I had unintentionally left my 2005 Volvo in storage in Oak Park for almost a year because I had to leave the country in an emergency and had no chance to properly prepare the car for long term storage. I thought I was going to be back to collect it much sooner than things turned out. Well the battery was completely dead and no amount of jump starting, revving the engine or idling would keep the engine running. Not only that, but the automatic transmission gear was stuck on park and would not budge. Luckily we were only three blocks away from Autobarn Volvo and I got AAA to tow my vehicle there. I was in quite a crunch because I urgently needed to get on a trip out of town that would involve long distances, and I was super nervous about having a breakdown somewhere in the middle of nowhere. I explained my predicament to the super friendly people at the service department of the dealership. They said they would run a one hour diagnostic on everything on the car and then come up with what needed to be fixed. I was super worried about getting gouged, which dealerships are often so famous for. In the mean time I settled down in their modern waiting room complete with drinks, reading materials and free Wi-Fi. An hour later Mario called me in with what looked like a long expensive list of fixes. I saw big numbers all up and down that page and was starting to get antsy. I had heard that some dealerships dealing with Volvos would sometimes insist that older models need a completely new (expensive! $! $) transmission whether it was necessary or not. This was not the case with me. Mario showed me the most important things that would get me on the road, and a whole bunch of other things that were a little worn but he insisted that it wouldnt be necessary to install right now, but to keep an eye on down the road. I was really happy that I wasnt forced into an unnecessary and expensive repair. He gave me a an estimate of two hours for getting the work done, so I went and got some more coffee from their Starbucks Coffee/espresso machine and explored more of the dealership admiring some of their vehicles. Especially some restored to mint condition old vintage Volvos. They had computers set up for guests to go online while they wait etc. Right on time I got called down to the service department, to find my car had been given a rinse, the tires and oil had been checked and I felt really confident in getting on the long road. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone fed up with sketchy people in the automobile industry.

I purchased my first Volvo from the Autobarn in 2013 - a 2010 certified XC60. That car still runs beautifully, much thanks to the high quality of work of the service department at the dealership. There was a bit of a scare at one point - the care was about 2,000 miles out of warranty, and a relatively significant engine issue arose. Mark from service went to bat for us and Volvo covered the issue completely - can you believe that? Recently, the need for an additional car arose. Safety was a big factor when we purchased our first Volvo, and it was a big factor when I was looking for a second car. I wasnt going to buy a new car, but I wanted the feeling of purchase protection that a new car would give me (e.g. a solid warranty). Lastly, I wanted it at a specific price. Volvo of Oak Park had multiple cars that fit my criteria. I ended up certified pre-owned, mint condition 2012 S60 T6 with 33k miles. The 300 hp turbo engine makes it a blast to drive. Volvo construction combined with the city safe technology gives me a good sense of safety. Lastly, the car came with a 100k warranty - so I feel I will be protected should issues with the car arise over the next 4-5 years. The actual process of buying the car couldnt have been easier - it took a 15 minute call to reserve the car, and about an hour and a half in the dealership to do the paperwork. The price for the vehicle was actually less than market value, I felt. Jesse Dishner, the salesperson I worked with, was super friendly - since purchasing the vehicle hes checked in with me every week to see how the cars been doing. Since purchasing both of my Volvos, Ive moved to Michigan - about 200 miles away from Oak Park. Despite the distance, I still take our cars to Volvo Oak Park for service. The quality of service is that good. Of course, Ill be returning to the Autobarn Volvo when the need for a new car arises. Great service, quality vehicles, fair price, and a friendly, knowledgable, and helpful staff. Thanks, guys!

First of all, I would want to say thanks to Lorena Mena, she has been very helpful from the beginning. About 6 months ago, I purchased a pre-owned 2012 VW GTI in flawless condition. I have been doing my research through CarFax. Initially, I just wanted to verify the car was at the dealership as mentioned on both, carfax and Volvos website. However, when Lorena greeted us, my mother and I, she made a very great first impression. Lorena went the extra mile, she allowed me to inspect the car bumper to bumper, brought car key and fired up the engine. She also allowed me drive it for a little longer distance, usually other places is just around the block. My family and I are very pleased with the treatment of the dealership and specially Lorena for her absolute time and patience. While applying/signing, she explained very well all the terms and extra features and services. Also she brought us drinks and some treats, very professional indeed. After final signing, I was able to drive off that same day within a few hrs. At Autobarn Volvo of Oak Park, they do their best to keep customers happy at all times. Even when you come to perform service on your vehicle, their staff is very professional and explain in detail what your vehicle needs are. And once again, Lorena will guide you to acquiring the best vehicle for your needs. Thank you Lorena and your team at Autobarn Volvo of Oak Park for your excellent attention and customer service.

Its been one year (July 4, 2015) and 24,000 miles since we purchased our 2008 V70. Were from out of state, so i took the word of Jay that the car we bought would be Volvo certified "but it had too many miles." Well...Im pretty sure issues weve encountered with our car would have been evident on the CPO inspection. As soon as we left the dealership, a "remote battery low" message appeared, followed in short order by a squeak from the back and a clunk in the front. Also found spark plugs that had not been replaced per the Volvo schedule, a filthy cabin air filter, and had to fix the power windows with a squirt or two of silicon spray so they would close. Thousands of dollars in suspension repairs later, we have a great car but I would have appreciated a more honest review of the car when I specifically asked Jay of any deficiencies. Bottom line - car salesmen sell cars but I believe honesty still has a place. We would not buy another car from this dealer.
