UPDATE: Filed a BBB complaint and he responded by sending me a check in the mail to cover the parts. Glad that he finally did it, but I would stress caution to anyone who listens to him! It shouldnt have taken so long. There are better used car dealers out there, I just wish they had the car I wanted at the time. tl;dr: My car is good, but I wouldn’t recommend anyone else go to this guy since he doesn’t do what others would to fix small issues or prevent major ones and he is definitely untrustworthy. Dont expect this guy to take care of you after you give him your money. I went here to look at a 2007 Mazda 6. I didnt know what to think of this place since there werent many Google reviews. I called about the car and Rory said that I wouldnt be disappointed. That got my hopes, but also my suspicions up. When we got there the headliner was falling down, it was missing a fog light and an inner fender (which was easily hidden in the pictures), and the brakes and rotors were in terrible shape. The car was not cleaned well. Not going to lie, I was a little disappointed. I had been shopping around for cars for a few weeks so I knew exactly what I was looking for. I could work with this car, but it was a little higher than other cars in the same shape. When I told Rory about the issues I noticed he asked me what an inner fender was. That right there was a red flag. It seemed like he just didnt know about the car he was selling. He said he would help me out by buying and sending a fog light and inner fender to me (I live an hour away and barely drive to his neighbourhood). That was a bit more hopeful. After spending weeks seeing cars disappear right when I wanted to get them, I decided I would go with it. Rory told me to call him the following Monday to talk about the parts. I did and he said he would be getting them to me soon. I called him again the next week and he didnt pick up and didnt return my phone call. I called another two times within the next month and never heard back. I never received my license plate and when my temp plate fell off I called him and expressed that I was losing my patience with the lack of communication. I called again a few days later and finally got a hold of Rory. He said that he couldn’t find the parts cheap enough (I checked the prices online and he either doesn’t know how to shop for parts or is a liar). He should have already known the price of the parts before giving me his word that he would get them for me. He told me that I’d have to come by to get the plates because he never mails them and that this was discussed when I was there. I didn’t recall that and I asked my dad who was with me for the purchase and he says that he didn’t remember this either. I didn’t really care though, I made the drive since I needed to drive legally. Still haven’t heard back from him about the parts and I stopped wasting my time leaving messages on his phone. I’m leaving 2 stars because the car is decent, but it could have been much worse. The car clearly had either pets or a smoker in it and the smell was covered up (I didn’t notice it until a couple weeks after I bought it). Rory didnt really inspect the vehicle well and it seems like he didn’t do anything with it. I changed the oil shortly after I got it because I didn’t have a good feeling about it and the oil and filter was gross. At the time I didn’t check the Facebook reviews (a lot of which are low), but if I knew at the time I probably would have avoided him.

Update: Rory showed up at 5pm I didnt get my money until around 5:20. He acted like everything was ok. I had to call him because he says he didnt know I was sitting right in front of his business with the car on. He claims he didnt know I was in front. And then tells me he has been there for about 45 min which was a lie because I seen him walk to the door at 5:00 unlocked the door and was in by 5:01. After I got the check and am on my way home he calls me pertaining to this review and threatened to call IRS because I failed to give him my license which he does not need. He tried to put me on a 1099 like if I worked for him. I told him I am my own business. There is no need for 1099. If a 1099 was needed then he should have gotten my info when I started doing business with him. He doesnt believe I am legit since I didnt want to provide him with my personal info. He laughed when I said I was going to involve the police and he said he isnt gonna hang up. Then I said stop harassing me, my phone record shows he called me and that is when he decided to hang up. I have been doing business with this place for a while and today is the last day i will be doing business with them. I was doing headlight restoration for his dealership and he had me coming back weekly and in most cases I have to wait to get paid. He claims that he dont know when I come by because he is never here. He was here today and left before we were done working. He says I have to go through shane but when Shane called his DAD (RORY), Rory hung up on his son when his son was asking him if he left a check for us. Of course he doesnt. Now Im sitting in the rain waiting to get paid. Rory tried to pull a fast one. He got stupid on the phone when I said this is his business so its his job to know what goes on there. Been done since 2:30 and its now 4pm. He said he would be here with in a hour. Guess who lied once again. I feel sorry for his actual employees and son who get treated like dirt. I do business with multiple dealerships and this is one of the dealerships with the worst customer service. My business consists of me, my girlfriend, and my little brother. Its a shame he takes advantage of people.

If i could give no stars i would. Bought a 2000 mercury sable with 69000 miles was informed nothing was wrong & test drived car but could no go far because i though the car was out of gas turns out the gas gauge was broke. After putting gas in car the check engine light came on. The sound of a rod knocking begin so i call rory and told him but i told him im not a mechanic but i think the is a rod knocking. Rory assured me that he would take care of it and not to worry. He sat up a tow truck to come get the car. His mechanic fixed 3 coils and assured us it was good now. Driving back bome the check engine light came on so i when to a local mechanic. A senor was replaced to fix one that had melted. I drove the car home and the check engine light came on again and the new sensor melted. I took the car to a other mechanic and he told me that the car need a new catalytic converter. I phoned rory and he said that the warranty that he put on it wouldnt cover and their nothing he would do. Afther some research according to Illinois state law a dealer can not sell a car that will not pass emissions. After another phone call to rory, which ended up being a dead end i contacted the Illinois attorney general and now pursuing legal action . TERRIBLE DEALER, DONT BUY FROM EPIC MOTORSPORTS.
