I must give a 5 star review to bakery manager ADAM MONTELONGO,. I purchase about 2 cakes per month for my client/team meetings and on Friday 02/20/2015 I personally came into HEB bakery to place an order for a birthday cake for a client and after spending 20-25 minutes speaking to an employee at the bakery she wrote all my request down quoted me a price of $25.00 and handed me a yellow slip after instructing me that my cake would be ready by 10:00am following day, Sat. 02/21/2015. on Saturday morning 9:00am I get a call on my cell phone from another young lady asking what my request for the cake were and quoted a price of $68.00??? it followed by an excuse that the person I spoke to the day before was not going to be the same person baking /creating the cake therefore I was given all incorrect information. After I pretty much exploded as politely as I possibly could a very professional gentleman by the name of ADAM picked up the call and first words were an apology followed by dont worry, we will have your cake ready and it will be $25.00! I will continue to shop for all my grocery needs and continue to purchase my 2 cakes per month for my meetings as well as any birthday, holiday cookies, chocolate dipped strawberries and any additional sweets I can find for my teams but ONLY BECAUSE HEB GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND TO DELIVER EXCELLENCE SERVICE EACH AND EVERY TIME. People usually write reviews when service is poor but I truly believe that proper credit should be given to all those who wake up every morning and give 110% even when no one is looking.. so thank you ADAM. thanks to u I am a satisfied customer and will continue to send as many customers your way.

I cannot believe the level of service that was provided upon my arrival at the store. After noticing a confusing re-model, I asked an employee to direct me to the baking necessities. They managed to tell me a completely incorrect aisle, and it took me two more attempts before I could find assistance. All the while, the customers themselves were crass and insensitive, standing in the middle of aisles and preventing the flow of traffic. They would ignore me until I was forced to raise my voice, and would look at me in disgust, wishing that I could never see them again. Next, upon looking for a specific shade of my lilac nail polish, I asked an employee working in the Cosmetics session if they could help, only to be cut off with a quick "I dont work around here, youll have to find someone who does" before they ran off. After nearly 20 minutes I managed to find the appropriate employee, they informed me that they were out of stock, then informed that it would be out for the next week. All in all, I hope to never return to this location.

I have, by far, had the worst experience at the Buffalo Speedway store yesterday. I called to check to see if they had Sanpelligrino Orange or Lemon flavor in the stock and neither person that answered the phone was willing to look to see if they had it available. They just said ‘no’, when, in fact, a previous representative said that it was available just 2 days before. I had the call escalated so that I could speak to the manager. He, James Yao, was absolutely unhelpful and said he had no idea what the product was, he wasn’t familiar with the store, and he said that he was some substitute manager since the “real” manager was on vacation. I typically expect more from this HEB; however, I suppose it’s just like all the others at this point. If James Yao were replaced with someone competent, they would certainly be better off.

I was silly enough to lose my car keys here and spent a very long time stuck here on Aug 8, 2014 trying not to panic. While two other managers were not very interested/concerned in helping me find my keys, I want to say that the manager Chis here was excellent. He asked if there was anything they could do to help, and let me use his phone (since my phone died) to call for a lock breaking service so I could get important things from my car (house keys, laptop), an idea which he also suggested. He also asked if I wanted to leave my groceries in a fridge so they wouldnt spoil. Fortunately, I found my keys, but his kindness was not unnoticed. If they are looking to promote their managers to even high positions, I def say Chris would be a great choice.

Ive been coming here for almost 2 years and this is one of my favorite grocery stores in Houston. If you stop reading here, TRY THE FRESH ORANGE JUICE AND HEB BRAND OVEN BREAD! Pros: (+) Clean, organized, and beautiful store. (+) Great selection. (+) Fresh, ready made meals with great flavor that are ready in 18-22 mins. For example, salmon/cod/tilapia with included sides of potatos and/or broccoli. (+) The fresh juices are AMAAAZING! The orange juice is great on its own, and it also makes *killer* mimosas. (+) The HEB oven bread is great, it tastes almost like homemade bread and always gets compliments. (+) Open until 1 am every day Cons: (-) Parking is difficult to find during peak hours, but this isnt really anything that they can fix.

Im from Austin, and as such, I guess Im accustomed to HEB (and every other grocer and retailer) performing at a higher level then they seem to provide here in Houston. That being said, this is definitely the best HEB Ive been to in this area. It was clean, organized, had a decent fruit and produce selection, and the employees were definitely better quality than a lot of the employees throughout Houston I have met at HEBs and other retailers. I still think the HEBs in Austin, even in the lower socioeconomic areas (7th&PV), still meet or beat this one, but Thank you for providing me some resemblance of normalcy.

It was nice, but no nicer than the location on San Felipe. In fact, this location, while in an equally, if not more, affluent area, draws a lot more low income people than the San Felipe location, perhaps due to its proximty to the freeway. Whatever the cause, the cleanliness of the store suffers, and it is plainly evident. Nice enough selection, but still not as much as the Bunker Hill Village store has to offer.

This HEB is always so nice and organized! Once I couldnt find dates so I asked a worker in the produce area where they were he walked me over to where they should be and they only had one package left so he said hold one and went to the back and got me a new package! Wonderful customer service! Their bakery and sushi counter are amazing always have to get something every time I go!

Great location, fresh quality on everything. Staff is friendly and willing to help. Not gonna lie, the atmosphere is reflective of the type of neighborhood it is, so if youre not familiar with the West U scene, you might get a look or two, but thats no big deal to me. Always clean and there are car charging stations in the back of the parking lot (though Ive never seen them used)

I always run to this grocery chain during lunches, and despite being so busy due to their location in the commercial area, I always manage to get out on time and even grab lunch from their cafe. Even if you dont want to grab a bite, they have so many trials for customer to try that it can add up to a meal. Their produce is always fresh and worth every penny.
