Best bike shop Ive visited in Milwaukee! I stopped in to Coast In Bikes with my husband and daughter after looking at Xtracycles online and wanted to see and hear about the bike in person. The woman who helped us was so knowledgeable and patient with my probably "dumb" questions as I dont know the proper terms or mechanical elements, etc. She showed us several cargo bikes in various price ranges, all perfect for what I was a looking for - just a family bike for groceries and errands and trips to he park etc. She hooked us up with helmets and let my daughter and I bike around the neighborhood to see how it felt. At no point were they pushy or acting like they were trying to get a sale. It was the best experience I have ever had at a bike shop. I didnt make my decision that day but will be coming back soon to purchase from them no matter what. Bonus: while we were there, one of the guys who worked there on a repair stopped what he was doing to hang out with my 2 year old and show her how to work a balance bike. Now because of that - I will ALSO be purchasing a balance bike for my daughter as well as bringing our bikes we already own in for service. Great people, great shop, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I went to Coast In Bikes a couple months ago based on the reviews, even though there were bike shops closer to me and I am glad I did! My complaint was that I thought I had flat tires because I was having to fill them frequently, but it turns out that wasnt the problem at all. I appreciate the honestly from Tristan (I think that was his name) because I am a biking beginner and he could have totally gotten me to buy/pay whatever! But instead I learned a little more about bike maintenance, how to fill my tires, and he adjusted my seat to the appropriate height. I also met Carolyn who told me about womens bikes groups/events. I had a really good experience and the people were genuine and honest. It made my day!

Great little shop that focuses on building custom bikes, cargo and commuter bikes. Their staff is very knowledgeable and willing to go the extra mile to make whatever you have in mind come to fruition. I have taken my bike there to customize it a few times, my bike is not very standard by any means yet they found a way to find the right product that would fit it and in some cases did a little bit of "bikesmithing" to get the job done. They also rent bikes and have a different way of doing things, you can rent all their bikes and when you buy them you get a discount depending on how much the bike has been used. I highly recommend this bike shop to anyone.

I was in Milwaukee on business and wanted to get some exercise. Tried renting a bike from this store. It was a super experience. The guy at the counter showed me all the trails on a map and suggested where to go. From this location you can either go North or South of the City. I went North. Rode 31 miles round trip. Most of this was on paved trails. On the way I stopped at a Beer Garden. There are a lot of options for trails/roads so definitely get a map or bring your GPS.

Ive gone to Coast In Bikes a few times and would recommend it. I took my bike in for a quick diagnosis of a strange sound and they repaired it immediately. The staff is helpful and didnt talk down to me for not being an expert. They wanted me to have the best, most cost-effective, and safest equipment. I also loved attending the DIY night and learning to fix my own brake cable, rather than having it done for me. Thanks!
