Is 5.5 stars an option? I have been visiting this store in Tucson, AZ for well over a decade. First because of the obvious appeal, puppies. But now for so much more. I purchased my black lab from Amanda at Animal Kingdom back in October 2012. I fell in love with this creature the moment we met. I was hesitant to spend such a large amount of money on "a dog from the pet store" when I could have "just looked in the classifieds for a lab breeder" as many said. But no. How can you put a cost on a companion? A cost on peace of mind? You cant. I was able to immediately see his vet records, proof of vacinations and vet visits, see his breeders information & where he came from. Lucky enough to see photos of his parents too! My favorite part of this is, I was able to contact his breeder before I even made the decision to take him home. Ask her about his temperament as a puppy, his parents temperaments & so on. She was and is such a kind woman who retired to breed & raise her labs. You could tell her whole life is dedicated to this job. And everyone who was able to experience my lab as a puppy knew he was raised by hand and with care! To this day I am still in contact with her. I send her pictures of my grown up boy & she sends me pictures of his aging dad. Ive asked her to let me know when another puppy comes through from his bloodline and she has! Will eventually be getting a girl from his bloodline! Amanda was so helpful in this process as well. She and her coworkers made sure I had everything I needed to take this destructive lab puppy home for the first time. Im happy to have spent the money on a companion knowing he didnt come from the average backyard breeder or puppy mill. Four years later, I have the best black lab out there & nothing but good things to say of Animal Kingdom. So basically, highly recommended. Thank you AK!

I dont understand how people can come here and not see how sad and inhumane this store is. This store caught my attention while walking through the mall not because of the cute puppy I saw but the puppy I heard barking, crying and scratching at the cage. You DO NOT put a dog behind glass and have people think its cute, would you like to be behind that glass on display in distress? I dont think so. I also noticed the dogs had no food, no water, were laying on soiled shredded newspaper. Seriously? How is this cute? How is this good for the dogs to lay in their own bodily fluids? Once again I ask would you enjoy this? The answer is probably not. Lastly the store was terribly hot. I can only imagine the temperature in those torture chambers. Dogs need grass. Fresh air. Human interaction and physical exercise. None of which happen here. Do yourself a favor. Go to the animal shelter or rescue and interact with dogs who need homes with less expensive price tags and who receive far better treatment then these poor animals. Whoever responds to these comments: please leave your name and number so I can contact you personally and express more of my concerns. Thank you.

Just bought a beagle pup from them a week ago. I took her to the vet two days ago and brought the fecal sample and found out she has worms. Im so upset because for those three or so days my cat and I could of been infected and still might be. Im going to have to get a fecal test on my cat bailey and probably myself. The puppy was drinking out of my cats water bowl and sometime eating his food. Though I wash my hands regularly I still wonder if ima infected just because I might of pet her and then ate something. I feel like I was screwed by these people. I dont have a lot of money to be spending on vet and doctor appointments. How could they sell me this puppy with worms and put my whole household in danger. I cant even return her if I wanted to. I feel like I need to keep her in her play pen tell this is all settled. But I will never by from them agian for the reason above but also you cant tell what energy level they are. If I was to have gone to a breeder and been able to be around several beagle puppys I could of made sure I got the right beagle pup with the right energy.

Is this guy serious? 150+ active breeding dogs isnt a puppy mill? what kind of world is he living in? Not only that, every single one of the breeders listed on their webpage has had multiple inquiries and reports about the conditions they keep their animals in. One breeder forced another pet store into quarantine for all of their animals because a puppy from the mill had a lethal virus. Others have reports of lacerations on the jaws of the dogs. Oh, not only that, the owner was ACTIVELY fighting a bill in Arizona that was directly TARGETED AT PUPPY MILLS. Now why would he in fact, be fighting a bill attempting to prevent puppy mill dogs from being sold, if he himself states they do not buy from puppy mills? what an odd contradiction. Do not believe a word that comes out of this persons mouth when they actively spout lies that can easially be found just by simple googling not only the breeders name, but the owner of this horrific pet shops name.

This pet store only offers the convenience of seeing and buying multiple breeds at once. Yet for the price is laughable considering the quality of dogs you get. Granted these are by no means show quality dogs, yet simple defects can be spotted by talking to any reputable breeder of the breed you are looking for and at the same price or even cheaper... Do yourself a favor and wait to get that puppy and go to the local all-breed specialty shows, and talk with some breeders/handlers. 95% of the time you get a health guarantee because they are breeding for healthy dogs not to turn a profit. I guarantee you will bee happier with a breeder whipping to work with you and make sure you understand the needs of the breed.

Employees are uneducated. I was near the rabbit pen when a customer asked how long do rabbits live. An employee says, "Rabbits live four years." I turned around and corrected her saying they live between 9-12 years. She instantly became hostile saying she has six plus years of "professional animal experience." I told her she was doing it wrong then, and later showed her countless resources saying 9-12, 8-12 years etc. She refused to admit she was wrong and says she doesnt "believe everything on google..." Really? If EVERY cite proves you wrong, then that means your wrong. Never buy from a pet store that has employees that cannot even tell you basic information about the animals they sell.

I purchased a bunny from this store on my birthday. After a day we noticed he was bleeding through his nose and his eyes and was screaming. We took him to the vet the next day only to find out he had a broken rib. When I purchased him he was the last one there and was half off. They told me they dont have a return policy if he is hurt. I didnt think much on the price since it was after Easter and he was the only one there but after he died from a broken rib three days later I think someone at the store dropped him or someone purchased him dropped him then returned him and the store tried to sell him half off to get rid of him. I refuse to go back to the store.
