My husband and I went to the Home Depot, in Palatine, IL this evening. We had been told that their flooring department was the best of all the Home Depots in this area. It is, its a well stocked and fabulous selection of all kinds of flooring! We had purchased a tile at a different store, for the remodel of our kitchen, and brought it with us to check out the tiles we hadnt seen at the other smaller store. We were fortunate to find an employee, Alex helping another customer, and he said hed be back as soon as he could to help us. AND...he did! Alex is a very knowledgeable flooring person, we can attest to that! Not just tiles, but laminates, wood floors, you name it he knows what to buy and what to watch out for when installing it yourself. He gave us tips and tricks, that are beyond what any employee at any Big Box store, would even bother spending the time on. He is such an asset to the store, and I think they must know that because it turns out, he is the man there that speaks Russian as well! Handy, right? My husband and I wrote down all this new information, and kept on looking at the new decisions we now had to make! We took some samples of tile, and wood flooring to bring home, and All of a sudden, I had a terrible leg cramp!!! The Employees were wonderul. My husband got me a riding chair, and an employee bought me a cold coke, so Id be less nervous about the pain, and then just stayed with me, and was very kind,. I didnt get his name, but he was a young man, with dark hair, very Hip and very kind! So, the customer service is Top Notch in my book, and the amount of merchandise they have on the floor is Awesome! Palatine Home Depot is not the closest to my home, but it is the Home Depot I now will go to, because they have more, and the people there, are so nice and seem to really know what they are talking about!!! So, Try them, and I bet the person that wrote about poor customer service, could also recieve a review, about "what kind of customer" he was! lol. So, five stars, to the Palatine, IL Home Depot! That place is good to work at in the beginning. All the managers are amazing except one. The HR is one of the amazing people in the world she is the best. Management is amazing and really fun to work with. Until you have a manager named Mark walk arrround the place like he owns it. He is the biggest jerk you can work with. It can be amazing and fun until he showed up and makes your day a disaster. He thinks that he is worth 40 million but in real life he is worth sh**. He makes others feel bad about them selfs. I hated him and I still do he is such an idiot. And he is really good at talking about others behind their backs. Do not trust that person. The biggest thing is that he is hitting on younger girls working there. Its a good place to do your shopping arround because its cheap and people that works there are great. But there always has to be that one person that makes it horrible for you. Remember the name MARK and stay away from him.

The Home Depot in general has an elite selection of products, but the customer service is horrible especially at this particular location. I went into the Home Depot in Palatine with the intention to rent out a truck that I needed urgently. When I went to the service desk in the power tools rental department, the representative stared at me and after about two minutes the idiot finally said can I help you with with something. I told him that I needed a truck, and he said VERY RUDELY "FOR WHAT?" I told him to move a stove for my mother and he said again very discourteous of the urgency that I would have better luck at Uhaul. I wish I could have told that F**ker off but I had to go and move the stove for my mother. Anyways I wanted to make this notice public with the aim to uncover the appalling customer service that the Palatine Home Depot is providing its local customers.

Worst customer service at all. Stuff has zero idea and/or knowledge about their products and are unable to fix any mistakes if you order from them. Ive been waiting for my damn fridge since last week just to get a call yesterday to confirm that it was gonna be delivered today, to a wrong address. I called many times and spoke with different people just for them to tell me "oops, sorry cant change that"... well if you dont want my business which is obvious then Ill go to Best Buy who are still in contact with me (yup, even after I told them I got a fridge they still offer me great customer service... learn that) or any other store that will really appreciate my businesses. I canceled it since they did nothing to change the address. Going to Best Buy or abt this morning. Much better there and I will not wait 20 min for some one to come help me

They have successfully irritated me out of future business. Every time I am at home Depot I get approached by multiple people asking if they can just ask a question... "How is my kitchen? Do I want to replace my kitchen?" They seem to have two or 3 of these people floating around the store and I get asked multiple times on the same visit. NO. NO I DO NOT WANT A NEW KITCHEN. Ive considered strapping a note to my shirt before I enter the store announcing I do not want a new kitchen... But its just easier to take my business to Lowes and Menards where this nonsense dont exist. Hope you are making a killing on kitchens or at least enough to turn away people like me.

This store is not prepared to handle the amount of customers it receives on Saturday . I went in to get two pvc pipes cut and asked for assistance over and over again and kept getting rejected saying they will come in a bit and no one came, we asked 4 different associates and still nothing , it seems they really dont care .. Absolutely horrible experince to wait 30 minutes for someone to help you out .

I had a wonderful employee whose name escapes me help me with the rope there for a project I am doing. They salespeople are knowledgeable and nice people who go out of their way. I often fix things in this hellhole I rent myself and there is always someone to tell me what i need there. I need a new place to live in all reality but it the meantime they are lifesavers! This is Ulta for men!

I like to shop at Home Depot. But your paint department have one bad associate. Thats all it take for me to drop 4 stars to 1. Was waiting for 5 minutes and then the associate take care the other customer who was not in the line My advice for this associate: pay attention on your surrounding.
