This is the *worst* bike shop! I only went because it was close to work (Microsoft) but I am going to avoid it from now on. Just like other reviewers, I took my bike in for maintenance after scheduling an appointment 3 weeks in advance (they said they were backlogged, so if I made an appointment 3 weeks later I would have overnight turnaround.) I came in to pick it up and they had not got to it yet; they told me to come back in 2 days. After 2 days, they told me I was scheudled the first thing for the next morning, so I should call around noon. I called at 1 pm and they told me to wait for 3 or 4 more days(!) I had rented a car for the day when I dropped off my bike, but instead they left me without transportation for a week, so far... no word yet if theyll finish my simple tuneup in the near future. I have just had the new bike 2 months, and they were so unfriendly when I went to purchase it I almost went somewhere else even then. Should have gone with my first impression -- avoid!

Update 2011: I returned with a free adjustment from a Performance brand bike purchased at the new Lynnwood store (purchase includes free lifetime adjustments). GREAT service on-the spot beyond my expectations from the service staff who was ready to go the extra mile and really took care of everything. It felt like today that they have taken the feedback to heart and are really trying -- much improved and really impressed with service. Openly indifferent service and poor selection. I was excited to come here (I love the catalog) and the trip was a waste of time. They had exacly 1 tire available for a popular mountain bike wheel and the store was a mess. The salesperson (manager?) also gave incorrect information on what items were on sale. Salespeople made clear they had other priority duties in setting up displays (at 2pm on a weekend day) versus helping customers. A great advertisement for internet shopping (not with Performance Bicycle).

I am starting to train for triathlons and hopefully an iron man and I recently stubbled across this store after visiting REI. I must say form what I could tell there prices on road bikes seemed to be a large amount cheeper for a similar product, which is why i gave them 4 stars. Although they did seems to know there stuff, and they were very intreated in helping me they tried to fit me on a 56 cm frame when I should be on a 54. they were very helpful when it came to accessories for the bike as well, they pushed me towards cheeper items in the store such as peddles, as they believed that I did not need to spend too much on cretin items. if I need any more equipment I will definitely go back.

In the 8 years Ive been shopping at this store the service has been consistently abysmal. The salespeople, the mechanics and the management seem to all have a strange kind of blindness. They dont see the customers standing in front of them and staring at them. I have repeatedly - for years, had to insist on being recognized and helped. They have raised the practice of ignoring their customers to an art. In addition, when you are lucky enough to get assistance, the staff all seems to have started that very day. It is very unusual to find someone who actually knows something about the products they sell. The only reason I go back is because of the location of the store.

I bought a new mtb online, put it together myself, but just could not get it to shift gear 100% correctly. Took it here and little did I know the online company I bought the bike from was a sister company. They fixed the shifting issue on the spot (10mins), did not charge me a thing for the repair, and took the time to show me how fix this on my own in the future. Being a customer service professional myself, Im very impressed with the service I received. I will be returning here for all of my cycling needs. If I had three thumbs they all would be pointed up.

My room mate and I just moved here and have not ridden bikes since we were kids. We took our bikes in, and the guy who helped us answered all our questions and fixed up all the little quirks on our bikes for free, showed us how to do things, and rode the bikes around the shop to make sure everything worked. We only had to pay for parts, which werent expensive. Everyone was very nice even though we were clueless. Well be going back for all our bike needs! (They also sell bikes and a bunch of parts, tools, supplies, accessories, clothes, energy food, etc.)

This is the closest bike shop to my home, and I have shopped here for several years purchasing two bikes and countless accessories. A couple of years ago I would have said that this was the worst bike shop, and indeed the worst run business of any kind, that I have ever encountered. but the shop has much improved lately. Customer service is available quickly, and the sales staff is mostly competent and enthusiastic. The quality of their bike repair and maintenance work has vastly improved.

Went in and they just sat there and didnt even recognize me. Even though I was standing in front of the counter. I felt it was a bother for them to show me a bike--as if to say--"is that all? cause I want to go sit on my stool again behind the counter and laugh with my friends" Despite this, we did order from them. It would be 3 weeks for the product to come in. 3 weeks came. Didnt show up. They had no idea where, howl, or why. Sometimes I wonder how these places stay in business

pathetic customer service. They dont accept returns for genuine issues. bike had derailleur issues going uphill (just one month after buying). Went there to return the bike and get a different one which will suit me. The rep just said we are closing and cant help now, though it was 45 mins to close. When I protested another rep had a look and said I cant return this. After arguing was able to settle to replace the derailleur for free. Will not buy here again

Had a spectacular experience at this shop. When my handlebars worked loose, they put it back into place and tightened everything up for me, no charge! Bought a hex wrench from them so I could do my own tightening if necessary. They were all very nice and down-to-earth people. The little time I spent in there was something little found in this day and age. Highly recommended and will be taking my bike there in the future if it needs something done. :D

Other people havent had a good experience, but I love this place and keep coming back. I just bought a brand new bike for a fantastic price after test riding with a friendly mechanic who got me setup. Matt B. was really knowledgeable and helpful, telling me specifics about the bike I wasnt aware of. Matt B. even invited me to join his STP group for a ride this summer. Great staff, Im headed back over there right now!

Boohoohoo, these people arent very friendly at all either in person or over the phone. Theyre always very busy too. I took my bike in for a tune up and had to take it back 2 weeks later with sticky breaks and derailleur trouble to boot. I wont buy another thing from these folks, instead ill go to the friendly staff at Sammamish Valley Cycle downtown Redmond.
