Bliffert has been in this location for years, but as far as I know it was only open to contractors and only sold lumber and trim. Im really happy to see them put a retail location in. The store is new and very nice. Things are well organized and Bliffert has a nice selection of anything one would find at a hardware store. Its great to have a closer alternative to Home Depot, not to mention that the service is easily 100 times better than Home Depot. Instead having to chase down someone wearing an orange vest (who is trying to hide/ walk away as fast a possible), the employees come up and ask if youre doing ok/ finding what you need!

If you are a woman walking into the store and you are being helped by one of the older men, you will most likely be treated as though you know nothing about building or hardware in general. I wish this wasnt the case because I like going to Bliffert to get supplies, but now I go elsewhere or I make sure to work with one of the younger men or women working in the store. Not all of the older males treat women as said previously, but a good amount of them do. It is never a good feeling walking in there.

It was so nice to be able to go to a locally owned store and to not have to brave the Home Depot on Port Washington. I always feel swallowed by that store and can rarely find good assistance when I actually need it. At Bliffert, I was immediately helped by a friendly and informed employee...who dealt with my ignorance of appliance parts quite well :) I will definitely do all of my further home repair shopping at Bliffert and will encourage my friends to do the same.

The best. Friendly, extremely knowledgeable staff. You cant hang out here for 5 minutes without being offered assistance at least 2 or 3 times. Their product selection is superior to the big guys, and they carry many items that cannot be found anywhere else in the city. Carry do it best, Milwaukee, and channel lock brands. Great lumber yard and tool rental too. Only downside is slightly higher prices, but they make up for that with expertise and quality.

To say the prices are a little higher than the home improvement superstores is to forget to pay yourself for your time wandering the Byzantine aisles searching for the stuff you need. You cant take ten steps in Bliffert without being offered help. The selection is a well-curated balance with enough options but not so many as to overwhelm. Start your project at Bliffert and youll have enough daylight left afterwards to actually finish it.

Great local store. Some things cost a little more than they would at Home Depot or Menards, for example, but these are the Walmarts of hardware and lumber, and paying a little more is rewarded with excellent service, less wait time, knowledgeable staff who are always there to help and the good feeling of not supporting big corp. I put Bliffert right up there with Crown Plumbing.

We bought all the lumber for our home renovation including bath from Blifferts. Always a pleasure to deal with. Recently there was a mistake made on the size of trim and the customer service guy gave me a replacement at no cost. We will be buying more lumber for a bathroom repair in the coming months.

Ken is a gift from God. Not only did we get to buy premium lumber we got an experience of a lifetime. He assisted us not only in our purchases he constructed the wooden arch we were building for a wedding right in store. 5 stars 10/10 100% A+ you go ken, you go !
