Its good to see that there are still independent game stores out there. This one, only due to the nearby community, reminds me of Matts Game Exchange days. But I think Matts may have had better prices and more selection due to at the time either ebay didnt exist or didnt have enough steam yet. I asked for a trade in credit and this store offered me 5.59x less than they were going to flip it for. I havent heard of this before, maybe 3x less I can understand but I could easily sell my item for 50 bucks on ebay at some point maybe even more. But at least they arent pushy. The staff is laid back, possibly even bored because staying inside this stagnant of a place (it is kinda smelly like new comic book stores, ick) doesnt leave a lot to the imagination during the work day. I basically just drifted back into the store and looked around. The prices are good if it is what you need and want it locally, I mean we arent talking an arm and a leg here, but yeah you can usually buy some of these things online for less but it can take a bit of looking around. Id say that youd get a better deal if Goodwill has what youre looking for in stock, but good luck with that. With all these shops and ebay scalpers looking around out there you have to be on top of it when the store gets things in. Anyway I wish there was a store like this closer by but this is the only one out there. I miss Funcoland a whole lot. That was the best used game store to ever exist. Too bad Gamestop gobbled up all the good stuff. Some day we will all be shopping at Target and Walmart for video games, Im assuming.

I wish I could give less than one star, this place is so dishonest and uncustomer-friendly. I wanted a genuine Nintendo 64 controller and since they only had 3rd party controllers, I was put on the wait list. A few weeks later I finally got a call saying they had one. I drive there and buy the controller for about $21 all told. When I get home and removed the plastic to test it out, I find that the Z-button is broken, the D-pad is unresponsive and the joystick had been replaced with a very stiff and uncomfortable 3rd party joystick. So the next day, I go back and try to return it, but they point out the bottom of the receipt states they do not do returns and can only offer store credit. They did not tell me this before I bought the product and clearly do their best to hide this when they sell products. What am I gonna do with store credit to a place that lies and sells broken products? It wouldnt be a big deal if I wasnt strapped for cash but of course I am. What kind of store doesnt offer refunds on broken products? Ive never had a worse shopping experience in my life. Do NOT go here if you are looking for quality retro video game products

Wanted to buy a game that had been sitting on the shelf for 5 months. Last weekend was quoted one price, went back a week later and offered them only $2 less than what I was quoted last weekend and my offer was declined. Ok fine I understand discounts arent a human right. (Although I spent over $200 last weekend)...So then I said ok Ill pay the quoted price I was given last week and they said NO!! He said the game has increased in value, when its only been a week and has not changed in value. I left the store dissatisfied and ended up going to Competitors store and spent $300 as they were reasonable on prices. - Sean T Santa Rosa

When I first came here, I thought, oh its going to be a thrift store for video games. But, when I walked in, I was completely blown away! The store was awesome! When I found out theyre moving, I thought goodbye Phoenix Games forever. But, a few months later, I spotted the Phoenix Games sign while passing by IHOP. After walking in their new store, I was once again blown away! They now have a bigger arcade! So, if youre looking to sell, play, buy, and relive the feelings of retro games, come to Phoenix Games!

I like this place for the pinball machines. A few months ago I got a WII U and was ordering games and accessories online. I called them to see if they had a charger cable and they did! I was looking at 4 different stores only to find Phoenix games had everything and a ton of games at the best prices! They have games for every gaming system and a lot of joysticks, cables etc. Come play some pinball too!

These guys are awesome! Chris helped me try and find my husband an old PS2 and was totally up front and honest about the ones I was looking at online compared to the ones they had. Everything we have bought from them for both our Playstation and Playstation 2 has been in PRISTINE condition. This is amazing to me considering how old the games/consoles are! So glad I ran across them.

When I walk in Im transported to a more simple, more peaceful time. They seem to have everything youre looking for, but if somehow they dont they take requests and will keep an eye out for you! Even if they find it and you decide you dont want it, no fee or penalty. All games are tested and cleaned, returns are welcome so long as it falls within the terms and for store credit.

If you want it, they either have it or are willing to take down your name and number so that you can be the one to get it when it does come in. If youre after old school video games, THIS is where you want to go. The staff is helpful and friendly and the arcade is a blast. Even if you dont find anything you want to buy you will still spend 20 min in there playing pinball.

THE!!!! BEST!!! Place to get retro games at a fare and reasonable price, every time I head over to Antioch, on my way, I stop by here and search for games on my list. Its friendly environment and blistering collection with the boxes and manuals keep me coming back. I cant tell u how much I enjoy coming here and browsing when ever I head over that way.

This gem of a store is a great throwback to my childhood. It seems they carry every game ever made since the Atari came out! The staff is very friendly and happy to help you find whatever youre looking for. Theres even a classic pinball arcade in the back. Phoenix Games is a store you must visit for any of your electronic gaming needs!

There arent very many independent video game stores in the bay area, but ive been to all of them and Phoenix is the best. They have a huge selection of retro games here and have great prices on N64 and NES stuff. The staff is super nice and will actually take the time to get to know you. Id take this place over gamestop anyday.

Stumbled on this place with my stepdaughter and its gotta be one of the coolest game stores on the planet....especially love the pinball machines the back! The owner is extremely knowledgeable about the product, the genres of games and what like-type games are out there....Will definitely be back!
