Timeframes arent an issue with me Id like to have my bike repaired correctly. I went in today to pick up my bike and to my dismay they didnt repair what I had come in for , which was the bikes shifting, but replaced a chain and the cassette on a less then 1 yr old XC mountain bike. When I took it out for a ride they neglected to fix the issues I had originally. Twice I took it out before I left the area near the shore, it didnt even make it around the block, brought it back in and left it there after I had paid. I told them to fix it right and to contact me when done. So I returned a few days later and they did complete the bike and it rides beautifully. What concerns me is that if I had not test rode the bike it would have been an accident waiting to happen. So for that reason and driving from Waukesha twice I can only give 3 stars. I found that many bike repair shops dont bother to properly repair a bikes shifting under a true load. My advice is to test ride it and go through all the gears before you pay and leave at any bike repair shop. Many Bike mechanics Ive gone to need to retrain or learn how to adjust derauliers properly, both front and rear keeping in mind the rider under a load. I hope they read this review and change for the better. :)

I must say there is a great crew of folks working here. Recently purchased a used fat bike and took it in to the Bike Fixers for assembly and a once over from experienced mechanics. Took it in Thursday evening, just a couple hours prior to closing and they had it ready for pickup Friday afternoon! The service fee was very reasonable to boot. Chase took me through a quick crash course and offered some valuable maintenance and riding wisdom. He even offered me a steal on some 45NRTH Flowbeists, which are honestly probably better suited for the weather conditions in Milwaukee, but I didnt have the scratch to grab them at the moment. The people here know their stuff, offer very competitive prices, carry quality bikes and components, and provide prompt and excellent service. It doesnt hurt that the staff are friendly and great to talk to! You will not find pushy sales people here, but you will find cyclists who are passionate about bikes and want to make sure that you enjoy yours. I will be back!

If I could rate this shop with less than one star, I would. If you go to this shop, dont bother being lighthearted or friendly. Your efforts wont be reciprocated. Their staff leaps at the opportunity to charge upwards of $10 to perform simple tasks (tasks many shops will perform for free), and in most cases the prices they charge seem arbitrary. They charge $5 just to "take a look." I live on the Eastside and bike everywhere I go. Ive been to nearly every bike shop in the area-- Corys is by far the coldest and most uninviting. For any cycling related need, BENS CYCLE on the Southside is the place to go. Always friendly, always helpful, and always understanding. Never condescending. I wont spend another cent at Corys... they dont deserve even the slightest honor. If you want to have a positive experience, Bens is the place to go.

just went there today to get a new bike -- my second, so while im not a *complete* bike novice, im still generally clueless, and i felt i had a very positive experience. guy who helped me (dont think i got his name) was friendly and seemed happy to take time to help me figure out what kind of bike would work best for me, and while he pointed out a few outside of my price range, he seemed to genuinely want to find the most appropriate bike for me, not the most expensive he could sell me on, and actually ended up recommending one well under my price limit, which is always nice. i dont have much experience with other local shops to compare, but have found that bike shops often have a deserved reputation for being snobby or rude to bike newbies, and i didnt get that vibe at all.

Took my 20 year old, very used Huffy in to Corys for a flat. They were unbelievably busy for a weekday afternoon, but they took care of me right away and didnt even make me feel bad for having such a crappy bike. I am always afraid that bike store employees/mechanics will condescend and be bike snobs, but these guys were very nice! And, as more and more customers walked in with varying degrees of repairs they were cool, kind, and courteous to everyone. They fixed my flat promptly and showed me a few concerns they had with other parts of the bike, not in a pushy, make-a-sale kind of way, but in a we-are-concerned-for-your-safety way. Will definitely recommend these guys to anyone and will be looking into purchasing my (badly needed) new bike from Corys.

I bought my bike at Coreys this March and have had horrible service from everyone since. I ride my bike an average of 100-150 miles a week and need regular tuneups. But apparently coming in to get them just constitutes looking at my bike and telling me I need to buy something expensive. I brought my bike in today with obviously untrue wheels and in need of a my chain getting some work with only a response of "your bike looks fine, but you need a new fork." Frankly, Cory intimidates his employees to a point that they are afraid of doing anything and it makes for bad business. I am thoroughly unimpressed and will no longer take advantage of my two years of free service. Especially since the service is usually tied in with a need to buy something.

Excellent shop. I would recommend this shop to anyone. Whether you need maintenance, new gear, bike stuff, or advice, this it the place for you. You walk in and see plenty of bikes, accessories, and apparel. While they have a solid selection of good gear, they also can order just about anything. I got a brand new bike and messed up a crank arm on the first day of riding and the friendly staff gave me 10% off the order just because they understood the frustration of how my expensive new toy just broke. While this is a one time thing, I think it exemplifies the kind of quality service offered at The Bike Fixers. Go here. Beyond all that, they are local. Cmon, support your local shop.

I have been to every shop within a 15 mi radius of Milwaukee and The Bike Fixers is by far the most knowledgeable, humble, genuine, and honest shop in town. They treat you like an individual and a friend, not like a walking dollar sign. They carry an array of used bikes, new bikes, parts, and soft goods. They truly care about your problem (big or small) and want to make sure you are satisfied and safe on the roads. All of the employees are passionate and knowledgeable about bikes, and take pride in helping you to the best of the their ability. Why go anywhere else??

Came by the shop on a mission to get back on a bike. This was my fourth store in the area. Great help with picking out a bike, no pressure to spend thousands, or make you feel like your an idiot. Staff (all of them) are friendly and helpful. Cory is almost always there and will give you his advice, which is right on. Plus the service is very generous, two years included in your new bike purchase. Plus the selection of used bikes is very good. I really cant say enough about the shop. I will be getting another bike next year and this is where I will go
