I had an issue already once with this place a year ago in that my mothers car had broke down on the way to work on a rainy day. We had it towed too Classic toyota waukegan. well at that time in speaking with the staff, in particular one staff member named Jerry, she was told that there was water all through the car causing the problem which I could understand since it was a rainy day but her car had been parked in her garage and it broke down on her way to work only 10mins away but Classica toyota told us the water had come from the inside like maybe someone spilled water inside or the sun roof was left opened because there was so much water that it couldnt have just been taken in from the bottom of the vehicle... the problem there is she doesnt even have a sun roof and we didnt have anyone riding in the back of her car for a spill to have happened especially the amount of water they were telling us it all did not add up unless someone took a hose and poured water into the inside of the vehicle which its our car and a means of getting to work for my mother so of course no person in their right mind would do that to their own car. BUT somehow toyota found this amount of water in the vehicle and quoted us an amount around $1700 to dry and get the right parts in. As you can imagine I was left very uneasy the whole Classic toyota experience and their "diagnostics" to me was so shady and sketchy not to mention unreal knowing nothing we ourselves had put that car through to get that kind of diagnostics back had happened. So i refused service and had the car towed to Carmax for a second opinion. And low and behold that wasnt the problem Carmax found it was a system battery that we needed and only paid $400 compared to the $1000+ Classic toyota Waukegan quoted us. Now a year later my moms car flashed a maintenance sign it did not break down but it scared her enough to stop on the side of the road and call a tow truck she works on the naval base and was scared to park inside and have to get it towed out would be a hassle so she parked and called for a tow her insurance towed it to the closest place unfortunately this was classic toyota :( well of course Jerry is the person she got to argue with and he scolded her saying "its the exact same problem from last year there is water and sand everywhere the place you took it to didnt do anything theres still water everywhere!" Well last time my mom made a claim with her insurance so we called the insurance they sent a rep to do an inspection and run test which was great because then we would have the truth. We got a quote of $400 from toyota this time to just take the car apart and "dry the water" and clean well we waited and when the results came back it was all the proof we needed this "water" and this incident was not related at all to last years. So sorry Jerry guess it wasnt the same problem you hoped to rub in our face to make it seem like the overpriced service you try to push on people is less shady. Once again we refused their sketchy ass service and had it pulled but of course not without a $800 charge that was quoted half that originally. PLEASE PLEASE NEVER TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO CLASSIC TOYOTA WAUKEGAN!

This dealership has lost my business. The unprofessionalism and b.s. of one technician and a bad warranty coverage has completely destroyed my faith in the entire dealership. This has ruined a trust that has been built over decades with an entire family buying vehicles and having them serviced here. The facts: the car was brought in by my lady for 25000 mile service. A right rear tire on a 2013 camry was discovered to have a corrosion issue with the hardware holding it together causing uneven wear. This prompted the tech to tell her that it needed to be replaced for $250. She, unfortunately, authorized it before telling me. Corrosion of anything that isnt a body panel, is NOT covered under the toyota manufactuer warranty. Back to explanation including opinion, when i called to ask the technician what the issue was exactly he explained it. I began to ask why this wasnt covered under warranty which led to him talking back to me and over me. I disagreed saying that corroision on newer car years ahead of expectation is a mechanical failure of the vehicle and should be covered. The tech began speaking over me and ignoring what i was trying to say. I raised my voice after being talked over repeatedly and told him he needed to shut the hell up and listen for a second. Which is wrong, yes, but i dont take well to being ignored and talked over when i am asking for justification on a lack of performance of a product, especially when its costing me $250. He disconnected the call (on her cell phone). Brakes are designed to last at least double and more likely triple the amount they did in this case. The uneven wear on the pads is a mechanical failure of the hardware, not a wear and tear issue and thus should be covered. They refused to stop the repair and send it home as well, as it was already authorized and under way. From the warranty not covering what it should, to the dealership not standing by a car and brand it has sold, to the unprofessionalism of the mechanic, and them offering no concession what so ever for an issue that i couldve easily fixed better (because they just shaved the rotors where i probably wouldve just placed them, not to mention using better hardware than thier already failed once manufactuerer replacement) for less than half the price. Throw in the fact that i later found out the issue had only just started and the problem wasnt that bad, this service failed in nearly every category. To be complete in my review i will offer the only saving grace. Jerry the assistant manager for service and Gabriel, if being unable to offer anything even remotely useful to actually mitigating the issue, were at least professional, curteous, and respectful. Kudos to them for that because they had the ticked off me to deal with after the first talk.

I have a very interesting relationship with car dealerships as a whole, I dont like them and they dont like me. I have always felt its like trying to talk to Sinatra about maybe seeing it my way for a change. Then Classic Toyota comes along like a spring breeze in the middle of winter carrying with it the fresh fragrance of daffodils and lilacs, blue sky and temperatures you are not talking about every time you step outside. The popcorn is fresh, the coffee delicious and water filtered, what more could a guy as for in the first 4 1/2 minutes of walking through the door. Well, instead of feeling like you just walked into a beehive, like most dealerships, trying to figure out how not to get dipped in honey and stung before escaping with your life, Classic is CLASSY right down to their nameplates and polished shoes. Not a bad apple in the bunch, I have never experience a group people who not only know about the cars they sale, "oh, yes this has 250 hp, blah, blah." but genuinely wanted to get to know me as a person first, it was like I was some long lost brother they hadnt seen in 20 years. How is the wife and kids, the vacation we took last summer, hows your golf game, hey lets go out and hit a few sometime. I can see why people have been working here for 15 years, and buying cars here for 15 years, its family! So, what you say? What about buying a car here? Well, they asked me what I really wanted to buy, I told them what I wanted. Answer, well find it for you, period, it wasnt even a Toyota. Two days later I got a call, "you want to come over and take a look?" Stunned is putting mildly. Next was signing the line. Most times when it comes to meeting with the finance department, you would rather run through a field of thistles. Not here, they make all the paperwork seem as effortless as sitting on the beach and getting a tan. To seal the deal as I was walking out the door with the keys in my hand, Mr. J was standing there looking at my wheels and asked, "first time here?" "No, actually my 2nd and I dont think I will every look at another place every again." I said. He smiled, "Ive been buying cars here for 20 years... you play golf?" My hats off to Jim Hudson, Mark Andrews, Mark Saddaca, Leo in sales, Adam in Service, and the rest of the lot, no pun intended!
