The Glen Ellen Village Market is the hub of this tiny town and the place any local shops who doesnt want to be taxed with driving all the way to Sonoma or Santa Rosa. This grocery store is well-cared for, and we appreciate the efforts they make to carry some vegetarian staples like tofu and rice milk, but their organic produce section is poor. Perhaps its due to lack of space - the store is quite small - but the organics get well less than 1/3 of the space in the produce department and real basics like organic potatoes, onions and garlic are missing. The organic fruit is below average quality and the prices on everything are top dollar. With Glen Ellens extremely wealthy population, it is a surprise to us that they arent specializing in healthy organics...their customers can afford them. They carry a good local bread selection - both Artisan and Basque bakery are represented there. Yet, if you shop after work, chances are they will have run out of bread by that time of day. We would like to see this store ordering more bread for their evening shoppers. Management must see that they run completely out every day by about 6 oclock. A nice supplement/personal care section. Well above average! And very friendly customer service in this department of the store. The checkers are generally very pleasant and efficient, too. Cleanliness is above average and location is certainly the best thing this neighborhood grocery has going for it. A trip to this small, well-cared for market is more like a nice outing than a tiresome errand. The store is pleasant to shop in, but best to avoid at rush hour when lines can be very slow moving at the few registers up front.

This store does a wonderful service to the community, as it can aid the picnickers, the travelers, the explorers, as well as provide for the locals and community just trying to get advil or some cheese for taco night. This is a member of Nugget markets, which also used to be Paradise Markets, if you are from Southern Marin. The prices are *VERY* fair for the quality of product, people, and pre-prepped food that is available. The quality of the deli and butcher are top notch, and their pre-made sandwich selection is WONDERFUL! Whats more, theyve a condiment section that has a delightfully curated medley of staples and then some wild hot sauces, etc. Their wine section is top notch, and you arent just captive to the surrounding 40 miles worth of wineries... there was some minerally wild sauv from Paso Robles, and some FANTASTIC french rose, of course. That Gerard Bertrand is stellar! Glen Ellen is an adorable hamlet, and even for the well traveled local, its easy to fly past. Its an adorable little spot, with lots of shade to beat the heat. Its a large, normal market with a parking lot, which is helpful, to say the least. Really friendly, incredible curation and execution of product, and each department stands out on its own.... even the coffee dept has cute little frozen coffee ice cubes, so you dont water down your coffee while cruising through wine country with the top down. Thanks. Well be back a lot. Cheers to all of you. You made my birthday.

We live in Glen Ellen and do our grocery shopping here...the quality is excellent and service is great. Full butcher shop, gourmet deli, hot food, and large wine selection. Even breakfast is great here for a quick grab...espresso drinks or self serve high end coffee. The salad bar is excellent and the deli salads and specials are too. The line of pannini sandwichs are local favorites. Hot soups are all good...the chicken curry especially. Owners stock locally obtained produce and meats and the organic selection is large.

I love this place and judging from from the locals, so do they! This store is owned by the Nugget grocery company, which also owns the Forklift store in Cameron Park, which happens to be my favorite grocery store. They have a great selection of everything, and I mean it! I frequent this store many times during the day when I weekend in Glen Ellen. I love it!

This market is sure to please any foodies who stop by. Was in town for the weekend and this place was within walking distance of our Airbnb. I was able to pick up some donuts and mimosa ingredients for breakfast in the morning. The staff were all very nice and helpful.

Do you plan a picnic at one of the wineries? Do yourself a favor and stop here, they have excellent sandwiches, salads, soups, wraps, olives, cheese or whatever else you might want for a picnic that works very well with every local wine.

Food is good the service is the worse....The DELI NEVER EVER answers their phone, except one time, someone answered it, said nothing, I heard a click and then no sound at all. If you are that busy get more help at the rush hours.

Cant say how thankful we are to your deli, and store manager! Thank you for preparing the charcuterie and cheese platters for our wedding. They looked gorgeous and tasted even better. Your handwritten hard was such a sweet touch.

Very cute little organic supermarket. You find almost everything you are looking for. Organic non homogenized milk, good deli, etc. And the people working there are always very friendly as well

Great stop! Prices are worth it, especially for their sandwhiches! They also have a nice selection of beers! More importantly they support their local wineries! Whats not to love?!
