I am surprised at so many good reviews this place has gotten. My experience was completely negative. I took an appointment before going there and clearly told them over phone what I am looking for. When my wife and I got there, we were assigned a salesman named Rafael to work with us. Rafael took us to an empty desk, asked us what we are looking for and then he left saying he will be back in few mins. Guess what... he never returned and nor did someone else. About 5 mins later, my wife looked back and saw Rafael sitting in a different cubicle with a different customer. We waited for about 10+ mins and then we got up and started walking around in the showroom to look at cars hoping he would notice us. He passed by us about 2 times and nothing. Not even a word like we were invisible. Approx 15 mins later, a salesman saw us walking around in showroom and came to ask us if we needed help and I told him that I am still waiting for Rafael. Honestly I should have left at this point. This was a good enough sign that these people dont deserve my business. Then another salesman showed up and told us that he will work with us and Rafaels appointment showed up. I was surprised to hear that since I myself had an appointment. Anyways, this salesman took us for a test drive and when we came back, he was very insistent on we buy the car just then. I told him that I havent really made up my mind yet, so I am not going to and need time to think it over. He asked me what am I confused about and gave me a piece of sheet to write pros and cons of two cars I was actually considering :-). He was like ..just write it and then he left. When he didnt show up for next 5 mins, my wife and I got up to leave and just then a third sales person showed up for his sales pitch. They seem to have this intricate system of selling car I think. When one person doesnt succeed, another one shows up with new tricks up their sleeve. I went to 3 other dealers in Bellevue, Kirkland and Redmond area as well and no one...I mean no one behaved like this. People at other dealerships were courteous and patient and thats why one of them got my business.

This is part of a letter I wrote Renton Honda after they ignored me for a couple of months on a warranty repair. I bought my new (2012) CRV from them. "My CRV was still under warranty and this was not a critical problem, but after a month, I decided to contact Renton Honda. I used your websites "contact us" text option, detailing my questions and concerns. God knows where this went, but nobody contacted me. I tried again with the same (lack of) results. Im assuming it went to sales, where some feckless, sociopathic #@*&head decided that it wasnt going to make him money, so piss off. Weeks passed. The end of my warranty was in sight and I wanted to get this taken care of, so I called. I reached someone who I can only assume was a "front desk"/receptionist person. She seemed mystified by my inquiry, so I suggested she contact someone in the service department. She put me on hold for a long time. I was just about to hang up when she got back on the phone. She told me that she would have a service person call, or email me for a resolution. She did not use the term, "resolution," by the way. I got the distinct impression that I was interrupting a selfie, or an urgent vote for "American Idol." No call. No email. I did get an offer in the mail from Renton Honda to buy my CRV. Yeah. Right. Okay. You bet. Ill get right back to you on this. I went to Renton Honda because a friend worked there. She said she could get me the "friends and family" discount. She is a nice person and I like her. I might have gotten some discount and she might have gotten a referral fee. Thats okay with me. I like to deal with trust and reliability, the last dollar is not as important as these qualities. Relationships matter. Service matters. Reliability matters (thats why I bought a Honda). This is why I have gone to Burien Honda. They gave me great service (overnight part), staff was friendly, knowledgeable and communicative. They have a customer for life. Renton Honda could have had a customer for life, but you sucked. Now, Burien Honda has a customer for life. They rocked."

Best car buying experience ever ! Ive been buying/leasing new cars for myself and my relatives/friends several times already and every time it was a pretty long and annoying process. Every time all dealers wanted me to come in before even starting to discuss any numbers or anything, which really bugged me a lot. Before dealing with Renton Honda I visited few other Honda/Toyota/Mazda dealers, plus I just bought brand new Mazda for my wife in November 2013, so I have something to compare with. These are the things I found very appealing to meat Renton Honda, that none of other dealers have: 1. Their prices are the lowest across all Honda dealers in WA. And I really did my extensive research prior to that. 2. I was able to discuss prices/models/features/etc with their internet sales person (Thomas) which I never was able to do before. Plus he helped me to find cash incentive that brought the price of my car even lower. 3. There were absolutely no hidden costs or additions that were not discussed prior to coming to the dealership. 4. Their sales floor sales guy (Nhat) was really nice and helpful 5. Sales manager was able to work with me on the price of additional features that were on the car, unlike managers at other dealerships who was saying only "thats the best I can do", when I knew they could do better (they just didnt want to). 6. The whole process was faster than I could even imagine. I came in around 3 and left with my new car around 5:30. Just get in and get it done. So, as a result I got: 1. Brand new car at amazing price that no other dealer could even get close to 2. Fastest process time in my history of buying cars from dealers 3. Best service that a dealer could ever provide 4. Absolutely no hassle from the moment I sent email to dealership, till the moment I took off in my new car Experiences like that make me want to recommend these guys to my friends and its no brainer that Ill be coming back there next time Ill be buying a car for myself or relatives. Thank you Thomas, Nhat and sales manager (sorry, forgot the name)

Came in a few weeks ago to have my VTC actuator in my 2015 Fit replaced under extended warranty (theyre commonly defective and its a VERY common issue). It wasnt under the normal warranty anymore, but I had purchased the extended warranty. However, the extended warranty denied the claim, despite the fact that I change my oil every 5,000 mi (this part was not Autonations fault). I talked with John and he handled dealing with the warranty company. It seriously seemed like the service staff here had never worked with an extended warranty company before (although m sure the sales people will try to push one onto any car buyer). I submitted my oil receipts to John and he forwarded them to the warranty company. Waited a day. Was told it wasnt enough. I submitted a sheet of the date/miles of when I did the oil changes. Waited a day. Wasnt enough. I submitted my receipts for the oil filters. Waited another day. Was told it wasnt enough. It would be nice if the staff was trained better, so that they could tell me what typically warranty companies want, so that I dont need to keep coming back to the dealership to submit papers. I assume this wasnt the first time theyve dealt with an extended warranty claim, right? To top it off, they charged me with a $100+ diagnosis fee. They diagnosed the issue with my car as a defective VTC actuator. That wasnt new information. I told them when I went in that it was the VTC actuator. Its such a common issue that you can search for "honda startup noise" on Google and see thousands of results about the issue. During a separate issue I had with my car about a year ago, they misdiagnosed an issue I was having with Fit as a bad alternator. I declined because I knew that the alternator was charging the battery fine. They wanted me to spend $700 for parts & labor to replace the alternator, but the issue ended up actually being a bad $50 sensor.
