I came in knowing that I wanted a backpack for multi-day hiking trips, and not much beyond that. I was helped by two different dudes (I believe it was Ron and Adam, but I could be completely off-base) to help me find the right fit. Of course their selection is more limited than what the internet has to offer, but I felt like they only offered quality gear and I wanted to support local. Right away they sized me up to see what size I should aim for. Then they picked a few packs, loaded them up with weight, and had me wander around for a while to get a feel for them. This is how I ended up being helped by two different employees. It took time! In this case, that was a great thing, so I got a glimpse of how the weight would feel on an actual hike. They never pushed for one brand over another and I didnt feel pressured into a more expensive product (or the house REI brand) just for the sake of it. Both of the guys explained the adjustments in the packs, why they were there, and some tips on how to pack for even weight distribution. I knew REI had a great reputation but I will absolutely be back again. Thanks!

I bought a $300 tent online about 4 years ago and this summer when I opened up my tent, the fly was completely ruined. I must have left it in my car and it got too hot because the glue melted and stuck together... Anyways I brought it into the store and asked to buy a new fly, only funny story--rei doesnt sell just flies alone! I was upset because I wasnt about to buy a whole new tent when all I needed was a fly. George talked with me for maybe 5 minutes and ended up ordering me a new tent, completely free of charge! I dont think he needed to do that since the tent was so old, but he went above and beyond to make my experience pleasant. Not to mention he seemed like a great guy and we talked about recent hiking trips for a while. Overall, Im very happy with my experience and I give them 5 stars because of George alone! Thanks!! :)

Service was very good, but store didnt have any hiking shoes for my wide feet. Also no z-poles in a proper (100cm) length for my 54" girlfriend. Both items available on-line only. And even the calendar of events over the urinal in the mens room was located 8“ too high for easy reading (not that reading is all that good an idea when using a urinal) for this 59" guy. Conclusion: if youre shorter than average or have wide feet, REI apparently doesnt need your business all that badly.

This REI and thier staff are great. They really try to make your shopping experience a good one. We had some issues when we placed a big order online and was having it shipped to this store. The follow up and tracking on our product was non existent and we were extremely disappointed and expected more from REI. The manager wanted to keep us happy as members/customers and offered to discount the product. Staff and products are top notch!

I live like a half mile away, these REI people are the best... I mean it, knowledgeable, nice, good. I broke something off a black diamond pole that was out of warranty and out of stock... I was expecting to have a hassle, he walks in the back, in the used/damaged stuff, and comes back with a perfect part for free. Just for good service, AMAZING. That free part bought YEARS of my loyalty.

REI takes outdoor gear and customer service to the next level. The staff is knowledgeable about the products and where to go use them locally. Want to learn about bears? They have a class for that. What to learn how to do your own bike maintenance? They have a class for that. Amazing product lineup and the best staff possible to explain how to use and have fun with it.

Everything outdoor-related I need close to my home. REI has a bigger location in Seattle, so if you are not finding what you need at Issaquah, consider visiting that shop. They are also on pricey side (though quality is good). For very basic equipment, consider visiting humbler competitors like Big5 - you may find better prices there.

Amazing customer service. Always blown away by the expertise of their employees. All I did was come in to buy new hiking boots and I learned way more about their construction than I ever needed to know! Ive also had to return a pair of boots that didnt live up to my expectations, and they were very helpful. Thanks guys!

It is sooo nice to have a REI close to where I live. Although, they do not have everything, most customer service representatives will try very hard to get you what you want. I love the Nordstrom return policy and please do not try to abuse this. Be a good person and be honest. Karma will get you.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staffs. I have purchased running, swimming, hiking gears and apparels from this store. The quality of the product is good but the color choices could be limited. Very often I ended up with my second choice of color.

There is no REI at this address, its on Gilman. Since my "review" must be 100 characters, Ill say that I did go to the REI in Issaquah and they were extremely friendly and helpful. I just picked up a pair of hiking boots.

No Customer service! Multiple customers looked just as confused as myself. I shouldnt have to "hunt" down an employee to ask about an item worth hundreds of dollars. I really like REI sad to leave a bad review.

This REI is smaller than the Redmond REI, but bigger than the one in Tukwila. Its worth a look in like every other REI if youre in the area, and has a decent sock/shoe selection compared to similar sized REIs.

I love REI. This location is pretty small so they dont carry large items like kayaks and other large items but as always the employees are very helpful and for smaller ever day items this is a great spot.

Everyone was so helpful, especially Lisa in the foot wear department. She made sure I knew about the latest sales so I can wait, and save money. She also made sure i found the perfect hiking boots.

This is the location where I begin my REI membership ~ was planning for a cross-country trip that would last about four months and the staff were very helpful and accommodating.

Garage sale day. Extremely crowded very few staff to assist with non garage sale items and the check out line made me return my over $400 worth of gear for a different retailer.

It is a bit smaller than other REI locations but Issaquah finally got one. No climbing wall and the selection is smaller but your camping and outdoor needs can easily be met.

Another REI in yuppieville but the folks here are really helpful and has a lot of great gear for the needs on the pacific northwest. Not the flagship, but itll do

Bought 2 Osprey backpacks from here on 2 separate occasions. Both times, their staff members in this department were very knowledgeable, nice and helpful.

If you can afford not too bad. Though Ive noticed the quality of the products have diminished a little. Hold up about as well as items from Fred Meyer.
