Look Elswhere - Customer Service Not Included This past Monday, I visited the Vernon Hills store to inquire about a weber summit 670 grill. I had received a quote from ABT and wanted to see if you could beat it. I worked with manager Bill who was very polite and helpful. I ended up purchasing the grill with delivery included. They were supposed to deliver by Wednesday which did not happen. I called the store today and they said it was marked for pick up which was incorrect. I asked for delivery today which they worked out. They called me and said there was a problem with delivery. That the delivery van could only carry 2 people and they needed 3 to unload the grill. They then proceeded to ask me to help them unload it. I told them no because it is not my responsibility or liability when someone says they will deliver it. I was so surprised by that response that I called the store manager. The one on duty today proceeded to interrupt me and in a stern voice state that they were doing me a favor by sending the right amount of people to deliver because it was included. I was so put off by this response that I canceled my order

I rarely have to deal with employees here, but twice now I was treated so rudely I never plan on going back. What happened to treating people with respect? Recently I went in to purchase some pvc pipe. I sat there waiting patiently for an employee to finish up with another customer to just find out if the pipe can be cut at the store. I thought he had finished with the customer so I asked my question. He turned to me and sneered that he would when he was done with the person he was helping. It wasnt what he said but how he said it and acted. He gave me a look of distaste like I was idiot, that look of "can you believe this person" I was just asking a question, I wasnt even asking him to do anything. Home Depot used to be a super helpful place and the employees were always willing to help. Lately its been the exact opposite. Looks like Ace hardware gets my business where the people walk up to and ask if they can help you without being prompted.

This place is beyond helpful. Im an Eagle Scout and went here in search of possible donations, and Barry, the manager, was more than willing to help. He was such a down-to-earth and kind guy. He enlisted the help of Karen (I dont know if thats how you spell her name) to help me pick out shrubs and flowers. She was very good at her job and brought a ton of suggestions to the table. Other workers passing by asked if they could help (they saw a teenage boy scratching his head through the plant section) and brought even better collaboration. In about 15 minutes, there were three or four people helping me! At the end of it all, I had more donated then I would have even imagined, and it all looked great in the final project. With workers this helpful and sincere, I know where Im taking my business, even though Lowes is 10 minutes closer by drive.

The day after the blizzard of 2015, when close to 2ft of snow was blocking my 300ft long driveway, I went to start my snowblower & it was low on oil! I panicked & called the Vernon Hills Home Depot if they had 5W30 oil & if they could find someone to deliver it (paid, of course), as I was barricaded in. Although it took some time, the associate was successful in accommodating & helpful to my dire situation. I have never, in my close to 65yrs. of living, ever received such generous & obliging customer service, especially from a huge box store. Thank You, Home Depot, you came to my rescue!!!

I have been into this Home Depot a couple of times and not one did the store disappoint. Today, we went by the blinds for our house, and the blinds that are there were not the size that we needed, so we needed to have it cut to the right size that we wanted. And this guy who was willing to help us and his name is Michael D he is so kind and hes willing to help, and we got so much for help from him. He is also the hardest working staff in Home Depot thatI have ever seen. Next time you need help with blinds in this store , ask for Michael D because he is the best!!

Not a place to go for your needs unless you know exactly what you need, divert all requests to help you because staff will actually waste you time and dont even expect you can get any questions answered. Staff for example in flooring department is virtually non-existent, if you press their button they will cancel it just to fly under the radar of the store manager. The guy in the doors department surely should know something about wood but he doesnt. Avoid at all costs, go fo Lowes for example where they care about your business.

Home Depot is a poorly organized organization with a lot of people working in silos. Their website reflects the same clutter and its even impossible to simply find out what the opening hours are. (you have to figure out to click on "more info" or something and then CALL!) They also put all the warped and molded wood on top of the good stuff constantly, apparently hoping that some ignorant do-it-selver will pay full price for sub-par products.

I asked for the manger and waited 10 mim for her appear. I explained to her that her employies did not seem to know where the products that we were requsting was. She took offense on this and got very argumentive at me this led to telling me to get out of her store. If you need more information please contact me. This occured on 7/23/2015 at 3:00 pm.

No one is ever working there at night to help customers. Usually when I go after work, their is only 1 or 2 associates to help everyone in the store. I usually have to wait 45 minutes for someone to try and assist me before they cant really help because it is not their department. I try to avoid the store at all costs unless I hate to go there.

I rented a floor sander from them. The machine they gave me was not working properly. Since I was sanding for the very time, it took me some time to realize the sander wasnt ok. Because of that, I missed my return dead line and was charged double. Had to rent another machine from somewhere else. Will never rent from them again.

the service of one staff at Lumber Department was no more than one star, they send this guy to help me but he just stood behind me saying totally Nothing, even when I asked him for help or consulted with him, he seemed reluctant and indifferent, it was a terrible experience.

Placed an order for flooring. 3 days later they didnt have the order filled. Had to wait over an hour for them to put it together. The same order from other home depots in the area took less than 15 minutes. Poorly managed store.

Ive been to some great Home Depot locations, this is NOT one of them...Good luck on special ordering anything from these guys. Good luck finding an employee that cares about helping you. I just go to the new Lowes now.
