On Saturday, August 21st, I visited Jay Wolfe Honda with the intent of trading in my compact Ford for a 2015 Honda Accord EX-L, as I had been looking to upgrade for quite some time. Appropriately enough, our family first worked with Jay Wolfe Honda in 1992 when we purchased an Accord that stayed with our family until 2005; when it came time to sell, it was still running as well as the first day we drove it home. Within minutes of arriving at the Certified Pre-Owned lot, my father and I were enthusiastically greeted by Anthony Jacobo, who then spent the rest of his Saturday treating us like family with a personal and professional touch that is rarely seen in any industry. He was energetic, knowledgeable, and passionate for his product, and made us feel welcome from the first greeting to when the ink was dry on the offer to when he handed me the keys to my Accord. Having shopped around at other dealerships, I was most impressed with the knowledge base that Anthony possessed; while other dealers would say things like “it rides well” and has “top-of-the-line features,” Anthony was able to provide specific figures and facts in addition to being more than willing (and patient) to show and explain the various technology in the Accord, which has grown exponentially since I last drove one in 2005! After the sale had been confirmed, I then had the pleasure of working with Amir Akbarnia, the Finance Manager at Jay Wolfe. Again, I was so impressed with the service, knowledge, and presence that Amir demonstrated throughout the time I spent with him in his office. I suspect that Amir, among his friends and colleagues, is most likely the smartest guy in the room. However, he was more than happy to make sure to explain and discuss the intricate details of the financial side of things in a way that was easy for me to understand. Yes, purchasing a car can be a stressful experience – but those two gentlemen at Jay Wolfe Honda, Anthony and Amir, made it a very rewarding experience, and I couldn’t be happier with how my Saturday turned out just a couple of weeks ago. There’s nothing like a Honda, but there’s quite a few places where you can find one. However, there’s also no place like Jay Wolfe. I’ll definitely be back sooner for my complementary oil change, and later when it’s time to upgrade yet again. -Dave

Worked with a sales person who knew the vehicle features and loan information very well. I would expect nothing less from a sales person. I was told that no one else in the metro would beat their deal, "we have the highest sales volume." I would expect nothing less from a sales person. I did not like the offer and countered with a lower offer. I was told to go talk to other dealers in the metro because I didnt understand the real value of the van, and I would find no one who would beat Jay Wolfe (JW)...but if they did by some chance I should call the sales person before I made a deal with anyone else. It took several hours of games to get to this point but OK, Im happy to let dealers battle for my money. The next dealer I went to beat JW by 800 without me trying anything, just walked in said what I wanted how much do you want for it. Further negotiations dropped it to 1200 below JW. The next place I went to ended up 1700 below JW! I understand sales people will push the truth and use emotional tactics to get you to trust them so you will purchase from them. They plied me with fancy sandwiches, cookies, and psychobabble. I had a sense of "Come in here kid. Well get you out of the rain, get you warm, and take great care of you." They said, "you dont want to spend hours of your time just to eventually beat this deal by $50 do you? Your time is worth more than that isnt it?" Yes it is JW, no thank you for wasting my time. I did not call JW to ask them to try to beat the better. They didnt even try to come close to what they could have so that tells me they have no respect for me. I wont claim to know how all the JW sales people/managers would treat you. After working with other dealers who got to far better prices in less than an hour I would suggest not going to JW for your vehicle needs. Im not mad at them for wanting to profit. I know we all have to make a living but Ill be living with $1700 extra because I didnt fall for their tactics. Respect yourself, shop around, work them over, get a real deal for yourself. Ill give this to JW; other dealers werent as fancy as JW but its a Honda!! How often are you going to be at the dealer anyway?? Typically speaking, not that often, thats why you are buying a Honda.

September 3, 2015 Jay Wolfe Honda 220 w. 103RD Street Kansas City, Mo 64114-4739 Invoice #679186 Customer #222614 Dear Mr. Wolfe: On or about January 6, 2016 my son Aaron went to your shop pick up a windshield washer. During the course of his visit there he was offered a number of repairs which were not part of his purpose for going to the store originally. He respectfully declined. Many of the items suggested had been repaired before he left Oregon for Kansas City, Missouri. This included the transmission and differential fluid changes. During the inspection which again was not requested, your staff noted that the Engine oil and fluid leaks. The report noted that the drive boots were throwing grease, and that the /valve cover gasket was leaking. We recently took the vehicle in for repair 8/28/15 to address the item pointed out by your employees. Guess what? Upon a very thorough inspection the mechanics found there were no leaks in the gasket cover or the boots. All were in perfect condition. I looked at the inner boots of the vehicle and they were not cracked, ripped, leaking, dry or anything of the sort. The gasket cover was not leaking at all either. How do you explain that? My thoughts are that since he was 17 years of age that perhaps there was a bit of dishonesty being perpetrated in this case. I apologize for drawing that conclusion but I cannot arrive at any other conclusion since the other mechanics that were prepared to make the repairs were shocked to find nothing wrong with the vehicle. They did not accuse anyone but it was obvious that something was awry. I ask you would a reputable dealer such as yourself allow such a gross error in their assessment of a vehicle. I do not think you would but I want you to know that I plan to send this information to the Missouri State Attorney. I will request your company be watched and hope that you get the message. It is unconscionable that people like you do this to the unsuspecting consumer. Get yourself together and do what is right. Sincerely, A disappointed former customer

We recently bought a new car at Jay Wolfe. We had actually been working with another dealer who wasnt able to pull off what they promised. Jay Wolfe had just received one of the vehicles we were interested in stock the day we were ready to make a deal. They patiently let us know they would work with us and understood that we wanted to give the other dealer a fair chance for the work theyd invested. When it was clear they wouldnt make the deal, we called Jay Wolfe back and 45 minutes later we left the lot having completed the paperwork and purchased exactly the car we wanted and with a loan and we were completely satisfied with. This wasnt normal time frame, but they knew we had an event we were trying to get to on time and wed used up time trying to give the other dealer a chance. They patiently did everything we needed done in order to make the purchase happen. They even came in lower on the loan rate than they told us they could in the end. There was no high pressure at any time, and there was complete interest in getting us exactly what we wanted at exactly what we could comfortably afford. Everyone we dealt with was friendly, efficient, helpful and polite. Years ago when purchasing a new car, we had worked with Jay Wolfe for two months to try to special order what we were looking for. When another dealer showed up with it, we were sad to not give them our business. In true honest fashion, the rep said, "I wasnt able to get it done, I hope you love the car and Im glad you got what you wanted." That experience was what led us to trust them to walk away from another and make such a quick deal this time (normally Im someone who takes the time to read every line of fine print and ask lots of questions). We are absolutely satisfied and would return and highly recommend. Very honest and ethical dealer who stands behind their promises! We were very glad to be able to give them our business!
