I brought my 7 month old puppy in to get just her nails trimmed and ground, ears and teeth cleaned. I usually do it myself but thought Id give it a shot- really regret it. My puppy had not been to a groomer before but had gone to the vet a few times and they never had a problem doing her nails- she would give them kisses and all the girls would laugh and say how cute she was. First thing the girl did was drag her through the door- I wish that I had just said never mind and left with my dog. Any one with experience with dogs knows to not act that aggressive or else the dog is going to react badly. I am super upset because they should know how to make a dog feel comfortable or at least know what not to do. So that started the experience off badly, I left to grab some other items around the store because I felt that she would freak out more if she could see me and try to get to me. I heard her crying from across the store and some worker was just holding her off the ground in a tight hold. Then I was called to get her and she came running to me- they let her off the leash. A bunch of the workers were just standing around so Im assuming she peed. Yeah, thatll happen when you scare a puppy. I put the leash on her and wanting to know what happened for future reference I ask the girl if she behaved or not. Girl tells me oh no she did not. Ok its the dogs fault right? you should be professional and know how to work with animals or at least react to them accordingly to handle it right. So then I felt embarrassed and told her that it was her first time at a groomers ( i hold told her she was only 7 months old) and was fine at the vet. Looking over her- ears still had dirt in them, i could have done a better job at the nails, and who knows about the teeth but hey i got a tooth brush out of it. Never will go there for grooming again. super disappointed and didnt even get the bandanna that was suppose to go with the package. not to mention my puppy having a bad first experience so now shell probably always be timid in a situation like that. Thanks Petsmart groomers.

I am an avid animal lover as well as a responsible pet owner! I have two dogs, a kitten, turtles, guinea pigs- YOU NAME IT. I am a frequent shopper and nearly all the store associates recognize me by name now. I am always extremely pleased with the help that I have received! This is especially true of their animal care practices. I have always been extremely skeptical of the animal care habits that have occurred at large box stores, especially considering I had had bad experiences in previous years. However, the associates working there are very knowledgeable in each of their specialty areas. Because of their wonderful services, I have purchased 2 guinea pigs as well as adopted 2 of their "special" needs guineas. Even though they sell big box cages there, the associates took the time to make sure I understood that guineas needed a much larger cage (as well as provided the info of where I should be looking for them). PLUS they know their stuff! I spend about $100 a month there on pet food, and they always let me know about the deals running on my favorite products! (Whether it be buy 2 bags of hay get 1 free or coupons on my dogs food!) Not only have I had an excellent experience with the small animal and aquatic associates, but I have also had great luck with the Training courses for older dogs! We took our dog (who was 4 at the time), into basic obedience classes to teach her a few new tricks as well as reinforce the ones she already knew- They were very kind and understanding about us bringing our second dog (who has extreme anxiety) and just allowing her to be there. I would also recommend the Banfield Veterinary services that reside within the store. They are always professional, kind, and understanding about the needs of my animals. When we first adopted our anxious rescue, they were very helpful as we adjusted the first few weeks and got her into a healthy schedule. Any time they call they are always very pleasant and informative, and very non-judgmental when it comes to the payment plans available!

DO NOT GROOM YOUR DOG HERE. I was one of the many dog owners affected by Tangled Knot being bought out. I gave Pampered Pet a try, but my dog came home with a nick on his neck, so I wasnt comfortable taking him there again. I figured PetSmart would be a safe place to take him until I could find a safe groomer. Wow was I WRONG. I specifically told the girl that checked him in that he had a nick on his neck, and 3 and a half hours later they called me to pick him up. A few days later I noticed he had SERVERAL CUTS on his neck. There are no less than 5 deep gashes on his neck. How can anyone be that careless with a dog? They cant defend themselves or speak up. To repeatedly stab a dog with scissors is just horribly ignorant. I feel so bad for my dog, but the damage is done, this cannot be undone. The only thing I can do is warn others not to trust these negligent people with your beloved animals!!!

i scheduled a grooming appt with PetSmart for my 2 poodles. i took pictures of my dogs from a previous grooming, i always keep them in a sweetheart clip. i just moved to the area so wanted to be clear about the type of groom i wanted. i spoke to the groomer (Julie) and she assured me she was "a great groomer" and had several years of experience. after 5 hours i came back for my dogs. my male was shaved down completely and his topknow was gone. his pom tail was completely shaven. my female was in what Julie said was her Miami clip. she wasnt sure how to do the sweetheart so thought id like the miami. i was told my poodles were difficult to do and thats why the male was shaved. i paid $70 each for the grooming!! Julie V. is not a professional groomer!! dont trust your dogs with this woman. she claims she is so wonderful but she has a nasty attitude and cant groom!

I have a difficult dog, so I called in advance to get information and be sure that I could hold him while his nails were being clipped. When I arrived, I was met by a very young woman, with very large gauge earrings. She took my rabies info, and proceeded to question it. When I told her it was ok, that I would allow him to be muzzled while I held him, she said, "Oh no, you cant be back behind the counter". Her manager walked in, and I told her that this would not work, and I had called in advance to ask about it. The manager never said a word, he just stood there. I told them, well go somewhere else. My dog might have taken her ear out with one of his paws had I not been back there to hold him. NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN FOR ANY REASON!
