I bought a road bike from Epicenter last year and had a great experience. Shawn listened to what I wanted in a bike and worked with my price range to get me a bike that I truly enjoy riding. I had demoed bikes at seven bike shops before going to Epicenter, and I bought the bike from Shawn because 1) the bike fit me well 2) Epicenter guarantees a proper fit 3) 10% all accessories for 1 year 4) free tune-ups for the life of the bike 5) everyone at the store was knowledgeable, helpful, and personable. I have been to Epicenter several times for the free tuneups and my bike always comes out running great. Any time that Im in the shop and have a question, the staff always has an answer, and they treat me like a person instead of a potential sale (unlike some other shops I visited previously). I went back to Epicenter this year to buy a mountain bike, and again the staff listened to what I wanted out of the bike and what I wanted to pay. They matched me with a bike and answered all questions I had (of which I had many). I recently brought the bike in to see if they could do anything to resolve a squeaky rear break, and they have gone out of their way to fix this issue including replacing a couple parts at no charge to me. Talk about service! This is why Epicenter is a bike shop that I will always go to and recommend to others as long as Im in Santa Cruz.

Definitely the Bike shop you want to go to in Santa Cruz! After going to multiple established local Santa Cruz Bike shops and being disappointed with horrible service and selection, I decided to take a peak at this recently opened shop. After walking in, you can immediently noticed the care taken to make the store seem clean and welcoming. The selection of bikes and accessories is amazing! I was welcomed by Sean the store manager and could not believe I finally found someone who appeared to enjoy their job! He noticed I was a novice to biking quickly and walked me through the fitting and matinence process slowly. I even got to test and ride the bike around town!! Everyone has to make this place a stop if your considering purchasing a beautiful new bike!!

I have been a regular at Epicenter since I moved here four years ago when they had only been open for short time. The shop has always been very friendly and has helped me out a ton over the years with everything cycling related. Ive been to a lot of different bike shops and Epicenter is definitely one of the most organized and well thought out shops Ive ever seen. Epicenter has also put in a ton of effort to better the entire cycling community in the Santa Cruz and Aptos areas. They built the immensely popular Aptos pumptrack and donated tons of time and effort to the build the new flow trails in Pogonip and Demo Forest. And with shops in two locations on both side of town, Epicenter is always close by, no matter where you decide to ride.

Great shop. I just purchased my first carbon road bike from these guys and my experience was great. The owner, Shawn, spent a very substantial amount of time helping me figure out what products suit my needs best and was very patient with my questions. The customer service was so good in fact that I didnt even realize that Shawn was the owner until after I bought my bike; very approachable and down to earth. The itself shop is very professional, definitely felt like I was in good hands. Overall a great experience and great deal, check them out before you buy your next bike.

Went here after visiting a few bike shops. Heather helped my friend pick out a great bike, and was really helpful and knowledgeable. I returned a few weeks later and the owner Shawn helped me find a bike thats perfect for me, too! On the way out, Candice (marketing director) invited me to go on The Girly Ride to get to know my bike and mountain biking in general. What a fantastic experience! Highly recommended. This staff knows what they are doing. Brilliant!

Excellent, Very impressed. Shawn, the owner, and all his staff do an outstanding job. I ride a bike everyday, have many bikes, frequent other shops and do all my own mechanical work - this is a great place. Recently bought a bike on Ebay and needed a Trek part that only Epicenter had, they treated me great when I told them and respect them for that. They also gave me another part for free :-)

What I love about this place is that I did not buy a high end bike but I still got excellent customer service. Other shops only cater to the die hard bikers but this place seems to get that everyone starts somewhere and soke of us will never be die hards. Nice to be treated well and not talked down to or over your head. Id definately buy my next bike here if I ever upstopgrade.

Epicenter is awesome!!! Only minutes from closing, my daughter needed a new bike as her previous one died completely on us. Not only did they take the time to make sure that she got the right bike, but the techs stayed late just to put it together for her to make sure she was able to ride to school on her new, early birthday gift! Smiles all around and a very happy customer!

We bought two bikes (Domane 5.2 & 4.7) after renting them. The experience was very good throughout - professional, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. Particular shout out to Andrea - he really knows his stuff; Candace for her warm, friendly and artistic flair, and Hank for his advice. I bought a bike in Santa Cruz and needed it packaged for shipping. Epicenter packed it up and did a GREAT job. I was thrilled. They did the best packaging job I have ever seen and the bike arrived in perfect condition. It needed to be shipped to South Orange County, CA but could have gone anywhere in the world as it was packed so well. Highly recommended.

Hands down the best and friendliest bike shop in town. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgable, along with great mechanics. I went in needing a huge suspension rebuild before a long trip and was able to get it done extremely quick and had the bike feeling brand new! This shop has everything you need no matter what type of riding your doing.

Im happy to see that this bike shop opened up a new location in Santa Cruz (I used to drive over to their Aptos location from the West Side to have them work on my bike). I even bought my new Trek bike from them when I saw that they were planning on opening this shop on Mission St., so now it is just a short trip to get my free tuneups!
