I have been bringing my dogs to this Petsmart for years. Groomers knew all my dogs by names, etc...They even call me every 30 days for the reminder to bring my dogs in for grooming, all fine and dandy, right? Wrong! About a week ago I called to schedule an appointment and lady who answered the phone said that they dont have any info in their computer as far as my dogs rabies vaccinations are concerned...I was shocked! Considering that all that information was provided a long time ago, about 2 years ago because my dogs rabies vaccinations are for 3 years. I asked her how come they had it all this time and all of the sudden its missing. She told me that its not a big deal, they can call my vet next time and to just go ahead and bring the dogs in. So I drove all the way from South Loop to Vernon HIlls on Saturday morning with my dogs to come there and get a nasty attitude from the intake groomer as well as the store manager who coudlnt be more than 20 years old telling me that they cant take my dogs in without proof of rabies vaccinations. I had to stand there, be completely embarassed in front of other customers with my dogs being nervous and scared, not understanding what was going on because they get anxiety as it is everytime I leave them, they are both rescue dogs. There were no explanations, no apologies, no valid reason why previously provided information was lost, why they have been taking my dogs all this time without rabies verification, the fact that I was lied to on the phone by their own groomer...Long story short, if you love your pets and your dignity, stay away from this place.

This review is in regards to the doggie day camp. I took my dog here yesterday after having not such a good experience at a different dog hotel ( not a Petsmart) and was so pleased with the positive change. The staff was very helpful and kind both in person and on the phone and my dog was so tired when I picked her up I could tell she had been playing all day. The Paw report was really nice and something I did not receive but was looking for at the other place. The only downside I had was I was told she had leftover food in her bowl that I brought but they did not give it back to me and the cost was a few dollars more then I was told on the phone. I was told $18 and charged $22. I cant complain though because there were coupons in her paw report and I know she was well taken care of all day.

Dont EVER take your dog here for a nail cut or grooming!! Took our dog in Today for a nail cut and was rudely greeted and huffed at because they were busy and we were going to cause them to do their job. Then in the background heard them yelling at dogs to sit down in a very mean way. Then when the two girls couldnt handle a dog getting his nails cut they called over a guy who didnt even look like he worked there because he was not in a PetSmart uniform and just sitting in the back of the grooming shop on his cell phone. He then roughly handled the dog and the dog was yelping as he cut one of his toe nails. I will never leave my dog in the care of people that treat animals that way. If you cant handle animals you shouldnt be working there!

Management is not very friendly. Bought a decor item that had a hidden little crevasse inside, which I dont think is normal. My betta got stuck in it and drowned. I bought that betta a year ago at a petsmart but that didnt matter to them. They reimbursed me for the decor item, but not the fish it killed, which was still trapped inside the decor (couldnt get him out). Woman showed no sympathy and seemed downright annoyed with me. I loved that fish. Petsmart may have not directly killed it, but it sold a faulty product that cost my fishs life. And it added salt to the wounds that they didnt seem to care at all. Havent went back since.

the items and staff are pretty good, but the things they do can be pretty shady. A quick example is that they offer to email your receipt instead of printing one out. That is something you should not do in the off chance you need to make a return, as they do not honor the email as a valid receipt. They will take the product but not credit you back on how you paid, they will just give you a store credit. Nothing wrong with that as I will need it in a week or two but why offer something as a receipt and not honor it in the future. Pretty shady...

Ive been coming to this store for a few months, and the overall experience has been great. We bought food, treats, and accessories and there was always someone available and willing to help us choose the best and most affordable product for our dog. Prices are a bit high, but theres a lot of variety to choose from. Took our dog to puppy lessons with Taylor and he was the best!

Didnt have the Iams Healthy Weight food. Took my back up to the register, no cashier. Waited a few minutes, called to see if one was nearby, waited, called again. Nothing. Then she walked over and had been standing about 20 feet away by the guinea pigs. Had completely ignored me. No apology either. Will never visit here again. Ever.

Store employee very unhelpful answering any questions about the cats which are up for adoption. Unwilling to actually show any of the cats and couldnt even take a moment to find out basic information about the cats . If you dont want to deal with the adoption, dont have them in the store then.

My puppy came back from his first haircut acting lethargic and feeling poorly. I chalked it up to stress, but he developed diarrhea which lasted more than a week. I dont know for sure if its the salons fault, but I wont go back there.

For me petsmart is expensive but the people here were just awesome. Seemed to me that the people here are here for the animals and not so much the people and for this type of place I think thats a must.

Would give 0 stars. Their grooming salon is the most filthy room. And their customer service is way worse, I dont know where they find these people but do your pets a favor and take them elsewhere.

Sold me expired food. I called the store and spoke with the manager. He was anything but nice and questioned me whether or not the food was really expired.
