Advice: Dont buy from Palmen. However, if you want to get the real experience of a stereotypical used dealership like you see on TV- this is the place. They will sell vehicles with known problems like check engine lights and sell you warranties that dont apply to you and your vehicle. On our test drive the check engine light came on. I told them I could not buy a vehicle with a check engine light on. They said they would repair the issue and let me know of the status. I received a confirmation email the following day saying the issue had been resolved. They told me they would warranty any work they do on the vehicle "as good faith". Right before I started the paperwork process Pete told me they WOULD NOT warranty the fix that was promised to me by another manager. I bluntly told Pete "Its not my reputation on the line." Once I had literally signed all loan paper work; changed and paid for my insurance for the new vehicle; and had my plate physically transferred to the new vehicle, I was sat back down to be informed the check engine light came back on BEFORE I had even signed the papers. They then sent me home in my OLD car which was no longer insured and with the plates that were already physically transferred to my new vehicle. When I came back the next day, the sales men were rude when I had asked for my sales rep. When I asked about the status of my vehicle, they told me this Pete had taken it to the GMC Palmen, up the road on HWY 50, to have it repaired as that dealership had the correct diagnostic tools and actually knew before performing tests that the issue was "known problem" by GM. After the repair, he drove it to Milwaukee to see if he could get the check engine light back on. Instead of the check engine light coming on, he gave me a ding in my hood and two chips in my windshield. As far as the warranties: one out the two warranties they sold me is partially identical to the other one and the rest doesnt apply to me due to the condition in which they sold me my vehicle (per the fine print). I brought this up to a manger and he try to pull the old sales trick to "make you see the positive side" of the ordeal. They even said Pete shouldnt work with customers. To end this 3 month, overdue review: After I shared this experience with others, I heard they had the same kind of experience with buying their vehicle at Palmen. If youre into gambling- go to Palmen and buy a vehicle. If you walk out of there with a "positive" experience either you are one of the lucky ones and should try Vegas or you havent discovered what has been hidden from you. I will assume the latter. I would rate Palmen no stars but Google has the one star as "Hated it" and that sums up my first car buying experience.

I thought I would just jot down a few of my observations from my service experience last Saturday. I have owned cars now for almost 3 decades and I had a superior car service experience at Palmen. I arrived on time and the Service Executive immediately asked to help me, checked the car, and we talked through the type of service I should get – I decided on the 15,000 mile package. My mileage was at 22,000 and I have only had one oil change at at a different dealership and that was a bad service experience (that’s one of the reasons that I decided to try Palmen). She asked me if I had any questions – I did, there was a peg that fell out of glove compartment and asked her to take a look at that and whether that could be easily fixed. She added that to the computer notes. A gentleman put a plastic cover over my front driver’s seat. Nice touch. She set an expectation for one hour and 20 minutes give or take. She also set my expectation that they would check the filter (airflow into car) and that it might need to be changed. I went to the waiting room which was clean and I read and watched football on a nice flatscreen TV on the wall. Went to the restroom during my stay – very clean as well. The Service Executive came to me in the waiting room at about an hour and told me that they recommended changing the filter, I said go ahead. After another 20 minutes, the Service Executive came to get me. She introduced me by name to the person who would help me pay the bill. She walked through the entire invoice line by line telling me what had been done and asked me if I had any questions. I did about tire wear and when she thought I might need new tires. I was impressed with her knowledge on the subject and how she immediately knew what my tire wear was (seriously ridiculous – who knows that!). She suggested that I may need new tires before Winter 2013. I got my key, paid the bill, and walked out to see my car very well washed and sparkling. The service experience at Palmen is outstanding and they made me feel important.

I stopped into Palmen Motors looking for a specific Chrysler vehicle I had located on their website - I live in Milwaukee, but couldnt find quite what I was looking for there. I had e-mailed the dealership about the vehicle and to get a price quote.I received the information I needed promptly and so I decided to stop into the dealership in mid afternoon, with no appointment. I was introduced to Mark Jensen, and he took the time to have the car brought up to the showroom area and let me first look it over and then we went for a test drive. Mark answered all my questions and pointed out many of the cars features during the test drive. I knew this was pretty much the car I wanted and I let him know. He had my trade in appraised in short order and then it was on to see the finance man. This was my second pleasant surprise - no high pressure sales tactics or trying to push extras that I didnt really want. Joe was very professional and explained all my options and had all my paperwork ready in short order. Meanwhile, the car was already being prepped for delivery, even while Mark was already involved in delivering a vehicle to another customer. I bought my first new vehicle in 1978 (and very many since) and can honestly say that this was the most pleasant and professional buying experience I have ever had. I think from the time I walked in to the time I drove away in my new vehicle, it was like less than 3 hours- Amazing! It was well worth the 30+ mile drive from Milwaukee! These folks really have their act together. I will definitely recommend Palmen Motors to friends and co-workers.

Over the weekend my boyfriend and I went in to look at two separate vehicles... He started out with a 2009 CTS 4 which was in phenomenal condition however he began toying with the idea of new so we went from lot of lot viewing the options. After test driving 5 different cars and crunching the numbers he chose to stick with his original choice of the 2009 CTS 4. I had gone in to view a 2010 Jeep Wranger which too was in excellent condition however it didnt offer me the "gotta have it" the team was very understanding and helped me define what it was that I was truly looking for and it was found in the 2013 Jeep Wrangler. At this time we had run out of time because we had gone from lot to lot viewing all of our options. I had to go back on Monday to finalize all of the paper work and be able to walk out with my new car. I had gone up all alone and was walking out with my new car meaning I would have an hour drive back with someone else to grab my old car. The staff was so wonderful that they even offered to have it delivered to my home to simply make things easier on me and my family. All in all the staff was wonderful at all of the dealership sites, they make certain that they are taking the best care of you and holding the company name in addition to vehicle brand at a high level. When it comes time I will be returning to Palmen Motors for my next vehicle choice.
