Very well staffed, helpful associates. I was able to easily purchase and pick up the chair that I wanted. The receiving crew processed and loaded my order with no problem. Very professional atmosphere, and a beautiful inside of the store. Thank you very much! (2016 update to my above 2014 review) Two years later, and I have recently gotten married and my wife and I needed to buy a futon for our guest/spare room. I went to the same West Broad Street Value City Furniture store that I visited two years prior for my living room chair. Yet again, another great experience. I was acknowledged by an associate, told in an informative manner about the promotions of the day, where the clearance section was, and if I needed any help with anything to just ask. I then went on to make my selection, found a futon at a great price, set up the order, and they had it delivered within a few days. Everything went totally smooth and the futon is absolutely WONDERFUL! I have no idea why this store has so many negative reviews, but I can tell you that my several experiences have only ever been positive. This will always be one of our go-to stores for home furniture! Thank you again! THIRD time editing my review! In regards to our second purchase in 2016. My wife and I just walked in to purchase a sofa for our living room. We were promptly greeted, and when we said that we were just browsing we were left to do just that. No hustle, bustle, or pressure. We found just the sofa we wanted, were assisted by an associate in a very friendly and professional manner, and had it all squared away for delivery several days from purchase. The delivery came 100% on time, was set up very quickly and neatly by the delivery crew. The lead of the crew was very friendly. We absolutely LOVE the sofa! American Furniture Manufacturing product. 10/10, strongly recommend! Were all set on furniture now for the foreseeable future, but you can bet if anything comes up where we need some that Value City Furniture on West Broad will be our first stop to shop!

I still experiencing the bad experience I had buying at West Broad Value City. I was so excited to buy a new bedroom for my 7 years old son and, on Presidents holiday weekend, I went to Value City West Broad in Richmond for the first time. I found the bed my son and I liked and I bought. I paid $1,600 cash for a month ahead delivery. I planned myself for it. then, my nightmare started. They called me to confirm the time and day for my delivery. They gave me March 21, between 1-4PM. I waited until 5PM and nothing. Not even a phone call. I called then. They left waiting on the phone for 10 minutes. They didnt know where the driver was. I went to the store in person. They still didnt know where the driver with my delivery was. I was told my delivery fee it was going to be refunded.I came back home around 6PM, to find the delivery at my door. 6 hours to have it. Plus 1 hour to set up. 7 hours. Then, one of the tapboard for the trundle bed didnt fit. It was too big. I called next day to schedule a pick up. Pick up time between 9:30-12:00noon. It was not picked up. I went to the store again. I was informed by the store manager, who didnt introduced himself, affirmed to me that the board was going to be pick up next day. They came 8:00Am, when I was putting my son on the school bus. I didnt see them. They left. It was today. I still have the board, no refund of anything and tired, stressed, so sick of all that. The bed it wasnt cheap. $1,600 to me its a lot money for one piece. And I was treated with no respect, a complete lack of customer service. Who will pay for my time, phone calls, delays in set up my sons room? The worst experience I had in my entire life. Do not buy there. They do not care to customers. I am considering sued them for my emotional stress. Take my review seriously and be careful to not feel the way I am feeling right now.It is not worth it.

THE WORST I WISH I NEVER PURCHASED ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE. Went in and purchased a king size bed and twin bed and 3 piece living room set. The day before I was told it would be deliver I got a phone call and was being told that my appointment was on Thursday not Wednesday the date that I had asked for was Wednesday 2/17/2016 because I had off work. So my husband went and picked everything up from the store. When he got there they had my couch and recliner but no love seat they had my king size bed and frame and my sons twin size bed was out for delivery (which i still dont understand). We get everything that they had there home and start to set up out bed. The bed frame was for a QUEEN BED NOT A KING. At this point i was so mad i was about to tell them to come get all of their stuff and give me back my money but my husband told me no. So my husband call them they told him to bring it up there they would switch the frame out. Well which my husband was gone they come to deliver my sons bed and they bring a box spring and a foam that you put on a mattress. I started looking at it and noticed this is not what I order at all by this time i am so mad I could not even call them because i know myself and my anger. So i call my husband that is at the store switching out the bed frame and tell him whats going on. He goes in there and tells them what is going on and they tell him he needs to bring the foam pad back to the store before he can get the right mattress. Needless to say I still do have my love seat and I am pissed with this place i would never recommend someone to this place nor will I ever purchase from there again.

The worst customer service I have encountered recently. I purchased a table over the phone and went to pick it up later that night after work. When I got there, the front desk personnel informed me that the deadline for pick up was 7pm and that Ill have to come back and get it tomorrow. Natasha, the saleswoman I purchased the table from, failed to mention that detail. So, I came the next morning to get my table. One of the moving guys brought it out to me with the legs still on when I was told previously that the table would have been assembled, so while the moving guy stood there, I got out my screwdriver and started taking the legs off myself. The moving guy could have cared less. I loaded the table up in my truck and left. When I got home, there were scratches all over and a small chunk of wood had been taken out of the side. Fuming, I had to go back to Value City, return the table, and I got a full refund. Again, no one cared about what I had just been through, I was never offered a discount, never offered a gift card, I was not offered apologies. I would definitely pass by this place; there are some negatives you can overlook when it comes to retail stores, but customer service that is this bad that it leaves you speechless, the lowest prices on furniture in all of the U.S will not convince me to ever go back there.
