Walk in the door of UnderDog Bikes and youll feel instantly welcome by owner Chris Heslin and his shop dog "Zombie", and, youll get great advice and service all at a very reasonable price. UnderDogs location is perfectly situated just a few miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, along the greenway AND at the foot of Mill Mountain (which features 12+ miles of great singletrack for mountain biking and numerous road cycling routes - including the Everesting World Record Hill Climb Route). Cycling in Roanoke is growing fast and thats definitely in part thanks to Chris / UnderDog and the areas other great bike shops, owners and staff!

My husband and I found this facility on google when we were looking to rent and ride bikes while on vacation in Roanoke VA. The staff was very friendly, professional and gave good directions and advice about the Blue Ridge Greenway for pleasure bicycle riding. The prices are reasonable and we had no problems renting, riding or returning equipment. Truly enjoyable as this facility is very close to the Greenway. When I pass through again, guess where I will go to rent a bicycle for my riding pleasure? You guessed it!

Carlo was very knowledgeable and friendly. I am an intermediate bicyclist, and needed a bike for riding on the greenway that could also handle off-road trails. He helped me figure out which features to go for, and what was worth the extra cash for the long run quality. I am impressed with the stores staff as well as their pricing. Only complaint is their tiny parking lot, but since the store is right beside one of Roanokes best greenways, I am more than willing to overlook that.

Chris and Zombie-dog run a great shop! Chris is the best guy for bikes in town. Hes really knowledgeable, approachable, and great at helping newbies navigate the complicated world of bike parts and upgrades. Hes also funny and an awesome guy! The rentals are always in great condition (even the adult big-wheels!) and theyre right on the Greenway which makes for a great option for how to spend a day.

Great shop! Their customer service is wonderful! Zombie, the shop security dog, is adorable and very laid back! I hadnt been on a bike in at least 40 yrs! Enjoyed riding along the Greenway so much that I went back the following weekend with my ENTIRE FAMILY and plan to go back again real soon! The prices are great and they set the bikes up just right!

Stopped in to have my tires checked after pulling my bike out of the garage for the first time in a year. Picked this shop because of their website and was not disappointed. Not only did they take care of the minor issue right away, they were so polite while doing it. Plus - I love a shop supervised by a dog as laid back as Zombie.

Had a great experience with Underdog Bikes. The owner sold me a terrific Jamis mountain bike. He set it up just right, gave me good advice about accessories and maintenance. I live over an hour away, but I plan to return for tune-ups and servicing. Highly recommended.
