I have been drafting here on Wednesday nights for 2 months. I went to draft like every other time and i was informed that as of Dec 14, 2016, not only do you have to provide your DCI number but you have to provide your name, cell phone number, and email address to be add to their promotional software. I told the clerk working behind the register that my DCI number and my $13 fee should be enough to play. That is when the clerk stated that if i did not provide that information per the owners request I have to pay an additional surcharge if i wanted to play MTG standard. Not only did i refuse to provide that information but refused to pay the surcharge. Let me get this straight your going to let me play a game that i have to pay to begin with and your going to spam and sell my information, I dont think so, i will go somewhere else to play and spend my money somewhere else.

Nice cozy store with a huge selection of comics and games. The store is lit well, easy to browse, and the staff is very friendly and happy to help you. They moved locations a while ago so some of the old reviews are no longer valid. Im not into comics but the selection is diverse enough to make me interested. The prices seem fair aswell. The old game consoles are interesting too, so if youre into that youre bound to find something youll like. Also, the Friday Night Magic community is excellent and managed well. Only problem I can see is the store is quite small, so sometimes its hard to navigate when it fills up for events. I got turned down because the midnight event was filled up, but he was very generous in his apology and I was happy to come the next day for another event. Space cat is a great store for any comic/retro game/magic the gathering enthusiasts!

If youre looking for comics, theyre probably more helpful but I was looking for cards and the person I was talking to seemed annoyed I was wasting their time looking for some Commons that had gotten lost in shipping. I asked if they had the cards and the response was "We have some expensive stuff. Some not expensive stuff. And we have some packs but nothing specific." I said "oh, okay, thanks." and was about to ask another question when I was hung up on. Story 2: I once went to spacecats to participate in their mtg game day and the person who was supposed to run the event called in sick so he could attend fanime! The person at the counter that informed us of this offered to try to run the event but she was not a judge and we didnt want the only employee in the store to be troubled with this. This happened a couple years ago.

Obviously "someone" is paying to have negative reviews removed. 3 years ago, Space Cat was littered with way more negative than positive reviews on YELP. I actually cant believe this place in still in business. They ripped me off back in 06 for $150.00. During the economic downturn, the owner bragged on Craigslist that he would pay only pittance wages (minimum wage) for a store manager . Unbelievably he said this outright in print (I have the printout of the Craigslist Ad) because he knew people were so incredibly desperate for work. I hope his daughter is happy that her education is partially subsidized by her father stealing from people.

Came here to check out the shop as I was told there was a Comic/Card shop near the mall. I was very disappointed by the poorly lit room and dusty feel of the store. The store felt congested and musty. I went to look at the cards they had on sale, while a non buying customer spent minutes block the case and talking to the staff. I was finally greeted by the nice girl behind the counter trying to best handle my questions. Slightly more overprice than your usual store, but can understand where businesses need to make profit especially at their size. Would not come back here unless something strongly convinced me to do so.

I started going to SpaceCat when it was still on Bascom Ave and I was amazed at the size of store and the amount of Comics, TPBs and Toys available. They staff has always been friendly and helpful when looking for things. The new location at 1415 W San Carlos St. seems a bit sketchy from the outside as its somewhat tucked away from the main road and has bars on all the windows. The inside is not as roomy as the old location but it works well and I was able to find my way around. Looking forward to setting up a few subscriptions.

Went there a couple days ago (7/29/15) and after taking a moment to find it as I didnt see the sign out front. Inside is a little crowded but thats only because they have a LOT of stuff, which I love. Their back stock is amazing and almost solely what I bought, sadly I wasnt feeling well and was unable to go threw it all as there was so much, my friend and I plan to go back in a week and a half or so! Its much better then what Monterey has to offer me and Santa Cruz has to offer her.

Very cool place. They have old school video game councils for sale. So much to take in as you walk around, ever square inch is utilized. Today is free comic book day so I grabbed me an X-men gold#1 and The Walking Dead #163. While I was walking around I spotted a cool hologram Batman DC Universe rebirth #22 and took it home with me. Over all this is a great comic book store with a friendly owner. If your like me and nerd out on comic books Id definitely recommend them.

My fiancé and I were in the area and decided to check out. The selection was good, the staff was friendly and it was an enjoyable experience. I found to silver age FF fairly priced. With Ebay saturating the comic book dealer market and giving private collectors a platform to sell as well, I am surprised stores like these are still in business. I definitely will give them my businesses. BTW, Charlie was too adorable for words!

I started coming here around January this year, and its become a weekly (sometimes biweekly) trip for me and my friends. Everybody there is great and knows their stuff; there have been some great conversations and recommendations for books, and our first impressions of the store were what kept us coming back. Always a highlight of my week.

A really cool, fresh store with lots of toys, games, albums and movies you dont find at other shops. The prices are fair. The staff is friendly and welcomes veteran and new readers of all ages. They support indie creators. And YES they have Cathair Apocalypse!

I like their large stock, with lots of TPBs that have been there for years, and one of their managers knows his comics really well. However, the shop is a bit grimy generally, and keep your kids out of the porno section! Good place for t-shirts and toys too.
