professional. Working with either artist is the way to go, as you will receive a great experience as well as a great piece of artwork on your body.

I Love my tattoos! I am a tattoo collector and have many large pieces by a few different artists and my tattoos from Terry are by far the most intricate and vivid pieces I have. For the last 4 years I have been getting tattooed solely by Terry. Not a day goes by that someone doesnt stop me and ask me who did my tattoos or just ogle in amazement, unable to resist expressing their feelings of their infatuation with my tattoos.. this makes having the artwork even more great because I am constantly reminded how amazing they truly are. I am forever blessed with beautiful art on my skin to share with everyone I encounter for the rest of my life. I love sending people to the shop to experience this high level of the tattoo environment. No longer do I have to sit awkwardly in a deserted waiting area waiting to be part of the conversation, Terry and his floor guys do a great job greeting the customer and making them feel at home usually laughing or joking about something or the other. Chris does an amazing job keeping the shop clean and inviting, from the windows out front to sinks in the bathroom. Its always spotless when I walk in and smells fresh. I do not worry about bringing my daughter here, it is an inviting environment and laid back (sometimes the couches are too comfy and we have a hard time leaving tho). I love the artistic element of the shop, from the artists custom drawn line drawings that hang above the computer area from previous client pieces, to the custom painted award winning pieces over the sitting area. This shop def gets 5 stars from me, for experience and establishment! Now Im a tattoo snob! Thanks guys for setting the bar so high ;-D
