The worst place I have ever been to. My husband and I needed a car because he had orders and HAD to leave the next day and these people took advantage of us. They sold us a 2004 ford escape with about 150,000 miles on it for 8 grand. Neither me or my husband knew much about cars or blue Kelley book or anything so we thought it was a good deal. Not even 3 months went by when we started having problems. Our battery died and wouldnt hold charge so right there we needed a brand new battery. Couldnt drive it for about 2 months. After the 2 months the brakes started to shake and werent working as well as they used to.Didnt drive it til we went to get a new car. We then drove to get a new car because the ford was getting to be unreliable and on the way back our car kept cutting off again and again. After several attempts we got the car working and on the highway back home our brakes went out completely! We looked at the brake pads and there was nothing on them! To add to it all, the emergency brake jammed up so we had absolutely no brakes on the highway we just slowed down. So after fixing the brakes we had a few more months go by and then our engine started having knocking noises. Turns out the engine rod bearrings broke and we now need a new engine. To add insult to injury im pretty sure our transmission is having problems too seeing how when we give it gas it goes no where. We called them when the engine was broke and they said nothing but oh well you could call C.A.R.S. about your warranty we cant do anything about that. To which we never realized that we have a crappy warranty. We even got some paper In the mail saying our ford was on a recall list to fix engine and cruise control issues that made the gas pedal stick to the bottom of the floor causing car crashes that they shouldve repaired at Ford. They did it for free! Now when we go on their website or any other website we see ford escapes costing about $3500-$4995. WHY WAS OURS SO MUCH?!?!? It was dirty inside as if someone just walked in a dirt field. The radios cd player doesnt even work. We paid over 8 grand total, still paying it off and we havent driven it for about 2 or 3 years because we cant afford to fix it. Im seeing reviews on here now about how people buy cars with bad brakes. I HATE THIS PLACE!! They should not PLAY WITH PEOPLES LIVES AND SELL PEOPLE DANGEROUS CARS WITH BRAKES DOWN TO THE GROUND AND HAVE EVERYTHING ELSE FALL APART! WE WERE TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF BECAUSE OF OUR YOUNG AGE, LACK OF KNOWLEDGE AND TIME!! IM NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN! I wish I could open up a lawsuit and sue them!

So I test drove a car at Frieling on Saturday and talked to Jack. SUPER nice guy, didnt bug me and try and push cars on me. They were about to close and I was pretty sure I was going to buy this $15,000 car just had to go to the bank Monday and have them check out my trade in. Well come Monday the bank said I could have the money and ect Well I then got to talk to Wayne. He offered me some (not a lot) for my trade in. They offered me about 2000 less than KBB said my car was worth in trade in. Wayne wasnt my favorite.. He is like almost every other car salesman that I HATE. Pushy, out to make money ECT. But I really loved this 2011 Equinox, it was a good deal ect. Well they dont offer car faxes or anything so I figured I would get it check out by my mechanic in Wamego. When we got it picked up and to Wamego, it started to shake when we turned it off. So after I paid $24 to get it check out, comes to turn out theres a RATS NEST in the engine area and something with the fuel injectors. We take it back to Frieling and pretty much say if you fix this stuff and have it fully checked out that a rat didnt chew through the wires wed buy it. I was in love with the look and everything of this car! Well he got defensive and made us go across the road to his a**hole mechanic who blew the rats nest out of the engine area and pretty much called our mechanic stupid. Ive known Paul my whole life and hes always done good with our cars so it kind of bothered me that he said that. So after they both got their "Oh theres nothing wrong with it" blah blah WHEN THE CAR SHOOK BAD WHEN YOU TURNED IT OFF, theres nothing wrong with it. We went back across the road told him we would think about it and then hes like well we cant hold it blah blah. We also test drove some other cars that were "mechanically sound" that the brakes grinded and other things. Wouldnt recommend at all. Hes out for money! Jack was a nice guy, Wayne and his mechanic = RUDE

This company doesnt clean, shine, and make pretty what they have. They buy at auctions and sell as is. They dont have history on the car, the less they know the better for them. If you are smart and do your research before going to the lot you will be fine. If you wander in hoping someone will give you a great deal because you have no idea what you are buying, dont go. Test drive the vehicle, take an internet capable phone and look up the VIN number, look under the hood before you test drive, look under the vehicle for issues. Taking it to a mechanic is smart. Used is used and you have to have your guard up. This company isnt looking out for you they are a business wanting a profit. Are they shady, I dont think so. Do they hope you are young and dont look up KBB or have someone with you, yes just like every other used car dealership. I purchased an old truck knowing full well what I was getting myself into because I test drove it to the mechanic before buying, had a friend look at it, and did my research. I also did not pay sticker price and dont believe anyone should. The front brakes were very bad, and I reduced the price of the truck by the amount of the brakes, knowing they were bad.

After several frustrating weeks of searching for dependable and affordable vehicles, first for my mom who was rear ended, then for me (the idiot who tried to drive a clunker to Colorado) it was a relief to meet with Wayne Frieling. We have been through 5 vehicles in four years and we did not have much faith in the car industry anymore. It was as if he knew the world of cars had done us wrong and he was the super hero there to save us from our misery. He was straight up, nice, listened to all of our concerns, anwsered all of our questions (we had a lot!), and when we finally found a wonderful vehicle we wanted to buy, he offered us an unbeatable warranty to go with it. It was the peace of mind we were looking for. We didnt walk away feeling swindled or cheated like most car places, we walked a way breathing a sigh of relief. We had found a car we could count on. Wayne took the time to find us exactly what we needed. It didnt stop there. He checked back with us and made sure he fixed any concerns we did have after driving the car for a few days. (We really didnt have any but it was great to have that reassurance!) I highly recommend Frieling Auto Sales. Both their cars and service are unbeatable!
