Once again I go into this store and the scanner rings up the wrong price. I was charged $7.99 for an item that was marked $5.99. Since I purchased two of them, I was overcharged $4. But I caught it. The main reason I noticed the overcharge was because this has happened to me numerous times in the past and I now pay attention to the price to make sure I am not overcharged. Safeway used to give you the item for free if you were overcharged, but apparently not anymore. Perhaps they were loosing too much money with that policy. I have learned to minimize the times I go into this store, due to the frequency of being overcharged. They expect the customer to be their quality control rather than instituting appropriate checks to be sure they arent gouging the customer. Ill continue to minimize the business I do at Safeway and take it to T&C where I have NEVER been overcharged during the 23 years I have shopped at that store.

I think Safeway has some amazing employees. They are often understaffed. All of the employees are really professional despite the behavior of some island customers who are demanding, impatient and almost knock people down trying to get to their yoga or meditation class. This I find ironic. A woman in tight yoga pants almost knocked me over just last week. Rock on Safeway employees. As for the comments below, if consumers want better food, stop buying bad food. A loaf of bread at Town and Country can cost nine dollars. Only the rich can afford this. As for employees being grouchy? Be nice to the workers. I find islanders to be an entitled rude group of citizens. Not everyone, but in general, yes.

Quality of fresh foods fair to good. Prices good. Staff very helpful and friendly. In-house Starbucks a plus. Some bulk foods. Basic groceries, lacks creativity. Recent store upgrade i.e. floors, paint, some aisles widened, interesting display of Organic fruits and vegetables nice space. Typical plain Safeway older store with a few paint highlights and some shifting around within each section. Not eye catching upscale modern and creative. Not really much of a remodel.

Recently renovated, this local Safeway is much improved. It hosts a nice meat and fish counter, along with organic fruits and veggies. Good selection of specialty products as well. Their wine and liquor department is outstanding. Did I mention the bakery??? Its great. All the staff are super friendly and they have a Starbucks as well. Narrow isles are my only complaint...and the parking can be tricky on busy days. But its close and convenient!

We shopped here a few times when we stayed across the street at Best Western. Our checker (Angel) was very friendly and she was telling us that she is going to school on our side of the state (about 30 minutes from Spokane). Excellent customer skills by her.

Everything is somewhat fine in price, cleanliness, and design, but the employees are lacking in approachability and friendliness. Some I would even say are grouchy. Its been my go-to place for lunch for 4 years, but its kind of a lackluster place.

An overall great store. Very nice staff, managers, everyone! They are now undergoing a huge renovation. They regularly stock gluten free and lactose free foods and beverages. A Starbucks inside is a bonus.

I dont think anyone on the island should go to safe way because t c has much better quality and they support numerous amounts of charities and causes with thousands of dollars of there hard earned profits.

Great for quick snacks and the deli to buying food to feed the crowd. Bring your reusable bags as this is a zero bag grocery store! No Safeway named gas station close to the highway and shops in downtown.

Its a pretty typical Safeway. Its got the "Lifestyle" facelift but its also not the biggest one around. Staff is ho-hum in terms of helpfulness and friendliness.
