In all honesty, Elite Motors from Mundelein, IL are nothing but a group of con-artists and liars. This is not a joke...I have absolutely no idea how they are still in business. At all cost, by all means, avoid this "dealership" NO MATTER what price, car or deal they might have that seems attractive to you. I dealt with two of their employees; Steve Hatton from Sales and Debra Shore from Financing. I dont know which one is a bigger liar. Hard choice to pick given the amount of lies and deceit they both used. They stole my deposit of $1000 cash. YES, STOLE IT! They added to my loan $895 GAP insurance and $199 window etching. BOTH of which I did not approve or ask or was informed of. I gave them $1000 deposit in cash and they pushed some stuff to my loan that I did not know about. So when I get my first statement from the bank I see enormous balance, bigger then if I had not put down payment. I come to find out about this stuff. So then I am off to try to get this removed from the balance as I dont want it. Debra Shore has been giving me run-around for over two months, very deliberately and strategically until the time period to cancel coverage runs out. Still no refund and at this point, I am coming to terms that it will never happen. On top of that, she tells me I will have 12.9% APR with Chase; I end up getting statement from Wells Fargo Dealership Services and 16.5% APR. How is that legal is beyond me. Well it is not and that is why their owner Craig Gutowsky (Google him) is under investigation for ponzi scheme and is out on $150K bail. Is this the end of my troubles? Absolutely not! Not even close. Keep reading to read what you could easily end up facing if you buy a car there. I would have eaten the $1000 down payment that I threw away and accept I got taken for a ride but no...Here is the big catch. The transmission on the car FAILED. Not even 2K miles after purchase, YES, failed...The cost to rebuild is $2700. The mechanic who was working on transmission found two holes in the floor under passenger side back seat. Literally two punctures through the floor, PUNCUTRES!!! HOLES IN FLOOR!!! THEN - head gasket on the car goes out, $2200 repair. The head gasket is sucking in coolant and is a ticking time bomb to fall apart completely. Youre thinking is that all of it? No...the throttle body is shot, $1200 repair...headlight went out one week after purchase (HID bulb $120); rear brakes went out after two weeks ($360). Im not kidding anyone here. $5000 to get the car remotly reliable. Im considering filing lawsuit because this cant be legal. After two car washes, all the stuff they put on paint to cover scratches and blemises washed off and the car revealed its ugly face, tons of scratches, dings, paint chips...Oh yeah...they somehow managed to rig CarFax to show "one owner" car when the DMV records show more then two owners. Seriously people, stay away. This review is not a rant or revenge, these are true facts about this place. Just read the reviews about them that are not one-liners which are obviously done by their own employees. My message to all of you reading? AVOID LIKE PLAGUE AND SAVE YOURSELF TRIP TO HELL AND POSSIBLY NEVER COMING BACK. THIS PLACE WILL MAKE ALL YOUR NIGHTMARES ABOUT SHADY USED CAR DEALERS COME TRUE. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. I wrote this review with my real full first and last name and I stand behind what I said. I have proof and evidence to prove all above mentioned and will gladly show it to anyone.

Well I want to save everyone the time of dealing with this unprofessional establishment. So I find a ZDX that I love. Fill out finance app,am contacted by Cherie and she says she is sending it over to finance manager. She would call back by end of day. Never did. Following day I email her for up date. No reply. So that afternoon I give her a call,and she apoloigizes for the hold up. Says she is reforwarding to finance manager. I receive call from John Barbera. He is salesman at Elite. Tells me im approved for $0 down,that my notes would be $412 a month,and when could I come in. I let him know that I live 5hrs away. So I would fax in drivers license,check stubs,etc to ensure the loan. Which I did the same evening. I then run carfax and realize the car is from Canada,the car fax is limited and doesnt show any necessary info. I ask him is the price negotiable. He emails back and says he wont loose deal for a few bucks.I make offer and he refuses. Says they have to stay at 90% market price. That they have to come in #1 or #2 per 10 vehicles in 500 mile radius. Which in this case is a bunch of bull. Their wasnt another ZDX in 500 mile radius. He offers full engine warranty. I let him know id be in 6/23. I made the commute and arrived at noon. I spoke to Cherie before arriving to confirm. After my arrival it went all down hill. I meet John immediately. Am rushed to his cubicle. He ask for my original documents to make copy of. I give them to him. I ask to see the car. 45 minutes had passed. I went on lot & found it myself. After looking it over I make my way back in and wait another 45 minutes. I ask to see the keys,they NEVER brought them. JP says he is finance manager comes out and and says bank denied me and I need 3grand down. Are you fing serious? I was told I had been aporoved,my credit was 655 upon entering the building. Took 37pt hit after they ran my credit through multiple lenders I suppose. I asked why say im approved for $0 and then ask for 3 grabd? He gave some spill that its the banks fault. After voicing my frustration,he says if I add my Aunts income they will approve it. She gave her info,an hr later he says it didnt work. He ask if I have anyone else with job,etc. I give two more individuals full info. Hell one makes $4500 a month. John comes back and says none will work. Am I interested in 2013 Altima. HELL NO,I wouldnt have driven 5hrs for a damn Altima. This place is full of lies,run around,egitistical men. I will be filing report with Illinois General office in regards to their shady business tactics. If your going to pay 3 grand down go to a real dealer,with real offices,and real finance team. Not some inhouse financers claiming to be a bank to attempt to swindle people out of more money. I will be leaving this review EVERYWHERE possible in regards to stopping others from wasting their time,gas,commute,& patience!

The financing process was painless. However, that was the only thing that went smoothly. When I test drove the car, I mentioned that the brakes felt off. They said it was rust on the ceramic pads that formed from the car sitting. I was a skeptical but I was pleased they accommodated my concern and gave me a sheet saying that theyd fix the brakes if this was the case. Why they couldnt check it on site before I drove off the lot was a little confusing but I gave the benefit of the doubt. The brakes were bad. I called and talked to a semi-pleasant but completely unaccommodating and unbending Victor in service. Believe me, what you need isnt important, what Victor says, goes. Victor said I needed to drive the car up (I live an hour away), have his techs look at it then hed need to order the parts then I drive home and come back another day. I was flabbergasted. I said "Let me get this straight, you want me to drive an hour north...on bad brakes... then drive back only to drive back again another day?" Victor said "yes" I said "on bad brakes" he said "my techs have to check the car out" I said "Brakes are usually pads and rotors and I have an extremely common car (Equinox), you cant just get the parts ahead of time? I am sure you could either use them on another car or swap them out on credit if not needed" Victor: "No." "Well what if I go to Merlin, who does free brake inspections, and this way youll pretty much have an idea of what needs to be done". Victor, the unbending "No" I then stated "Victor, you are telling me to drive an exorbitant distance, on bad brakes. If the brakes give out and I crash, I am going to sue you" Theeeennnnn the story changed "What I meant was that you need to have the car towed to Elite Motors." "So Victor, you want me to tow my car, an hour north, have your techs look at it, then tow it back home because I cant store my car there while the parts are ordered" Victor the congenial "Yes" Here is the truth, Elite Motors, though there are some positive aspects, is just another slime ball dealership that doesnt care whether you live or die, as long as they get their dollar. They dont care if you drive off that lot in an unsafe car, they dont care if you are in danger or was sold a damaged product. Here is how Elite Motors see its customers: You are there getting a vehicle and not at a dealership endorsed by an automaker, as a result, you may possibly have challenged credit and therefore, you are people to be preyed upon and taken advantage of. Elite Motors is not For The People, they are For Screwing Over The People.I dont know how these people can look in the mirror every morning.
