I took my Bichon, Barklee and my Maltese, Teddee Jack to Petco. I should have known when I walked in to turn around and walk out. I didnt like the vibe and the fact that the front office workers were so disorganized and and didnt give a rip about the customer or the dogs. I left my 2 babies there and went shopping, but could not concentrate as all I did was worry about my dogs. When the gal held Barklee, "I said dont you want to know a little about his personality?" "No all dogs are the same" ! Well, we all know that all dogs are NOT the same, I was really irritated and insisted on telling her about my pets. Barklee is a funny dog and loves everyone he meets. Teddee Jack on the other hand is extermely shy and skiddish around new people and loud noises that he hasnt heard before, he also has to be carried like a baby, over my shoulder and my arms underneath his boody. They would not allow the dogs to be in the same cage either. BOGUS!! That really .poed me. My appt was for 1pm, when I asked how long they would be there the girl said five hours. WHAT???? They were also accepting walk-ins, duh? Why bother to make an appointment. I went to get them and Barklee was his usual bouncy self, and he had a lot of fur cut off (by my request) which made his collar loose which I didnt know until we were getting in the car and the collar slipped off and he was running to the small median between the Petco and Poplar Ave. I had to grab his tail or he wouldt be here today. Teddee Jack wouldnt let me put him down, he was so shaken up. Ridiculouus! I knew the dogs needed to go potty, I drove past Petco and found a safe placed to do their business. These 2 peeed for what seemed like forever. So, they had not been out of the shop for 5 hours and consequently peeed like 2 race horse. Pitiful. Poor Teddee Jack trembled uncontrolably all the way home to Marion, AR. A good 30-40 minute drive. Petco is a zero star on my list and I AM NOT HAPPY EVEN GIVING 1 STAR FOR POOR. THERE SHOULD BE A NEGATIVE RATING SYSTEM TOO!!! I would NEVER advise dog owneres who love their pets to not EVER, EVER take them to Petco. The entire experience was a nightmare. The employees were there simply to have a job and didnt really seem at all interested in what they were doing. I love my dogs to much to put them thru hell again. Short story: Paid $50-something for pet training classes back in Jan. After waiting 2 weeks and never getting a call to schedule class time and day, called store to talk to the trainer--Lisa. She kept saying shed find a time and get back with me, like every time I called, but she never did. Called today, because at this point I just want my money back, and Amy ("the manager") says to bring my receipt in. Connie is present, but Amy and Lisa are not. Oh, Connie is a "manager" too, apparently. Connie leaves me waiting for 30 min at a register only to come back and say she can only issue store credit...over and over again...because its been over 60 days. But you all have only been lucky that I would even be so patient. Connie was unapologetic and incompetent. Lisa is just incompetent as far as I can tell, and unconcerned. Will never step foot in another Petco again. And Ill get the money back from my bank. Do better. I had to walk away, because my patience had run out.

I was told different things from different employees. This resulted in wrong advise which caused my fish to die. They wouldnt even give me my money back. They were very expensive fish. Also, when I called the store, i was on hold for 10 minute increments while 3 different people rotated talking to me. I had to tell each of them my question over and over. i have a plan to go to the store and say, "my fish died, will you test my water?" What they dont know is that the water being tested is their own water. I bet you that they will say there is something wrong with the water to make me not be able to get my money back. I want to recommend Pet Smart because if a pet from there dies, they wont make you get your water tested. You just give them the dead animal, and they give you your money back with no questions asked.

1) We were in the middle of an armed robbery at this store. Why would there be any further experience on which to base complaints, you might ask. Unfortunately, there arent many other places to get dogs groomed near here. So, 2) The dog groomers are always late. Like, 5 hours late. We found ourselves in the middle of the robbery I mentioned above because the dog wasnt ready when they were supposed to be, so we went ahead with our evening plans, and returned just before closing time. It turned out somebody thought that was a good time to rob the place. 3) The help is terrible. If you ever happen to find someone you can direct a question towards, expect to get a sullen, smart-a__, mumbled answer. The worst thing is, I still go there! Im presently p-od because the dog groomers are hours and hours late again.

I called the Petco on Poplar to schedule an appointment for my dog to get a full-service bath. The person who took my call was absolutely rude. I had questions since it was my dogs first grooming session and she had an attitude over the phone and was anything but helpful in scheduling an appointment. The two minutes I just spent on the phone made me decide to take my business elsewhere. I wont have rude people taking care of my dog. If that is the way she talked to me...who knows how shed treat my dog. Uncalled for.

I took my dog in today to be groomed. They guys that took her showed me a chart for the grooming length. I selected the longest one. When I returned to pick her up she was shaved to the lowest setting I could have imagined. The Manager and staff offered no excuse except that it was the long setting. This is not true she was BUTCHERED. They charged me $100 to do this and refused to do anything to make up for the awful job they did. I will never go back and wouldnt ever suggest it to anyone. Stay away.

This is the closest Petco to my home and have attempted to purchase fish from them on three separate occasions over an eight month period. Each time i purchased a fish from them they have all died within a week. Their tanks are filthy and disease ridden. A few guppies i recently purchased infected my tank with velvet and i lost several platies. I highly recommend a "mom and pop" fish store and or the Bartlett Petco, their tanks are much cleaner and i have yet to have problem with any fish from that store.
