I NEVER GOT MY $40 CHANGE BACK!!!!!! I just left River road Whole Foods feeling like a criminal. I bought two items dried mangos and flowers PAID with my debit card and requested $40 change back. Well! distracted by the way the cashier handled my flowers I left without my $40 change. Realizing what I had done at Little Falls Pkwy just a few lights down, I turned back and returned to the customer service and explained what happened (btw I carried the two items back into the store) Well the girl I spoke with referred matter to another guy who told me to sit down and wait. He walked over to the register I used (I had to give him my receipt) the girl who waited on me was on a break, he counted the drawer TOOK A WHILE THEN RETURNED TO OFFICE TOOK SOME MORE TIME THEN CAME OUT AND TOLD ME THAT THE DRAWER BALANCED AND SO I COULDNT GET MY $40 CHANGE BACK. I ASKED HIM TO SPEAK WITH THE CASHIER WHO ASSISTED ME HE REFUSED AND SENT ME ON MY WAY! IM ANGRY, UPSET AND APPALLED AT THEIR WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. GO FIGURE!!! IM A HARD WORKING PERSONAL TRAINER WHO SPEND AN AVERAGE OF $300 A WEEK AT VARIOUS WHOLE FOODS IN THE AREA. SO TRYING TO GET A FREE $40 IS NOT MY GOAL, GO FIGURE!!!!

I tried to talk to a manager about the position of the shopping carts on the far end of the store, requiring one to walk its length twice before entering. He or she was not available, and so I left my email address and was told I would hear back. Which I didnt. I then spent some time on the corporate web site trying to identify someone else to write to, but the only recourse is to contact the store, i.e. no email or telephone number outside a store is provided. Its a bit like telling a harassment victim that the only person authorized to take his or her complaint is the harasser.

This WF is more than FANTASTIC! If assistance is needed for anything, they are right there to assist that lost customer. The floral department....what can I say, they call when my specialty plant arrives and will hold it for me until I can make it back to pick up. The girls that work in this dept. goes far above and beyond what any customer could ask. Great job Donny on a team well built!!! Dont get me started on the bakery.... the pies are to die for.

While I shop at Whole Foods on River Road, I learned to avoid their cakes. Why? They bring them in from New York, frozen. I bought two for my sons birthday party. One was fine. The other had spoiled cream filling and was inedible. After quite a fuss, I was refunded for the cake, but it soured all of us on their cakes. Fortunately, no one got sick, but that is only because after the first taste it was obvious to everyone that the cake was bad.

The only reason i gave this 5 stars is because i was sitting in the dining area and i didnt really like the egg salad to much so one of the guys that handles the carts saw that i threw it away so he asked me if i wanted other sides i told him no thanks 5 mins later he came back with my change for the egg salad (i didnt ask him to) and said i should have enjoyed it he was so nice and welcoming i love it

I would characterize this Whole Foods as "okay" relative to other Whole Foods. There really isnt the sort of selection that one would find at other Whole Foods, its a bit smaller, a bit more compact. Not much in the form of selection on baby foods which is a bit disappointing. Other than that, its an ordinary Whole Foods.

There are larger Whole Foods Markets in the area with more gourmet options (such as the fresh pasta at the Friendship Heights WF), but the selection is still more than adequate. Also, most importantly, this Whole Foods has some of the friendliest staff I have ever encountered.

Very nice staff. Small but clean well organized store. Frequent long lines. Nice seasonal things like wreaths and fresh flowers. On a Saturday morning you could get lucky and observe Wolf Blitzer noshing on organic carrots. Awful terrible evil parking lot.

Shocking services at checkout. I actually had the cashier take out one of the browny bars from the pack I bought which has 8 bars in it because she thought there was 9. Unbelievable. And so so slow. Pretty disappointed.

Its a Whole Foods. If youre intent on organic or lightly processed foods and willing to pay a premium, consider this a 4 or 5 star review. Otherwise, youll find the selection disappointing and the prices somewhat high.

This WF is more for convenience since its next to the capital crescent trail. The produce is very bountiful and refreshing. A bit smaller then others.
