Its hard to quantify my experience into one paragraph, but Ill try. Last year, my wife and I bought 4 bikes at the Libertyville location. We bought one for each of us and one for each of our kids. We really lucked out because we got Tony as our salesperson, and he helped each of us find the bikes that were right for us. I ended up getting a Trek DS4, and other than my wedding ring, it is by far my most prized possession. The two years of free tune-ups is a wonderful perk when you buy bikes at George Garner and the service is amazing. Tony has been our guy since day one and is still our guy to this day. Last month, we purchased yet another bike for my step-daughter because she outgrew her old one. They gave us a good value on trading in her old one and we could not be happier. I love the inclusive environment in this store. The employees want you to ride the bike and love what you ride. I know that this store has gotten some unsavory reviews in the past, but it is clear that everything, from environment to employee, has been revamped to deliver the best possible customer experience. This review is a very sincere thank you to a great bike shop and a special nod to Tony for going above and beyond the call of duty to ensure and enhance a great customer experience!

I used to live in Libertyville and would routinely drive down to Deerfield Cyclery just to avoid this place. All the staff are terribly rude and even small things like tubes are over priced. I once needed a simple fix on my race bike two days before a race, and instead of accommodating that, they said it would take several weeks to fix. I tried reasoning with them and they blew me off and said there was nothing they could do. When I brought it to Deerfield they had it done within 10 minutes. A couple years prior when I was in the market for my first road bike, they complained about having to inflate the tires on a couple bikes so I could take them for test rides, and before going that far they said they wouldnt even bother unless I was a "serious buyer". Great attitude toward someone looking to get into cycling. They dont act like they want your business, so dont bother giving it to them.

Well, I dont think this place is as horrible as most are saying on here. I agree with the comments about service. The first time I went in, the guy that helped me acting as if he wanted nothing to do with me and like he just wanted to leave. Although he did give me a slight discount on a very expensive seat. But when I found a better cheap for much cheaper, I went back to return the seat I bought and got lectured for 10 minutes on how not getting the seat I had was going to give me prostate cancer. Glad I got my money back. Just go to the cyclery in Round Lake.

Amazing! Iam in town on business and notice the awesome trail system and just kept thinking, "if only Ihad my bike here!. Well I notice Libertyville Cyclery on the way back from dinner so I pop in and check to see if they rent bikes. Sure enough they do and I got to spend time riding trails to my hearts content vs. sitting around in the boring hotel room. The staff was amazing and had me rolling in no time at all. Pricing for the rental was also very reasonable. Thanks for making my trip great guys! I will be back!

I use to go here as a child and loved it. This past summer I got the biking fever and checked out a few places. This was the place for me. The bike mechanics/sales dont screw you over and give you advice just for the sale. They really want to make sure you are getting what you need. Tony is someone Id recommend as he seems to be one of the most knowledgeable there. Super friendly. I will continue to purchase my equipment and get advice from there. Easy in/Easy out.

I would not buy a bike there. The staff was not knowledgable of their products. I was shopping for a computer (for measuring distance, speed, etc) and the sales person recommend a brand and said he loved it. However he didnt know the measurement features of the computer and didnt know that you hand to buy the computer and the magnet/sensor separately. So why would he tell me it was his favorite but couldnt talk to the specs at all.

Amazing service ! I came in looking for shoes for spin class and the salesman was not only helpful, but very knowledgeable about their product line and the differences between shoes. I had just come from another store where they could not have been bothered to help me. I tried on a few shoes and the one the salesman first suggested was the one that fit best. Very, very good experience and I am very happy with my purchase !

Not only do I agree with the review above but this place has awful service, prices, and turn around. Poor service done to my bike. This place is for yuppies who like to over pay for snotty ill-quality service. If your a true american avoid at all costs! NOT RECOMMENDED take your bike to zion cyclery. nice people, great service, great turn around, great price!

I attended a tune up class here today and it was outstanding. I learned a great deal and Jim, Mike, and Tony did a great job while welcoming customers at the same time. These guys are pros! Ignore the bad reviews because that was different store management. Its a new team and I cant say enough good things about these guys. This is my only bike shop! Jeff B

Same thing, RUDE, followed me around like a puppy dog also. I asked for a real salesman and helped out a little. They would always make you feel like you dont belong there. I called George Garner myself, he was understanding but the same jerks still work there! I would rather do business with Chris Cycle. Very nice guy and very helpful!

As an avid bike rider this place really dissapointed me. Service stunk, they were rude and not much to choose from. My wife and I went in and I had to tell the sales accociate to quit following us around like a little puppy dog. We just wanted to see what they had available. Recomend Zion or Trek store in Lake Bluff.

I had a very good experience at the George Garner Libertyville store. They fixed only what needed fixing and turned my bike around in a very short period of time. They also rewrapped the bar tape at no extra charge. I would take my bike there for repairs again.

Wonderful selection of bikes. Tony, Colton, and Kyle all helped me very well through the process of buying and accessorising my new bike. Any bad reviews are incorrect as they are from a very long time ago and the staff has completely changed since then.

I recently brought my bike in after its brakes started squeaking and the staff made every effort to get it serviced as soon as possible. They know bikes and were able to offer in depth knowledge about products when I had questions.
