After their grand opening last June, Cycle Works has quickly become arguably the most welcoming and community oriented bike shop in town. The owner Stirling is a seasoned mechanic and well versed in the workings of the bike industry. His entire staff are bike enthusiasts, eager to help you however they can without coming off like salesmen. The service section of the shop doubles a customer lounge with a redwood bar table and stools where you can have a beer while the mechanics work their magic on your bike. On that note, they also host a number of BBQs, demos, and group shuttle events for customers during the year in partnership with Cyclepath Outfitters! So, whether youre a seasoned mountain bike shredder, roadie watt machine, coffee shop commuter, or a newbie on a budget whos feeling a little bike-curious, make sure you stop by Cycle Works soon! No nonsense, no elitism, just good bike people. Cheers!

Coming from Tahoe for a few days, I rode Wilder Ranch and the University today (1st ever for any ride in SC) but I took Taylors recommendation for which trails to try out---had an amazing time and definitely puts your skills and endurance to the test. This guy knows the trails out here. Upon returning from the ride, had the pleasure to meet Jason who was just as amazing as Taylor---he washed my bike, lubed up the chain, and stored the bike inside out of courtesy while I ran across the street for a quick bite. These guys are the best and I will be returning when I can make it down here again!

I had to get my friends Santa Cruz bike shipped to Texas through the store and the staff is very attentive and caring unlike some shops that are more of less focused on bike sales. Cathy focuses on helping you experience the best possible bike experience both on and off the saddle. True customer service store worth developing a lifelong customer relationship. I do not know how price competitive this place is but it would be hard not to shop here if you want to experience one of the best bike shops in SoCal.

Best bike shop in Santa Cruz, hands down. They have helped me countless times with small repairs and tunes without any of the condescension that comes from other shops if you dont have a ton of money to spend. Taylor got me in and out this morning WHILE I was on my morning commute. Cant say enough about these guys. Truly a bike shop for the people. They understand that if you provide good honest service then people will tell their friends and come back and spend money!

Cycle Works has a great variety of bicycles, not only that but the staff are very friendly and will help you with anything you might have questions about. Overall this bike shop is very unique and i would definetely reccommend it to anybody. They also let you demo a certain bike if you wanted to test it which is a great thing if youre looking to purchase a bike, but maybe youre not sure how it rides. Well what else can i say? Stop on by and check out this sweet shop!

They replaced a rear inner tube while a waited for just 5 dollars. I asked for advice on a replacement for a broken front derailleur and they took the time to lay out the best options. Overall I got the impression that they really wanted to make sure I got the best parts and service to match my budget and needs. They really like bikes and it was fun talking to them!

This place is the best. Stirling and Hanna are super helpful. I wanted to get a bike that was comfortable for my back and they helped me figure out something that fit me just right. Whenever people come to town I tell them to go here to get their rental bikes because they have a lot of different kinds of bikes to rent.

I almost never write reviews but this place deserves it. This place is by far SC best bike shop. It might not be that big but the staff listens to you and finds the best solution to what you want. Had my bike repaired here a number of times and was totally happy each time with the results. Will buy my next bike here!

Worked with Cathy to get the right bike for me. When I ordered the wrong size (against her recommendation) and then later changed my mind, she kindly ordered the right bike for me and got it in in 2 days. Great experience and I would highly recommend Sprockets.
