I wrote a previous review regarding my Volvo XC90. I gave credit where credit was not due. Stephens advised me that they would charge me roughly $900 which is the price for my catalytic converter and would not charge me anything for labor. As it turns out, I found the parts online for roughly $400. They cushioned the price given to me and were still going to charge me for labor after staying they wouldnt. My front brakes and rotors have also been replaced. And bear in mind, all of this has happened within 30 days of having the vehicle. Actually less than that but Ive had the vehicle for 38 days at this point. Stephens advised me that my brakes had over 40% life left when I had them checked. Then attempted to normalize the fact that brake dust appeared on my rims. Ive owned a few European cars in my day and I have NEVER seen brake dust like this. Maybe he meant to say "vehicles with CHEAP CUT RATE, BOTTOM BASEMENT brake pads". This lot was incredibly dishonest, and takes advantage of the unknowing. They were nice to my face but not forthright in their dealings. Make sure that you have a licensed mechanic thoroughly inspect any tentative purchase from these people. Theyve lied to me over and over again and I would never want anyone to experience what I have.

Ive had a few issues with my car and Ive not had it for a full 30 days. Within 5 days of having my vehicle, the system maintenance indicator has come on (they did turn it off for me) the check engine light has come on, I need new brake pads (after stating this before I left the dealership that they were squeaking). I called them to advise of the issues I was having and they were polite and said I could bring it in but it would be 2 weeks. I took it in and they told me the catalytic converter needed to be replaced but that my breaks which were squeaking had 40% life left. Fast forward, I took my car to the Volvo dealership to have the breaks checked and found out that cheap ceramic brake pads were on my Volvo and I would need to have them replaced. Dust is gathering all over my front rims. I will say however, that Stephens did tell me theyd allow me to buy the catalytic converter at cost and they would replace it @ no charge. I feel thats the least that can be done considering all. Ive got a $1300 bill total and I havent even had the car for a full 30 days! Next time I will shop at a dealership. I would not recommend this lot and I feel taken advantage of.

I picked up my used 2009 Dodge Van today. I enjoy the process of buying vehicles. Ive been doing it for a long time. I was in need of a quality used Dodge Van at a reasonable price for my Son and Daughter-in-Law. I found what I was looking for at Stephens Automotive. I spent a considerable amount of time researching the "everyday" automotive websites, prior to going to Stephens Automotive. I selected Stephens Automotive, based on their good selection of quality used vehicles at a fair price. The fact that theyve been in business for many years was also very important to me. Jeff Stephens was wonderful to work with. Not the high pressure type. A person with integrity, trustworthiness and is family oriented. I will highly recommend to friends and others that they consider Stephens Automotive for their next vehicle purchase. Its a family owned business, so be prepared to have a conversation with Jeffs Mom, Debbie. Too much fun! FYI..Im taking my truck in to Stephens Automotive next week to have it detailed, based on the really good job of detailing they did on my van. Thank you, Jeff!

We had a great experience with the whole staff in buying our Armada. They were very friendly, courteous, mindful of our time, and ultimately gave us what we thought was a fair deal on the purchase and our trade-in. One thing we really appreciated was that they pointed out a necessary repair on our trade that we hadnt noticed, before we even started getting into the purchase process. It was reassuring to know that he was looking out for our safety on the road, even if we chose not to purchase from them. Throughout the entire process, all staff consistently gave us a status report on where things were at in the transaction, instead of feeling like the endless wait times with no updates that weve experienced with larger dealers. Theyve also been great after the transaction with more than one of them saying to call with any questions or assistance, unlike some dealers that are like ghosts after you drive off the lot. Thanks to the whole staff! We love the Armada!

You, if you are like me, are always apprehensive about taking your car in somewhere to be worked on. That pesky, check engine soon light comes on and instantly you get visions of dollars signs in your head and my first thoughts were always, "I just know they are going to gouge and rip me off !" Wouldnt it be nice IF you knew somewhere you could take it and NOT have to worry about those things ? Well, GOOD NEWS ! Now there is ! Stephens Automotive. Whether you need another good, reliable car at a "decent" price or you just want the engine light thing to go away, they will meet your needs. I have dealt with them for years without a single problem or worry. 2 trucks and running great ! My youngest daughter is on her 5th car/truck (I think) from them and they are the only place she will go now too. Family owned and family run. You cant ask for any more then that !! Give them a try.

You know that feeling when you find a doctor or a lawyer you trust enough to give your complete loyalty to? Your mechanic should also be one of those people. For me, Stephens Automotive has always taken care of me. They get me scheduled in a timely matter, they call me with the estimate before any parts are ordered or any work done. Most work is done same day. Should they run into unexpected problems, work is put on pause and I get an immediate phone call to discuss my options. After the repair, the bill is what they quoted. NO SURPRISES! I love that they offer a loaner vehicle at a minimal cost. Friendly, fast service. Reliable and trustworthy. Dont feel beholden to the dealerships, you can trust Stephens Automotive for your next repair.

I had the most awesome experience at Stephens. My A/C was not working like it should, I called to see if they do these kind of things, Debbie said yes we do and found out they do all kinds of things. Had an appt. the next day (was running late, called Debbie said no problem). Dropped my car off with a $10 loaner. They called to let me know what was wrong and how much it would cost, to know I have a legitimate mechanic that will do the job and not have to bring it back is worth its weight in gold to me. I have been looking for an honest mechanic since I have moved to Iowa 4 years ago. I have found my place and the best part is they are a mom and pa shop, local and are there for their customers. What a relief. Now my A/C is perfect. Thank you
