Lost business over a tire. My car salesmen was awesome. I actually have never felt so comfortable buying a car. When I got home I noticed that one of my tires was a different manufacturer then the other 3 tires. I went up there the following business day assuming that they would just change the tire because it made me uncomfortable and got quite the opposite reaction. The Sales Manager basically talked down to me about tread and size and what not when I could care less about the tire being the same size and tread. I am a girl, I wanted my tires to match. The deal i received on the vehicle should have been irrelevant. The replacement of two of my tires would have kept a very happy customer, referral business as well as repeat business. I will be cancelling my warranty and using an outside source so you will be losing more money now then just replacing a couple tires to keep a new buyer happy. What a poor business move. If I had noticed it before I had bought the vehicle, it would have gotten worked out in the deal some how before I walked off the lot. The Sales Manager told me he wouldnt have done before selling me the vehicle either which is a load of crap. We all know if I had pointed at that tire and said, "change that and we got a deal" it would have been changed. He also insulted me by saying it wasnt about money, it was about keeping me happy. Then the tires should have just been replaced no questions asked. Im obviously more insulted now then happy. Following is my PUBLIC postings on all social media outlets: Do not buy a car from Ray Skillman--- I dont think I can trust someone who will jeopardize a good customer relationship over a stinkin tire. It doesnt matter all the car jargan of same size crap. I want my effing tires to match and shouldnt have to pay for it since they would have matched before I drove off the lot if I had noticed. Dropping $150-$200 aint nothin for a dealership when they make more then that off the warranty alone, but it is for a middle class american that just bought a car that will have to get plates and now pay almost $300 a month. What a horrible business move. My car will never see the inside of that service department, I will now be purchasing a warranty from an outside company and cancelling theirs. There will be no referrals or repeat business from me. OVER A TIRE. smh. What ever happened to "keep your customers happy and you gain loyalty and a following?" IDIOTS. 4 out of 5 dealerships that I called this morning told me to bring the car in right away and they would replace two tires no questions asked, then I told them I didnt buy the car from them and they laughed at me! Ray Skillman messed up. Sad because the salesmen was awesome. Most comfortable buying experience I have ever had. I hardly noticed my payment being 78 dollars higher a month than planned. Congratulations Ray Skillman you lost someone who could have been a very loyal customer. *In addition.... When I went to buy my tire from the place I have been going to for years, know and trust... all four of my tires were bald and I ended up having to spend $530.97 on a set of tires. I went in to cancel my warranty and explain why I was doing as such and to show the receipt. The finance managers words were, "I guess we just cant do anything right." How professional was that? Still, I have never received a phone call, or an apology of any kind. I guess this dealership is so used to everything going right, that when something goes wrong they could care less about the customer. Once again, thanks for nothing.

Unexpectedly, my car broke down and was forced to buy a new car. Not having any luck with used cars in the past, my anxiety when up, as Ive never had a good experience with buying a car. I always educate myself on features/type of car I want and even read the "Tips to Avoid" pages, so I dont leave like usual feeling that I didnt get a good deal. On Sept. 12th, 2013, I walked into Ray Skillman Hyundai and was approached by a salesman, Harrison. We talked a bit and then took a test drive of a new 2013 Elantra. This was only the second dealership in my search to enter. He was the first salesman that Ive ever dealt with that was not high-pressure or tried to up-sale me into something I wasnt wanting. He did manage to get me to do a few options and politely asked for the sale. I felt like Harrison was treating me right and I didnt want to look any more, so I nervously agreed to a price that for the first time ever I did OK on. Next, we moved to financing the car and Jay helped me out. This is the part where they try and get you on the extended service plan, which I never get. I told Jay that if it wasnt for Harrison, I would not be there talking to him about financing. I had already been pre-approved by my bank, but Jay said he could do better. Jay was patient and helped me talk myself into the service plan. After asking if this was the absolute best deal they could give me, signed on the dotted line. Feeling I was overall getting a good deal went home with a new car. I had to come back to have the Ziebarting and a remote starter put in. The service people were all very nice and professional. I get my new car and the next day I see that there was a better financing package available. Frustrated and feeling now like I didnt get the best deal, I called Jay up and asked what he could do. He made some calls and within an hour told me to stop by that new paperwork would be ready for the new financing. I go tonight to sign and feel that a good deal has become a great deal! I highly recommend this dealer and the above mentioned people. They were professional, nice to talk with, and helpful in getting me the car I wanted. At this point in time, Id not even consider going anywhere else to buy a car and will tell others of how they treat potential buyers. I hope this car and future scheduled maintenance appointments are this easy and the people are this nice and helpful. Thank you again for making this a stress-free and pleasant experience! My wife and I recently purchased a 2011 Hyundai Tucson at Skillmans Westside Auto Mall, and without a doubt, it was the most pleasant car shopping experience that weve had in our 31 years of marriage. We came into the dealership wanting to buy a gently used car, eventhough my wife really had no idea what kind of car she wanted (we were primarily shopping for her a car since Im a truck guy, and my current truck is fairly new and in great shape). Anyway, our salesman (John Leamnson) did the impossible, he narrowed down (after much questioning, and more importantly, a great deal of listening of what she wanted, or at least what she thought she wanted) our car search to 4 different models (which he very patiently let her test drive). Our test drives were right out of Goldilocks, one was to large, one was to small, and our Tucson was just right, and even in my wifes favorite color. After being at the dealership for some time, we were running late (we had an evening grandparent babysitting obligation for our daughter and son in law), so our salesman arranged to park my truck around back, and we drove the Tucson home for the evening. After driving our future car home that evening, we were convinced that Leamnson had stirred us in the right direction, and we returned the following day to buy our car. We also need to say kudos to the finance guy (I cant remember his first name, but his last name was Canary). We paid cash for our car, but Mr. Canary was most helpful in walking us through the extra warranty options that were available (we purchased the extended warranty that gives us bumper to bumper coverage until 11/11/20). After we finished up the necessary paperwork, I needed to leave due to another obligation, but my wife spent additional time with Leamnson learning how to properly use (especially the phone sync system) all of the Tucsons bells and whistles. In closing, I have to again state that purchasing our car from Skillman was wonderful. Our salesman was very thoughtful and we were especially impressed that he took the time to figure out the kind of car that my wife wanted, and at the price range we were looking for (speaking of price, our final purchase price was more than fair based on the internet searches, via: Edmunds, NADA, and Kelly Blue Book). We will certainly recommend Skillmans to our friends that are considering purchasing a new or used car. Johnny and Peggy Alderman, Indianapolis, IN
