This past August we were visiting the Denver area with friends. We had plans for getting married in November and had been in the market for some wedding rings. We had looked at rings here in Florida, at the Mayors Jewelry Store in Palm Beach Gardens, and had found rings we really liked, but had not yet purchased them. When we called the store sales person who waited on us the evening we found the rings, she didn’t seem to have the time to deal with us and she asked us to call her back the next day. We knew at that moment that she was not one we would want to do business with. It’s simply called poor customer service. While vising in Denver, our friends, who had previously lived in Denver for more than 25 years before moving to Florida, took us to the Cherry Creek Shopping Center. While there, one of our friends pointed out the Hyde Park Jewelry store as we passed by it in the Mall. He said that we should look in there for wedding rings, knowing that we had yet to purchase any rings. He said that Hyde Park Jewelry was a top quality store and we should at least take a look. Upon entering the store we were immediately and warmly greeted by your sales Associate Tish Schmidt. She was so friendly and accommodating. She said that if we had a certain ring design in mind, as we did, that Hyde Park could make it. As a gay couple, she had no hesitation in waiting on us and making sure we felt comfortable. She also introduced us to your Design Team Manager, Kerry Barlow, who was willing to work with us on designing rings that we would like. We told Kerry about the rings we found in Florida and he was confident that he could make rings that would meet our specifications and quality requirements. The bottom line is that we decided during that visit to purchase rings, to be made, from Hyde Park Jewelry, based on the excellent service we received and the perceived quality of your products. Kerry explained to us the process for making the rings and we communicated with him and Tish via phone and email during the entire process, making changes to the design as we progressed. Because of the differences in climate between Denver and South Florida, we discovered, once we received the rings, that the ring sizes had to be adjusted. Both Tish and Kerry were most accommodating in getting the rings sized to our satisfaction. There was no hesitation on their part to make sure we were completely satisfied with our purchase. We love our rings. I would like to express our deep appreciation for the excellent service we received from both Tish Schmidt and Kerry Barlow. Kerry did an excellent job in getting the rings designed and made to our exact specifications. They should both be recognized for their quality of service and work, as they are definite assets to your company. Jerry Davis & Tom Ridley

I went to them to talk about getting a custom ring made. We pulled one ring out as a basis of what I was looking for, and chatted about costs some, and they said it would be no problem to make one based on that style, design, etc. Then I found another that would do nicely if it could be sized to fit my stone, perhaps by the designer, etc.. They told me the second ring I was interested in was $33,000...mind you, that is no center stone, just a setting to use my stone in! I said, "wow, that is a bit out of my range, I didnt expect it to be so much for just the setting", and this lame attitude followed, like I was below them or something for having a limit? Moving back to the custom only option, I stated that the halo of that ring is exactly the type I was looking for on my customer ring (which I have seen now in 3 other stores, so it isnt like it is pattented), and she acted like that was outrageous of me to ask, and formally stated that they do NOT COPY DESIGNERS RINGS! Funny thing is that they only have designers rings, and just minutes before I said $33k for a setting was too much, she said that they would have no problem making a custom ring for me that copied the first designers styling and halo. That first ring was still sitting in the ring holder on the glass between her and I couldnt help but go to war on it for a bit. I asked if the one on the counter was a designer ring...she said "yes"...and your guys can make one based off this ring right? "Yes"... But you cant make one based off that other designers ring because you do not copy designers in any way right? *crickets* There are moments in coversations where silence is priceless. I just wish I had a camera ready to catch the stupid look on her face when she realized what she just admitted to. Needless to say, I am not getting a custom ring made here. Dealing with someone like her through the process of design and creation of a custom ring would be ridiculous to behold, and they dont deserve the $8-15k I was prepared to spend to do it.

I had walked by HPJ-Phoenix many times and would look at the window displays but never went in....you know how Jewelry stores are, pushy sales people asking you what you are looking for after only being in the store for 2 seconds. I had been "looking" for a place to buy the perfect engagement ring and the pain of having to deal with walking into a store had kept me from doing it for far too long. I finally grabbed ahold of the door handle at HPJ and took a breath....and walked in. Wow, was I ever surprised, no one jumping on me but instead a very nice welcome and "lets us know if you need any help or a bottle of water". OK, maybe this was my place to buy, I looked around for a couple of minutes and walked over to a gentleman working on something and asked if he could help with an engagement ring. We chatted for 30 minutes the first day and looked at what I wanted to look at...which of course were the more expensive rings but when I left, the salesman said something that threw me..."why dont you come back when you have some more time and I can show you some other options that might fit your budget better". No pushy talk of how much my girl would love the higher priced ring..etc...etc. That was enough for me, I did set an appointment for the following week and we looked at many other options for almost an hour. In the end I did find a great setting and an awesome stone. Paul Riggs could not have been any nicer or more professional, his attention to the customer is why I would recommend HPJ-Phoenix to anyone looking for a great jewelry store and if you are looking for a nice watch they have a solid selection of those as well.

TerribleHyde Park manager Kaye is very aggressive and rude. First, Kaye the manager left a message stating I wouldnt receive my receipt until the insurance has sent check. You would think a store like Hyde Park would be able to give me some type of receipt for over $7,000 in purchases. Kaye said what happens between the insurance company and Hyde Park basically doesnt need to be shared with me. Really Im the customer. What really got to me was how Kaye treated me when determining what she would be crediting me. Kaye and my insurance company teamed up against me and made decisions on my behalf. I was credited $8,600 and then the next day was told I am only credited $7,300. I felt cheated and I was. Kaye never let me talk and screwed me out of my allowable insurance proceeds by using an amount undisclosed amount to calculate my proceeds. Again, this is my money and I should know the true cost that Hyde Park is using to calculate my insurance proceeds. I want to see the invoice for the purchase that Kaye is basing her number on. Kaye made me feel not worthy of my own proceeds or how it was determined. I want Hyde Park to disclose the amount they used and where they got it from. I want to see there invoice for the Item they were basing the cost on. In the end I felt unworthy of even walking into Hyde Park
