I entered this shop earlier this week to inquire about a basket and tune-up for my new bike. Upon stepping in, the guy behind the counter looked up once and went back to what he was doing behind the counter. My boyfriend and I browsed a couple of bikes because hes in the market for a bike. When we reached the front...the guy behind the counter finally spoke to ask if he could help us. I mentioned the basket and he just pointed up to their small selection of baskets on a wall. I then asked about tune-ups and he pointed me to a white sign with three options on the counter. The guy didnt ask me any questions about what kind of bike it was or anything. I guess it was too difficult to engage in anything more than motions even though we were the only "potential customers" in the store at the time. Everything about having a bike (from riding to purchasing) is a first time experience for me. I wanted to have a conversation with the guy, get some pointers...SOMETHING! So now Im going to try out Andys Cycle center...hopefully someone there will speak to me...

Staff seemed friendly at first but I got the impression that if I wasnt willing to buy a bicycle at that very moment then I wasnt allowed to even touch the bicycle. I didnt even get a test ride offered to me. This is what the owner said to me, "Are you buying or still just shopping? If youre still just shopping, come back when ready to buy and I will see what I can do (about pricing).". I will never ever go back there again and I encourage everyone else to not shop here as well. What a HORRIBLE bike shop!!!!! As a side note I was willing to purchase a bike if I found what I was looking for. The very next day I bought a Giant Contend SL Disc 1 for Hilltop bikes in Cranford. Great shop and very friendly and helpful staff. And they let you touch and test ride the bikes.

Great customer service.. The guy was very helpful with helping me purchase the right bike.. He explained to me the differences between the 2 bikes I was looking at and Im very happy with my decision.... First I went down the street to Andys and I was very disappointed, I dont even know why I went there cause every time I do, the father has no patience at all. He gets very grumpy and then he calls his son to come up front and he tries to make me buy a bike that Im not interested in... Im glad I went to New Jersey Cycles...

I have practically grown up in this Bike Shop. My father was a regular customer and we always came here to shop for all of our Bike Needs, since 1995. I came by to visit after a few years of not going, and Im shocked to see that its still owned by the same family! The service was always friendly, helpful, and just overall wonderful! They have never disappointed me or my family! Same family, Same great service! I continue to recommend this place to everyone in need of a repair or bike!

Never again would I go to purchase ANYTHING from this place. Both workers where rude and treated me horribly. Everything is over priced and they act like people dont know what there purchasing I be been dealing with bikes for years and I know what I need and they treated me like I didnt know what I was talking about. I can take apart and put a bike back together but thats not the point the point is the service sucks.

They deal with so many brands. You have a choice unlike other shops that only carry Trek. I got to pick the bike that I wanted not the bike that other shops want to move off the floor. They asked me so many questions to make sure I got the right bike. FIND MY BIKE SHOP
