A great hole in the wall with tons of choices, Streetlight maintains a great stock of vinyl and CDs. Ive found brand new releases with ease, and lots of great albums in the $2 bin under the full price bins for vinyl. For the most part, they tend to be placed there because they have a surplus of that specific album or one of the tracks is somewhat scratched. Their prices are fair, about what youd find the same albums for on a vinyl-specific website. If you searched on somewhere like Amazon, you could probably find a few items cheaper, but its certainly not the majority. The music played in the store is always a different genre every time I come in, but it is always good. The staff dont bother you too much, which is usually pretty good for a record store, though I do recall one female employee getting rather loud and disrupting the music upon my last visit. This is a minority incident, though, and I do hope to visit Streetlight again very soon.

Musicians, dont waste your time. I was on a West Coast Tour and had been emailing their "booker" for months. We had the date confirmed, when he totally fell off the grid. We headed to Santa Cruz the day of and I called once again to try and get some more details on the evening and I discovered that our show was not even on the calendar. He hadnt even marked the date, though we had confirmed the show. We ended up with no show that night. It was such extreme unprofessionalism, and totally unacceptable to flake when we were planning on holding up our end of the bargain.

If youre into vinyl, welcome to your Santa Cruz mecca. A huge selection of records, from oldies to new releases. Its fun just to flip through the records to pass the time when youre meandering up Pacific Avenue. They also sell some video games, CDs and DVDs, though honestly their prices on those arent any better than what you can get off Amazon.

Love the atmosphere, and the music they play while were browsing. The staff is always nice, friendly, and knowledgeable of all types of music. I love that we always find the music we are looking for every time we go.
