Crystal is the most amazing groomer. She always treats the groom-ees with respect and listens to the owners regarding what keeps them calm and happy while they are in an unfamiliar place. I am also fond of the people that work in the reptile department as they are incredibly knowledgeable and more than willing to help you find the reptilian critter that Sometimes the cashiers are quite rude, but not all the time. Ive worked retail enough to know that some days just are harder than others. Im also a frequent customer to this location, even though its pretty far out of my way. There are two locations that are closer, but no other location can top this one. They hire well, and the workers seem to stick around, so they must be treated well there as well. The overall feel of the environment is upbeat and positive, and Ive never seen this location in a state of disrepair or with empty shelves. Ill definitely be back!

I find that this Petco is a little short handed, however the staff that works there is nice and helpful. When I asked a question and the girl went out of her way to make sure I got what I needed. I also find that when one person does not know the answer they will always ask someone who does. The employees seem to be very well trained. I like going to Downey Petco you just need to be patient because they are short handed. The animals always look well cared for and you can tell that the employees all love the the pets there. when I bought a hamster for my Daughter the girl who helped me told me she called him smokey because he looked like smokey the bear. Now if you take the time to give each animal a nickname you know they care about the pets.

This is quite a small Petco ! Its fine if you have a dog or cat. The selection for them seemed great. Even for anything that is either a fish or cold blooded. But if you need something for your small animals pet such as mice, hamsters, rabbits, etc. , FORGET IT !! They have, in total, only enough items to fill one half of one side of the shortest aisle in the store !! I became so citrate ! My little ones are just as important as someone elses dog or cat ! If you have a "small animal" as your best-friend, then go to Pet Smart !! They have way more great stuff for your little one ! Plus, there were roaches in the bathroom ! I left IMMEDIATELY !!

Attention: freedom fisher... I dont think ur commentin on the correct person the person in Question is a manager Geneva, who is not professional at all... The couple of times that I hav been in at the Downey store I tried to flag her down I was totaly IGNORED by her I followed her no an isle when she bent down CRACK KILLS!! Thank goodness to a wonderful man John who helped me out for my dog needs he made me laugh and forget why I was angry ... Plz Talk to Geveva about her pantsshe is REPRESENTING THAT STORES IMAGE!

Went in today looking for a red long haired dauschund and to my disappointment they do not have puppies at this location. However my step son seen a guinea pig he really wanted. I seeked out an employee because I had some questions about what I needed to buy for the guinea pig. The employees name was Michael and he was very helpful and knowledgeable and he also gave me and my girlfriend a 25% discount. I would recommend this petco it is very clean and has friendly employees.

In and out for dog food in 5 minutes usually. We had our dogs nails trimmed here. It was good but a little more than youd think. Its cheaper when you bundle services . Still Id go back. Prices on the food seem good.

Prices were too high compared to buying the same frontline at petsmart it was 8 dollars more expensive at petco, and the cashier was not that helpfull and didnt even know how to charge a gift card for a purchase

Unorganized. Nothing was restocked. Staff was limited. Also i asked for bags to purchase for the supplies I bought and they didnt have any. Staff was arguing amongst each other it looked really unprofessional.
