This is the kind of place you want to shop for a bike or accessories! Ive bought bikes from the big box stores and high end fitness/bike shops in the past. I am not a hardcore biker, just a guy who likes to ride when the weather is nice and I want some great exercise. I stopped at Chris Cycle a few months ago when I was considering buying a new mountain bike. A refreshing experience to say the least. Low-key and relaxed, high knowledge base, no frills store with lots of used and new selection. They service on-site and you know when they build your bike when its ordered or when its serviced, its done right. I can ask a question and Im confident they are getting me the right answers. Ive been treated well since my purchase for the bikes first tune-up and when I had a tire issue. Top-notch place! Keep it up and Ill be telling everyone Chris Cycle is the place for bikes in the north suburbs.

I bought a replacement rear cassette for my recumbent trike at a bike store near work and when trying to install it on the weekend realized special tools were needed to remove the old and install the new, which the bike store did not tell me about. Chris Cycle Center is near home, so I brought the wheel to Chris asking him to do the replacement for me, which he did on the spot and when asked what I owed him, he said "nothing, just come back when you need something for you trike." I mentioned I recently had an accident and needed to true a front wheel. I already had a spoke wrench, but had never tried to true a wheel before. Chris took the time to explain in detail how to do this. Great guy. Ill definitely come back to Chris Cycle Center whenever I need parts or repair.

Came in with my wifes bike because the shifters werent working. Chris came right over with another staff member and quickly deduced the problem: the front wheel and fork were spun around and over tensioning the control wires! I was a little embarrassed, but they were completely cool about it :). They then proceeded to fill up the pressure on the tires since they were severely under inflated (again, my inexperience showing through). They were great to work with and on top of everything, Chris didnt charge me for their time. I promised him I would definitely be back when I needed something. Ill be back today to get my girl a new bike and to retrofit my mountain bike. Thanks Chris!

Had trouble tightening the brake calipers on my daughters new cheap bicycle (a Huffy from Toys R Us)..just put it together for her 6th birthday...Chris suggested I bring it in and he will take a look at it...Brought it in and he figured out what I did wrong and fixed it in about five mins! Charged me a very negligible fee! I will absolutely buy my next bike here! Exceptional personable customer service! Thanks Chris! You made a six year olds birthday very special!

Went in to get my commuter bike fixed after an accident. My front wheel was completely bend, tire destroyed, and tube popped. I explained that this was my cheap bike and I didnt want to spend a lot of money fixing it. They gave me a new wheel, tube, AND tire, put them on, and adjusted my breaks for a mere $60, all while being kind, courteous and friendly. I will definitely be bringing any other bikes I have with problems back to Chris Cycle Center.

All I needed was some bottom bracket bearings which disintegrated on my 4 y.o. sons bike (it was a multiple-generation-hand-me-down), and they were so helpful, spending the time to try and find the right part, ordering the part since they didnt have it in stock, and the labor to replace it was inexpensive. (around $15 total). Very nice, courteous and helpful. Will look to them when its time to purchase a bike. Need more places like this around.

In the world of big box stores where the employee is a 12 kid that doesnt even know what aisle the product is in, this store is the exact Opposite. Every time I go in (which Ive been using them on my familys bikes for the last 7yrs) they know how to fix it. Theyre happy to walk you through what the issue is with your bike and spend the time answering any questions. They wont talked you into something you dont need.

I have been going to Chris for all my cycle needs for the past few years, I ride about 2k miles every year. I just purchased a new Giant ( Talon) from Chris, and he gave me the absolute best deal on this bike. I most appreciate that he is such an expert on bike repair and in my experience fair on price as well. I could write so much more about this shop, but I will just say THANKS!!!!

The service at this store is exceptional; Ive only been in a few times and they instantly remembered not only my face but what I was in for previously. If they dont have what youre looking for, they also give great recommendations for other shops that may better cater to your needs. Extremely knowledgeable, down to earth, helpful, friendly, and ethical.

Went in looking for a shorter stem for my mountain bike. Chris took the time to explain the pros and cons of the stems he carried. He had the exact stem I had in mind but it cost a little more than I had intended on paying. He offered to take ten dollars off the price. Great customer service and very knowledgeable about the products he carries.

We like bringing our bikes to Chriss Cycle shop because of the fair price and excellent workmanship. They are truly in the business to help families on their way to enjoying the pleasures of bicycle riding and we like that most of all. Keep up the good work and we will recommend them to our friends hands down. Laird and Cheryl

I have purchased 3 bikes from Chris, I would highly recommend this store to anyone. They are a very skilled shop who knows their products very well. You will never experience a high pressure sales approach, yet they are always willing & able to answer all your cycling questions. A+

This is a great place... I have been there a couple times: first for bearings, and then for a new tire. On both occasions, the help I received was genuine, with no pressure to buy something I didnt really need. Service like that will keep me coming back over other bike shops...

Seriously, these guys are exactly what you want in an LBS. Friendly and knowledgeable with enough of a "bike geek" vibe to make you know they are serious. I really enjoyed buying my bike there as a noob MTBer.
