This location has been recently remodeled and things have been moved around. The dog training area is now in an open area in the middle of the store. I am not sure if this is a plus or minus for training. The plus is that your dog will learn to focus with distractions all around, the minus is that training a dog can be challenge enough without added distraction. The staff is helpful and are animal lovers. If you ask where to find something they will walk you to the area and provide information about the different options for what you are looking for. They dont seem in a rush to go do something else. The one con is that there seems to be some problem with their credit card machines. It kept saying my chip was malfunctioning and had trouble reading the stripe. I went to another business 20 minutes later and there was no problem reading my chip.

This is the closest pet store to my house, which is why its my first choice on most occasions. I dont hold allegiance to any particular pet store, but I dont hold anything against this one either. The staff are nice and always willing to answer questions. They really try hard to get you out of the store quickly when youre ready to check out. My only gripe is they dont always have the foods I want for my cats (picky eaters... little buggers), but I always find something else to buy. There is always plenty of parking even though its right next to a Big Lots and a Big 5. There is a pet groomer on site, and cat adoption but I have never used either of these services. They also have bins full of bulk treats and cat litter. Also I havent used them. I dont buy cheap pet food and litter (see above, my cats are picky).

This Petco is generally great! Brittany from grooming is amazing and makes sure to take care of my dog. They wont force them into any dryers if the dogs arent comfortable (mine wasnt so they called me and let me know hed take a little extra time because they didnt want to stress him out). Their pet supplies are a little pricy sometimes but overall they keep their animals healthy there and they do pet adoptions. (The quality of the betta fish and marimo at PetSmart at the Long Beach Town Center by comparison makes me feel bad for the fish, but they definitely keep them healthier here.) Overall its a good experience with a large variety of training options, fish, grooming for dogs, etc. and they seem to really care about the animals here.

Drove out to this n location from Hollywood, by they "have" the worms my bearded dragon eats. I purchased them come home go to feed my bearded dragon and all of the worms are dead I called the location ask to speak to the manager he gets on the phone and he basically says I have no solution for you. You can come back and Ill exchange them for you. it seems that theyre accustomed to selling dead feed which makes it super inconvenient for people that actually work a very busy schedule and cannot just go back and drive an hour to exchange these worms. extremely poor service and quality will not be returning

Everyone in this location is very knowledgeable on the different animals they carry. I bought a bearded dragon for my 5yr old and the rep that was helping me made sure I had everything I needed to insure that the lizard would be able to survive. I left feeling very educated and sure that I and my son could take care of the lizard. Now he has grown so much with the constant help of the petco team

The "manager" Danny said he couldnt give a grooming regular bath price over the phone and gave me an estimate which he said would be anywhere between $15.00 to $35.00 which is illogical if i have taken my dog there before... i told them i had always received a price before going and he sayd that was the policy and it was my choice to take it or leave it...

Remodel makes the store look nice. They carry a variety of products. The only problem is trying to get someone to answer a question or help you. There are not enough employees on the floor working. This happens a lot at this store.

I really like this petstore because it always has a lot of selections of both male and female hamsters (unlike petsmart). I always like to buy hamsters there since we cannot have any big pets in my apt. building.
