About a the end of February I had to change the breaks for my Ford Focus. Making an appointment was so easy I got one for the next day in the morning. Came in got a wonderful experience with Ivan who guided me on the prices before i gave authorization to get the work done. I did like that the time he told me my car would be ready was accurate. I selected a day i had no work nor school nor weekend plannings witch worked out fine for me. Well after picking up my car the break service was spectacular, the tune up, oil change and spark plugs where also an additional fantastic job. My car no longer shook, nor made the squeaky noise. Technically all the problems my car had where fixed (What i paid for was worth it). Well two days ago March 22, 2016 my cars steering wheel came lose while i was in the road. I called road assistance from my insurance and the driver asked me, "Where would you like to take the car?" I said, "Pep boys." He giggles and said, "I dont think they have the skills to fix that." But i refused to listen and i called the PEP BOYS guys told them what happened and with no hesitation told me to bring in the car. So i did and i was hoping for a good answer of being able to fix it. My car stays for the night well the next day i get a call from the PEP BOYS that they fixed the steering wheel and a part that was hitting my motor. I cant complain about the price (Bring your coupon guys from online). As soon as i get in my car i started my engine WOW WOW WOW my car felt brand new. I have never felt my car so smooth when i drove it and man was the steering wheel nice and firm. I want to thank the Tech guys, the Manager, Ivan and everyone in the PEP BOYS TEAM!! Thank you I did not miss work, for school i took the bus (WOW BIG DEAL). It just takes patience cant expect these guys to finish a car in 1 or 2 hours depending on the situation too. But over ALL thank you guys you have made a life time customer. (Switching from Jiffy Lube to PEP BOYS)! P.S...More coupons PEP BOYS :D or a little bundle deal would be awesome.

Went here to have them install a serpentine belt about 3 months ago. I looked under the hood yesterday doing regular maintenance and apparently I have been running without a tensioner bolt. I think okay, a simple mistake, happens all the time. I go back and ask the guy to look at it. He tells me "Oh, it appears that bolt hole is stripped, youll need a new tensionor pulley assembly, a bolt id have to special order(the one they lost), labors costs (obviously) and a warranty." Came out to over $300.00. I took my vehicle home, cleaned the supposedly "stripped hole" and what do you know, it was not stripped. If it was I wouldnt be able to have put a bolt in there and have it lock up tight. It took me a $2.50 bolt and a washer to fix the problem. In addition to all this, he tried to cover his behind saying he told me that he suggested a new idler pulley when he put the belt on. He said he suggested it. There was no mention of a stripped bolt hole(back when they put the belt on), and suggesting a new pulley is routine with new belts, especially with a 19 year old truck. It is kind of important (sarcasm, its 100% needed, kind of like gasoline), because without it how did the mechanic tension my belt? Im surprised it lasted so long, but I only drive 1 mile to work, and they probably over torqued the other bolt on the pulley and stripped that one because it is aluminum (for the mechanically inclined). The employees were acting professionally each time I went here, but were getting very snobby when they started to think they were better than me for knowing how to put a bolt in. They obviously do not know the first thing about, well, anything.

The experience wasnt mine but I needed to comment. About a month ago by son in law took their car in because there was an issue with the brakes. After inspecting the vehicle they called my son in law over to show them what they found. The brakes were a mess. The whole brakes system literally was just hanging on. The shop that had done the job didnt tighten the parts and well quite frankly my daughter and the lives of her family could have been killed due to the neglect of the previous shop. The mechanics at PepBoys documented what was found and advised to video what it looked like for future reference. I comment because they could of just did the repair but they were in such disbelief of what they found they thought we should know. It did take awhile for the repair but my family felt confidant that they would be safe now. My daughter actually cried realizing that her or her family could of been killed if the brakes had failed due to the bad repairs done. In case anyone is wondering, the bad repair was done at Midas in Hemet, CA. The manager (possible owner) actually hung up on my son in law when he called about the issue. Sounds like it may be a norm for them. Anyway thank you PepBoys in Fullerton, CA for repairing my families vehicle so they could travel in safety.

They quoted me the cheapest price over the phone. After I had the work done, I know why it was so cheap. I needed a fuel pump replaced and it took them four days. They kept calling me and telling me it that it had more problems, but they werent sure what it was. They finally called me and told me it was ready. When I picked it up, the only thing done to it was the fuel pump. I asked them what about the other problems and the lady had no idea about what was going on. Then I get in the truck and the fuel gauge wasnt working. They told me I was going to have to leave it with them again so they could replace the pump which must have been defective. UGG!!! I refused and took it to an independent shop who was twice as much, but got the job done in one day and also pointed out that I should change my filter because it was clogged which probably caused the pump to fail. I will never go to Pep Boys again.

Bad service. Went to get my breaks done. The guy at the counter said it will be done in 2-3 hours. I went to see a movie. Came back, still not done. I asked how long and that I have been waiting for so long. The guy at the counter says, 1 more hour and that we will cut you a deal on the service. The manager gets a whiff of this and comes to see my receipt to "make sure they didnt charge you more than was owed". I checked. No discount. When I went to talk to the guy at the counter, the manager had him leave from the back. I saw the guy at the counter leaving from the back and caught up to him and asked what happened to the discount, he said...take it up with the manager. The manager made it clear that he was not giving a discount. Why say it in the first place? I couldve just taken my car and got it serviced elsewhere.
