Classic hardware store - narrow isles, tons of merchandise, people who really know what you need and can find it immediately. Went in for a lamp part after finding out local Baldwin lamp dealer wanted me to leave the lamp and then "would call me with an estimate". Village Hardware had the small brass fitting I needed and then charged me a whole 25 cents for the part! And have bought 2 Weber grills from them - used one up after 20 years, went in to look and brought the replacement. It was delivered assembled, and they took the old used up grill away. Go into the basement Weber showroom but plan to spend some time there as they have an amazing inventory of Weber grills, accessories, parts and grilling spices. AND, be sure to talk to them about your lawn and plants. Best and most knowledgeable resource in Alexandria. Do we like it? Oh Yeah!

Ive always appreciated convenience and friendly service. When I bought $125 weed whacker it worked for about 10 minutes when thread stopped feeding. I reviewed directions and fiddled with it for about an hour, going to buy new thread before giving up. When I returned to store, I was told there were no exchanges or returns, that the "boss" had same model that worked fine, and they could demonstrate it for me. I left it there, wrote off the $125 as lesson learned, and bought new weed whacker at Lowes. My fault for not checking beforehand on exchange/return policy. They later phoned to say my weed whacker was fixed. But I my Lowes purchase works fine and has warranty.

I stopped by Village Hardware to ask if they could help me work a butane torch I bought at Home Depot (after the HD employee was unable to help). The manager at Village Hardware confirmed that my torch was defective, replaced it at no cost with the one of the same brand that they happened to carry, and gave me two free cans of butane to boot. Customer service is amazing at Village Hardware. I will never go back to the big box stores.

Best mom/pop, non-chain hardware store in the area. They have every hard-to-find item Ive searched for thus far. My metal-works teacher also goes here to find odd items. They are super helpful, and I dont feel out of place just because I am a girl. I now shop here first to buy hardware and tools rather than waste fuel trekking across the area from one big box store to the other with little success of finding what I truly need.

One of a Kind Place! Living only about 2 minutes away, I go here for all of my needs. It seems as though whenever the big name hardware stores dont carry an item, village hardware has it and their customer service exceeds my expectations every single visit. Not only do they carry everything, but they are willing to help you out with any project you are working on. Overall, this place is 10 out of 5 stars

Outstanding service, somehow ~ they always have what I am shopping for in tools/power tools, equipment, lawn and garden needs, every bulb for every appliance ~ etc., etc. They are knowledgeable, locally owned ~ and truly care about customer service and their community, and it is very nice that they hire local kids from the local high school year round….. :-)

Went in looking for someone who could help us make a good decision on our next grill. Found the best. Tyler spent time with us talking through Big Green Eggs, various Webers, charcoal vs gas and more. No pressure, loads of information and biggest selection weve seen so far. Bought our next grill there and highly recommend.

Village hardware is truly one of a kind! The staff is friendly and helpful (not at all common at those other box stores!). Weber show room is amazing! They helped me find the perfect grill for fathers day and delivered it the same day! Excellent service overall!

Service is excellent, staff knowledgable, and selection amazing for a small store front. Dont expect 5 brands of each tool, but they will most likley have a good quality version of what you need. Well worth the additonal 5 to 10 percent cost.

Awesome local hardware store! The staff has the kind of knowledge you just wont find at Home Depot. They have a surprising amount of inventory in a relatively small space. If you need it for your home, chances are, they have it.

I always buy my nuts, bolts, screws and washers here. They always have the size I need and I dont have to purchase 6 of them just to get one. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful.
