This Giant Food in McLean, is alot better than most in the area. Perhaps it is the location, but they have started to carry a much higher quality of food items within the last year. I think they finally got the demand-supply thing right after losing alot of business to Trader Joes and Whole Foods. Aside from a large selection of usual foods, they now have a fair amount of organic produce. Of course it is more expensive, but still less than Whole Foods. They also have organic meats and grass-fed meats and poultry and boxed and canned foods that cater to the organic minded shoppers. Their staff is also very nice although not knowledgeable about the organic section. One year ago they only had 1/2 aisle of organic foods and now they have 2 aisles (or 4 rows) of organic items. What I like about this store is that, with the new additions of organic food, my wife and I do not need to go to Whole Foods as much. And they give points toward gasoline purchased at Shell stations. And, if you take out the organic additions, you still have a nice store that is relatively clean and friendly. Try it. Its worth it.

This Giant does not have a great selection of food compared to other Giants (and other grocery stores). Furthermore, half the dedicated floorspace is for fresh fruit/vegetables... and beer/wine. HALF! And their bakery/bread aisle, while well stocked, is limited to white bread and bread made from bleached flour. No whole wheat, no rye, no pumpernickel (in the bakery). That said, there is *some* in the bread aisle, it is of the mass manufactured, high fructose corn syrup variety... which neither tastes like bread or is healthy to eat. And to add insult to injury, the checkout clerks seem to expect that you will be the one to bag your own groceries. Not to mention the extremely tight parking lot. --- I wont be returning.

Large store, good vegetable, fruit and produce section. Also have good charcuterie section (although I confess miss European selection of salamis but that goes for the US in general), salad bar, ready made meals, bakery. Pharmacy is rather slow though. Theres a Starbucks and florist in store too. Florist in Safeway is better though (and I dont drink coffee so not a patron of Starbucks). Best grocery store in McLean. Good to use Peapod pickup service here to save time, as it often takes a long time with all the distractions in store.

You know youve arrived in the land of Foo Foo when a grocery store offers valet parking. So the Kennedys and others who are busy keeping us safe from terrorists can rush in, shop, and rush out again to race to their next very important assignation. The McLean Giant is clean and spacious with an international flair so you will find things here that you might not at most other grocery stores.

Has everything you need and some upscale items. Good selection of wine and cheese. Fresh bread is nice. A bit pricey, but Mclean is just that way. I mostly go because they are close.

Cheaper prices for many items compared to chesterbrook safeway- no 1% organic gallons at this giant. im an "associate" (employee) at giant and former employee at safeway.

Love this Giant. Great variety of selections including some exotic ingredients. As they upgrade and modernize, products move about so this Giant is a learning experience.

Best Giant in the area. Items almost always in stock. Knowledgeable department managers, helpful staff. Store is clean. Only downside is the parking lot.
